One of my favorite places to eat back in college days. Either my palate has matured or the quality has gone downhill in recent years. Average to below average food at inflated prices.

What a horrible excuse for Italian food. I ordered the pasta primavera and every vegetable that very clearly came from a frozen mix veggie back where raw the sauce was runny and don’t think for a second the pasta is made to order, that stuff was almost mush. Service was nice and deserved the tip but I regret stoping by.

Super excessively overdressed«Cesar» salad and they charged me $ 3 for bar tap seltzer. Veal parm was OK, eggplant parm no bueno. I suspect they are having some staffing issues.

We won’t be returning here again. Service was terrible and the food was mediocre. Understandably, they had a large birthday party in their back room but it was our server that got our order wrong. When it was corrected, the steak was full of gristle. The salads were literally drowning in dressing. I asked for the best pasta on the menu and when it came it was dry and flavorless. We had to ask for water multiple times. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1, the french fries are outstanding, might be the best thing on the menu. However, a chain Italian restaurant would have been a better choice.

I bought a groupon because I was taking my nieces and daughter to the safari park in the area. I was disappointed that I went on a Sunday afternoon and all the foods I wanted to try from looking at the website was only served after 5pm. But what I could order was good, just not what I wanted. The desserts are homemade and great! Maybe I can get back sometime for dinner. It should specify online that certain foods are only served at specific times. I was disappointed I couldn’t order what I wanted. They also kept it extremely cold and had a fan directly on us that I asked to be turned off.

We had a lovely experience here and the food, service, atmosphere and wine were all great! The prices are very reasonable and the servings are generous. I had not been here in years and saw a Groupon so I bought it and I am really glad I did, I will definitely be back my mushroom pasta was delicious!

Stopped by for dinner last night and should have taken the hint when we walked in the door it was going to be unpleasant. We actually waited 10minutes for someone to acknowledge that we came in, despite the relative calm and the presence of both a manager and a hostess. They were both involved in a conversation and while it was obvious they saw us come in, they made no attempt to acknowledge us. After getting a table, the fun continued while we waited increasingly lengthy intervals for service. or something that fits that description only very loosely. An hour into the ordeal we finally received our cold entrees. Had they been served at anything other than room temperature, I have no fought they would have been ok. Our waitress ordered to reheat them(not have them remade) and we were frustrated, so we decided to simply ask for the bill for our drinks and call it a night. A manager came over & spoke to us, but offered no apologies then said she would return shortly with the bill. Fifteen minutes later, she’s still avoiding us. This was the worst service I have received in a very long time. Very disappointed.

The service was great but the quality of the food we ordered was not great. My husband & I both ordered the filet special. The cut of meat we were served was NOT a filet. Then there was some type of gravy with a gel consistency on top of it. My husband ordered the sautéed sweet potatoes and couldn’t eat them because they were hard. My Italian spinach came out of a can. We also both got the house salad and added bacon which definitely came out of a bag and were horribly salty. What we got was definitely just classified as eatable. We think maybe they may have good pasta but we do not recommend the steak.

I was excited to find this locally owned gem while stopping over in Jackson, TN. Don’t let the outside fool you, the service was fantastic and the veal was near the best I’ve ever had, so tender! Now the pumpkin cheesecake, that was by far and away the very best I have ever had! While I do not consider myself a foodie, I do appreciate good food. This was good food at a fair price with friendly service. Great combo — especially while in the road!

I would’ve given it five stars, but the service was a bit slow and not as attentive as I’d like. We’ve lived in Charlotte, Chicago and now Atlanta. I’ve not had ravioli better than the mushroom ravioli I had tonight. Good job in the kitchen, now update the dining room.

My family and I stopped here for dinner on our way to Nashville because the Unilocal reviews were pretty good and we hate chains. As others have mentioned the fresh bread was nice and the food was ok. I had the lasagna swimming in marinara that tasted a lot like canned. Both my husband and I were reasonably satisfied with our food and the prices. The kids ordered from the kids menu — chicken tenders and fries. The kids meals were $ 9 a piece and didn’t include a drink. Normally kids meals top out in the $ 6 — $ 7 range. Perhaps smaller portions would help. They’re little kids after all, they don’t need a big plate filled with tenders and steak fries(which were fantastic btw). Now comes the bad part… Ladies room reeked of ammonia the likes of which I’ve only encountered when cleaning a litter box. Yikes! After that, paying the $ 65 check was a bit hard to swallow. Hate to give a local business a bad review but, you know what they say, if you want to know about the kitchen, take a look at how they keep their bathrooms.

