I hesitated on going here, as many reviews were not complimentary. But I was pleasantly surprised. We wanted a low key Thai meal and were able to be seated at 7pm without a line or reservation. The Paid Thai comes standard with shrimp, chicken and tofu along with the rice noodles. Excellent. We also had the Calamari in yellow curry with potatoes over brown rice(you can get white, brown, or sticky rice with it). Again, excellent. Fresh, flavorful and delicious. The staff was prompt and friendly and there is a window to the kitchen where you can see the meals prepared. We got some of their home baked chocolate chip and pecan cookies to go. Also good. Kob Khun Krap, Appe Thai.

I’m a bit torn on this place I have been there twice in 2 years. The 1st time was great! This year — the food being offered was impressively narrow and not really Thai. They only had IPA on tap and we’re out of pretty much everything else.

This is a small restaurant but thoughtfully done. Interiors looks very simple and clean. The food was good but little bit on the expensive side. The restaurant is a few blocks away from the small downtown. The soup and the fried rice was good. I would have expected a little more for the price we paid. But I think this city itself is expensive overall.

Great local spot! The owners are the chefs, and they cook and visit the tables. You can really tell the owners are in the house, this place is something really special.

So before going here I took a minute to browse through the reviews and decided to take a leap of faith as this place was within walking distance of our hotel. The ambience was nice and welcoming, we were greeted right away. As others had mentioned some of the pricing seemed quite inflated, there were 3 in our party and we were more or less looking for a light meal. We each had soup I specifically had tum yum with shrimp,(I believe it was $ 2.00) extra and although the flavor was nice it came with only two shrimp(2 very tiny unimpressive shrimp) I was looking for a light meal but this kinda took me back for the total costs of $ 12.00 it was at max a one cup portion. We also ordered 2 orders of spring rolls, again going with shrimp($ 3.00 extra) and I pretty much laughed when they came, because it had the smallest shrimp I had ever seen placed directly on top(and it was one shrimp ONLY) pretty ridiculous if you ask me as the portion was so small it didn’t even matter, it was simply like eating lettuce. So in the end our lunch visit balanced out to be: 3 people, 3 soups and two orders of spring rolls for around $ 75.00. For the quality and the portions it was down right disappointing. I did give it 2 stars because of the atmosphere and the service. Lastly, for my military friends out there they do not offer any military discounts.

Food not really that good but the service is excellent. Spring rolls were hard and greasy. Salad dressing was too spicy. Potatoes in the curry were way over cooked. Did like the yellow curry.

The food here is pretty good. Not the best Thai I’ve ever had, and certainly not the worst. Just run of the mill, really. There aren’t any standout or exotic offerings like Khao Soi or anything like that. Just your normal takeout staples that you’d find in any number of Thai restaurants in the SF Bay Area or other large metro areas. The prices, however, are not normal take out prices. Be prepared to pay Jackson Hole prices for some pretty ordinary Thai food. The décor is nicer than your normal Thai place, and the outdoor seating is very nice. Location, location, location, right? Well, this location on Pearl street is great. I just wish the food was a bit better. I ordered the Tom Kha soup with chicken, which is my favorite Thai soup. The flavor of the broth was good, but not quite as strong as I like. The fish sauce was easy to taste, but I thought the galangal notes could have been stronger. The chicken pieces were way too thick in my opinion, and the consistency was rubbery. The flavor of the meat was quite bland as well. The Pad Thai was good, but I also thought the flavor could have been stronger. Perhaps more tamarind in the sauce would have done it. The shrimp were cooked nicely and very tender and flavorful. I did expect a bit larger portion for the price of the dish.

Wonderful food and cheerful service. Eaten Thai food numerous times and this was excellent. Did not find bill to be high for Jackson — Two of us with wine and tip $ 72.00.

Sep 7 Update: In addition to the three of us who dined here on Aug 28, we returned with two additional friends for another visit to Bön Appe Thai. It was as tasty and enjoyable as the first visit. Three of us regularly enjoy Lotus of Siam in our hometown of Las Vegas. Lotus is frequently reviewed as «one of the best if not the best Thai restaurant in the country» in a wide variety of publications. Bön Appe Thai easily matches Lotus on food taste and quality and greatly exceeds it on ambiance and service. Lotus still serves great food but their service and ambiance has gone dramatically downhill since they expanded a few years ago and starting bringing in busloads of tourists. They’ve clearly increased their volume but at the expense of service and the customer experience. So, a few words of totally unsolicited advice to the owners of Bön Appe Thai; if you decide to expand do so in slow and and deliberate manner so you don’t accidentally screw up the great thing you have going on at Bön Appe Thai. And, thanks for two wonderful evenings of pleasurable dining in Jackson! Original August 28th review that I erroneously posted to the wrong restaurant: Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the various menu items and had great suggestions about pairing food selection with the curry offerings. One of us had and thoroughly enjoyed«traditional Thai noodle soup» and one had a delicious dish of chicken with yellow curry with potatoes and carrots. This place is a real keeper and we’ll be returning this week for dinner. In addition to very tasty food, the vibe is casual, contemporary and relaxing.

