This is my go to spot for when i want good tasty tacos right away. It’s right up the block from my current & soon to be former apartment. The green sauce is the truth! The chorizo & al pastor tacos are the truth!!!

Damn. Another place I have not reviewed. This is a Taco joint. My second favorite food, after bbq. I am a cue guy at heart. Yay… Any way, I have been here a couple of times. Bottom line… delicious tacos. Carne enchilada is my go to Taco. I must admit I have not been here for a while, but I do remember it was a well balance Taco. What; «well balanced Taco». What is going on here. I am glad you ask. It is a Taco that has the right amount of veggies to protein ratio. Enough meat to satisfy the amount of toppings and enough toppings to satisfy the meat. Got it. Yes; ENJOY. Taco Veloz is one of the hundreds of Taco joints in Queens. Roosevelt Ave has a strong competition of places to go to and Taco Veloz does a good job. I always see a crowd when I walk by. Always a good sign. I have enjoyed a good Taco in the past and will do so in the future. Their Taco’s have«sabor» and their spicy sauce is hot. My kind of joint.

Still the best tacos north of San Francisco Tetlanohcan, Tlaxcala Always fresh and hot and the sauces are amazing. The carne asada is so flavorful. And the tastiest chorizo. After many years of just having their tacos, I finally branched out and tried something else. The burrito!!! OMG. So great!!! Now it will be tough to go back to the tacos. Hehehe

This is everything you could want in a taco spot– low prices, 24⁄7 service, and great food. I grabbed a carnitas, they gave me enough meat for 2 tacos!!! Plus large portions, what else can you find in a taco stand??? You can add your sauces and toppings right at the counter, no extra charge. Will definitely come back when in the area.

I accidentally missed my stop and ended up in Jackson Heights, so I spontaneously decided to get off for a quick snack. The highest rated spots in the area were taco joints, so I decided to check out Tacos Al Suadero; however, the menu lacked vegetarian options. I came here instead. I asked about a vegetarian taco option(It wasn’t on the menu) and she said there is one. The taco was loaded with ingredients(for only $ 2.50). Highlights include fresh oaxaca cheese and whole slices of avocado(as opposed to mashed/guacamole). Although it does also come with a small container of guacamole, which was great. The taco was a little cold though. While on line, an elderly woman demanded donations from me. I had seen her do the same to the patrons on line before me as well as the customers after me. Then, I overheard the latter say that the woman had been doing this for years. It’s also a HUGE pet peeve of mine when restaurants give you a range of dollar coins/coin denominations as your change(i.e. 5 dimes instead of 2 quarters). Sorry if I seem petty. Just want to make it clear what you might experience if you visit.

Three steps to taco success: 1. Order tacos at the counter(I got the steak and al pastor) 2. Add green sauce and a squeeze of lime 3. Savor the deliciousness 4. Order more tacos(in Spanish, since their English is limited) But seriously, these are the best tacos I’ve had in Nueva York. Genius points for putting a mini plate under each taco so it doesn’t get all over the place when you eat it at the counter.

I was in the area coming back from work and i was hungry. I remember this place is open 24⁄7. Why not try some tacos. I ordered 1 al pastor, 1 lengua taco and 1 polllo. I took my food to go, as i thoight i would best enjoy it home, NOT the food never made it home. So i had the al pastor, i can taste the pork and the seasonings but it was not amazing as i thouhht it would be. I had the lengua taco, this one did not even tickled my palate. The lengua was chewy hardly any flavor, although i did managed to drench my tacos all 3 of them with a runny avocado like green sauce the entire experience was just ok… now for me it was a disapointing experience. Perhaps next time i will try a torta? I think i want to give them a second chance. The guy at the counter was nice and for the value $ 8.50 with a bottle of water and 3 tacos… this is a dea l for sure. I will continie the quest for the ultimate taco.

Tacos Veloz is amazing for 3 reasons: 1. Authenticity 2. Consistency 3. Taste The tacos are always packed with the right amount. The tortas are great with all the right ingredients. I am of Mexican decent and I grew up eating Mexicam food all my life. I always feel comfortable eating there The 3 meats in my opinion that are great are: Chicken, Bistec(Beef) & Al Pastor(Spicy) You can order 3 tacos or 1 torta with a soda Additionally, the burritos are great served with rice ! The area can be alittle sketchy at a certain time, drunks and what not. Soo I would suggest it more as a to go place when it gets darker. Otherwise, love their food !

