Hadn’t eaten here in a long time because the service had gone downhill, but I’m happy to say it has vastly improved! Food, coffee and service were both excellent. Will be back sooner rather than later!

Great place to eat, but I never know the hours. Can you update your hours on Unilocal since you are closed at 630 on Saturdays?!

We eat here once a week. My husband always gets the omlet and I always get the breakfast tacos and cheese soup. Food and service is always wonderful. The new manager, Sara, is attentive and caring.

I’m out with my sorority sisters on a black history tour. This restaurant was used in the filming of «The Help». The staff and Manager(Sarah) were excellent. The fries, onion rings and burgers were to die for. I also had a chocolate malt. It was so good. The atmosphere of this place was friendly and family oriented. I will definitely be returning to Brents Drugs. Thanks to all the staff for making our day great.

Great place to have a burger. And cool to look at all the stuff in there from when it was a pharmacy. And it was in the movie«The Help» which I thought was pretty cool.

Classic and cute. The food is decent, the atmosphere is from another era, and the milkshakes are divine. Brent’s gets a lot of media recognition and it’s a must see diner for travelers and locals. Home to many movie scenes and quite famous. The recent remodel made it feel more retro and cleaner. It’s location is in the Fondren District of Jackson so it’s super artsy and everyone is always relaxed and mellow. Guarantee you’ll love it!

Neatest restaurant in Fondren. Fast and friendly service. The atmosphere is amazing. I love old school décor. And side tip: they serve breakfast and the full menu all day long. They also have the best milkshakes I’ve ever had!!! Love this place.

The fried chicken sandwich was life changing. I think it ruined all other fried chicken for me though.

We love this place. There old fashioned malts and shakes are amazing. And the lemonade is worth the trip! The kids like the old-Time feel.

I’ve eaten at Brent’s at least 30 – 45 times over the years and seen its many incarnations from quaint to attempted splendor. All experiences were pretty basic but never great. Food is solid but service was typically lacking or service was good but the kitchen was always out of things, and it’s not the kind of place that one expects to run out of the special or a small plate, if you get what I’m saying. Yet the consistent breakfast diner-style fare has always had me go back. This most recent time was head and shoulders above the usual experience. Our waitress was super friendly and our order was timely. Food was above expectations. See my photos for picture evidence but the breakfast sandwich and biscuit was banging and the salad was a life saver on a Saturday. If you’ve had a rough time there before, give it another shot. Things are on the upswing. Let’s show em support for their efforts. Solid diner. Solid neighborhood staple.

This place is great! I had the BLT and braised greens which were some of the best I’ve ever had. So good! Come eat here!

It’s a solid three stars. Service can be hit or miss, prices are ok and the food is fine. They’ve got some real treats on the menu though, so don’t count them out! Brent’s is a Jackson institution. Growing up it was still a pharmacy with a soda counter where you could get a quick and cheap sandwich and a tasty milkshake. They’ve changed hands, renovated(keeping the same style but cleaning up a lot!) and thrown a speakeasy in the back(A+ guys). The menu still has many of the same things from Brent’s past. The classics like grilled cheese, egg olive salad and milkshakes sit alongside an expanded blue plate special menu and more diverse breakfast items like chicken and waffles. About that chicken and waffles though. I just had it again this morning and it is almost the best I’ve ever had. The waffles were awesome — candied pecans and fresh strawberries on rich waffles with plenty of butter. The chicken was sub-par though. It looked like I got a generous portion, a full breast, but it was a bit dry. Plenty of syrup and butter helped, but slightly better chicken would make this the best in town. They are great for other treats too — a milkshake or fresh lemonade on a hot day, a sandwich for a quick lunch to take you back to their classics. All in all, this is a solid three stars, can’t complain about it!

Excellent patty melt, excellent chicken and waffles. Really good Bloody Mary’s as well! Such a great brunch spot for out of towners.

I was in town for a few days and decided to stop by for a quick lunch with a friend. I love burgers, and I love milkshakes, so I definitely wanted to check the place out. The atmosphere was great. Felt like I was thrown back in time. However, the food was just average. I got their burger and strawberry malt. I enjoyed my meal, but I wasn’t blown away by the taste. The burger was okay, and the malt tastes like a standard malt or milkshake. If I visited again, I would probably get a breakfast meal with the«Maltdown» instead. Overall, I would recommend a visit. Just don’t expect anything extraordinary.

It’s a pharmacy turned into a diner, what more do you want? It’s pretty cool that this hidden gem in the middle of good ‘ol Mississippi(didn’t even have to use spell check) was featured in a movie that was once the #1 film in the country. Makes me want to watch it now. Onto the food… The Tuna Melt was my go-to. The second time around, I tried the Turkey Burger. Both are equally yummy, but I hear that you’re supposed to get the shakes there. So get the shakes. I really didn’t go for the food nor with high expectations: I was sold on the idea that I was going to eat lunch in, or what was, a drugstore. Pretty cool.

First off — Just go. You need to experience Brent’s Drugs. It’s like stepping back in time! Brent’s has been a Jackson icon for years. They recently remodeled, extended the counter and moved it into being a full diner style restaurant. We dropped in during the soft opening and had some fantastic breakfast food.(It was breakfast menu only for the soft opening.) The waiters were attentive. The kitchen was a bit slow, but served the food in a reasonable amount of time considering a fresh kitchen, staff, and new menu. I’m sure this will only improve. I had the Sausage and Egg Sandwich with a side of hash browns. Home ground sage sausage and an aioli sauce took this sandwich to a new level! It was delicious. The hash brown potatoes had just the right amount of onions. My daughter had the pancakes which were fabulous. My wife was jealous of those! I found them quite tasty. My wife had a ham and cheese omelette and while it was good, it was nothing special. She wished she had ordered something different. We can’t wait to go back when the full menu is being offered!

I’m rating this place five stars because I’m not solely basing the review upon the food there but what Brent’s represents. My mom grew up in Jackson, went to school across the street and ate at Brent’s as a child growing up. For fifty years, my family and many Jackson natives have gone to Brent’s soda fountain. It’s one of the last remaining American gems and upon walking in, you feel the history and legacy of this place. I always enjoy stopping by here when in Jackson. The burger and fries are good as well as the fried pickles and milkshake. It’s just a good olé’ fashioned hangout but it stands for more.