Mediocre. Ordered a salad with apple and chicken. Received shredded apple with chicken on top. Otherwise known as a meal I could have prepared myself in ten seconds if I had very little food and even less creativity. Not filling or remotely impressive. Very disappointed. Otherwise fine. Nice location and ambiance.

The Thai food experience in a small town is an interesting one. There aren’t many Thai options, so you never know what you will get. A friend and I came here for their lunch menu which is about 13 $ and includes a spring roll, your entrée, a salad, and rice. The salad was alright, but the dressing tasted like straight up peanut butter. If you are a huge peanut butter fan, this may be for you. The rest of the food was good. I had chicken green curry, and it was tasty, but not very spicy at 3 stars… our waitress offered to bring extra spices, but they never came. I think this was due to another staff member that did not appear to speak or understand English very well… anyway, I hear staffing is at a premium in Jackson in the summer. The spring rolls were probably the best item, super crispy, yet light. Very tasty. This wasn’t my favorite food in Jackson, but it’s a decent option if you want Thai and don’t want to drive.

Both my husband and I live in the Tenderloin in San Francisco, surrounded by dozens(DOZENS!) of Thai places within 3 block radius. We always order the same things when checking out a new Thai place: Pad Thai for him, Pad Kee Mao for her so we’ve had plenty of variations of these dishes. Those 2 dishes we had at Bön Appe Thai were some of the best ones we had. They were delicious — not drenched in sauce and very, very flavorful. I could taste the basil in my Pad Kee Mao(kind of rare). It was so good I could lick the plate. For $ 15-$ 16 we thought it was very pricey and thus the 4 stars and not 5. Portion size, like other reviewers mentioned, wasn’t Olive Garden size but I’d rather have quality over quantity so we didn’t have too much of a qualm with that. I only wish they were cheaper or had reasonable lunch special(at $ 13 — the lunch special is still very pricey).

After reading all the negative reviews I would like to add my take on this restaurant. At first I thought the service was going to be slow but once we placed our order our food came out very quickly. The food was delicious and very fresh. I have eaten at a lot of Thai restaurants and this one is one of the best I have ever had.

The resort where we were staying, The Amangani, made reservations for us days in advance. When we arrived we were greeted with very RUDE staff who basically had no time to talk to us since they could find no reservation. They made no apologies, were not at all concerned, and basically ignored us. We called the resort who called them and it was discovered the restaraunt wrote the wrong day down. The Amamgani asked them to rectify the situation as it was their fault. They basically told the Amangani«too bad» but by then we’d given this nasty restaraunt our backs to find a better place to eat. I don’t care how good food is, rude people aren’t worth your time.

We eat here when ever we drive through Jackson Hole. They are pet friendly on the lanai, so we bring our two min pins when the weather is good. Food is tasty and the service is great.

It was good food but I ordered a 2 out of 5 and it was so flipping hot!!! Couldn’t even eat it. My dad ordered the 1 and it was pretty good. They didn’t offer to make it again which sucked.

We were told by my cousin who has lived in Jackson to go to Teton Thai Plate. Being New Years’ Day, it was closed. Huge bummer. This was the absolute most disappointing«Thai» meal we’ve ever had, and we eat a LOT of Thai. We called to order take out after skiing. I ordered the Tom Kha with shrimp, and it had one shrimp. ONE. I really would have been ok with it if the soup itself was flavorful. It was AWFUL! I added my own garlic, braggs, pepper and hot sauce… just bland. My husband ordered the yellow curry, and it was almost like water. Never, ever again. We also paid 12 dollars for fresh«spring rolls,» and were charged 3 bucks for shrimp. The killer here is that they cut two shrimp in half and put one half on TOP of the«spring roll.» We will never waste 40 bucks on such an awful meal again.

Go to Teton Thai Plate instead. Service was lame, food was lame and very, very overpriced. Coming from an SF resident, that should tell you something. Clearly targeting tourists and living off of old glory. I’ll say it again: Go to Teton Thai Plate instead.