Absolutely hidden gem. Family-owned, authentic Italian restaurant. Family re-located from Chicago and started this place 45 years ago. I am from Chicago so I knew this place would be stellar. I literally could drink the homemade pasta sauce. I ordered the small chicken Parmesan and it was plenty(unless you want to over eat). Do yourself a favor and get the house Italian sauce on your salad. Pretty extensive wine list as well. For those who left a poor review… really???

First of all, I’ve been coming to Jackson for projects for 5 years or more and why did I just find out about this place this week? Believe me, I ask customers all the time for recommendations and never once… really? Second of all, my dismay at the above is not because Baudo’s is the best Italian restaurant in the US of A that I’ve ever visited.(Angelina’s in Green Bay, Wisconsin… no kidding… I dare you to argue.) But it’s because it is SO hard to not have to go to a chain in Jackson… really, really hard! The fact that this is a nice, quiet, family owned place… and that family obviously has a lot of pride in their work makes it a better choice than ANY of the chains in town. Now…my husband was working kind of close to Jackson this week too so I got to have a mid-week date in Jackson. WOOHOO!(So weird, since we were both on expenses, we had separate checks. It felt kinda sleazy and I more than kind of liked it.) We hit up Baudo’s last night after a quick check on Unilocal for Italian fare. The place was quiet, but it was a Tuesday AND it was almost 8:00(late around these parts). They served us a nice loaf of homemade bread and hubby devoured half of that and said it was good. Curses to all the carbs… I didn’t get any. Add to that your basic salad with homemade dressing to make it better. My husband had home made lasagne… very home made and he devoured that too. I had the salmon with creamed spinach. It was acceptable, I ate almost all of it… but it wasn’t anything special. Can’t speak to their wine selection because mama needed a Gin/Tonic last night and hubby had a beer. The service was polite and efficient. The owner chatted us up a bit. All and all one of the better dinner experiences in Jackson. I’d also be fine with taking a customer here. It’s a nice place. For some reason it has $$$ on Unilocal. It’s by no means a $$$. My salmon dinner was $ 18 and the homemade lasagne was less than that.

I am not sure WHY this place ever got 5 stars. Horrible food and worse than horrible service. Sorry, we will not be back! Try Olive Garden instead… at least it is predictable. Oh, they do have a decent wine list…

Very homemade and delicious. We were on our way to Nashville and dropped in for lunch. I had minestrone soup — tasted like an Italian version of pot roast turned into soup — loved it! I followed with a small portion of eggplant which was more than this 250 pound guy could eat. Great flavor, crispy fresh eggplant covered with marinara and melted mozzarella. I might ask for my sauce on the side next time — want to enjoy more of the crispy crust. Service was excellent, music was relaxing and atmosphere was well let’s say, mid-south Italian. We will certainly will be back. This is a hidden gem worth seeking out. Just off the interstate — easy to get to.

Excellent service. Had the minestrone soup, Caesar salad & linguine. All very good. Nice ambience and décor with Italian music playing. Enjoyed it.

This place upholds the Jackson standard of mediocrity. They brag about making their own salad dressings, but they serve it on wilted, bagged salad, with carrots that are way past their expiration date. And I’ve had it served to me in this condition more than twice. This restaurant is a Jackson institution, so the quality of the food is oftentimes overlooked for the sake of keeping the doors open.

I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I live in little rock, and I would almost make the 5 hour drive just to go. Best Italian I’ve had! Great service!

Authentic Italian for over 40 years! We were in Jackson TN for the wine festival and this place was highly recommended by one of the winery owners. A bunch of us from the wineries decided to join him here for dinner. The service was fantastic. They were very accommodating to our large party that kept growing so we had to keep adding tables. I loved the way the restaurant was decorated. There was definitely an Italian wine feel. We started with a combo platter that included ravioli. There were many tempting entrée choices on the menu but I decided on the vermicelli con polo. It was a combination of all of my favorites. Thin spaghetti tossed with chicken, peas, mushrooms, and bacon covered in herbed butter. It was so fantastic that it will be very difficult to order anything else on my next visit.