This is a neat spot. It’s standing room only, but the tacos were pretty good for $ 7, beats Chipotle by a mile. They even have free guacamole.

This place is perfect for lunch, dinner, mightnight snack, munchies, or drunchies. The price is fair for the amount of meat included in each taco. The meat is cooked well and I’ve yet to have any dried out tacos. However, if you’re looking for more then a snack, the burritos they make are a steal. The burrito itself is HUGE, and it comes with a side of rice. My personal favorite protein is lengua(cow tounge), which also is the reason I’m giving it the 5th star. Why? Well because its difficult to cook it. Many places that do offer this make it bland. Tl;Dr This place is so good, if I told you they sprinkled crack on it… You’d say«I knew something was up».

My fave for the street taco. Many flavors including Cecina, Lengua, & Chorizo… try the Carnita(fried pork) or the Pastor(roast pork) Tacos $ 2 Sodas in lata or botella This place has some of the best people watching in tha hood.

Short & Sweet: Cheap. Flavorful tacos. Al pastor I wish had it’s signature pineapple. You’re here for food, not décor. No guac. Even though looking after at pics they seem to serve it. Cheap. Conclusion: Take it to go, get some pineapples and guac. Then it’s 4 stars.

As far as I’m concerned, late night eats are a wonderful thing — especially in the form of tacos. Taco Veloz in all its grimy, divy glory gets a thumbs up for producing some of the better tacos along Roosevelt Ave. If one isn’t feeling the trucks, feel free to head on over here, where quality Mexican grub is served all day, all night. Start small with the tacos, which are slightly below the street standard at $ 2 each. Whether you’re all about the asada, cecina, chorizo, or carnitas, they do it well. It’s a little more expensive for premium meats like orejas(pig ears), lengua(beef tongue) or chivo(goat) but all worth it. I haven’t fared as well with the pollo or their al pastor, both key choices in any taco scene. The chicken isn’t as meaty but is more of a mesh of fat, skin, and other bits. This can be common with how some northern Mexican meats like carnitas, but it isn’t my favorite. Al pastor is always a great thing when they have a spit where they can trim the meat directly but there isn’t always one available. The cast of characters will vary from night to night, but the ambiance is as dodgy as any Mexican hole in the wall in Jackson Heights /Corona. The guys working the counter are a friendly bunch but English can be a bit limited. If speaking Spanish is at all a burden, relief can be found in the form of a picture menu.

Kay, for starters this place isn’t awful. Yes — I’m aware that that’s not the best way to begin a review, but as much as there is something about there food that rubs me the wrong way, I can’t deny that they are indeed cheap, tasty, filling and open late — which is really what took my rating of Taco Veloz from 3 stars to 4. My all time favorite Mexican Food/Taco spot in this hood is «Guadalajara de Noche»(go see my super detailed review: ) and at Taco Veloz I’ve had their chicken burrito and their steak, chorizo, al pastor and chicken tacos. I’ve had all these items(and more) at ‘Guadalajara de Noche’ and they’ve always been significantly better in terms of meat quality, cilantro freshness, not stingy with the cheese or limes and just tastier. Guadalajara’s(HUGE) downfall and the real reason that I’ve had to sacrifice quality, flavor, comfort of seating and price(usually a .50 — $ 1 different at most for the particular food items mentioned above) is because after like 10pm or so Guadalajara becomes a bit clubby and seedy male and(scantily clad) female seedy characters arrive and ruin my taco joint… At times I’ve braced it, held my head up high and gone in if I’m super hungry and don’t care — but it’s really at night time that Taco Veloz gets my business… although I don’t know what’s going to happen when it gets super cold out. Anywhoo, I know this isn’t the sweetest review ever, but this place isn’t really that bad. I feel as if I would like it so much more if I didn’t KNOW that tastier food existed literally RIGHTACROSSTHESTREET. If you’re alone and want a quick bite, definitely give these guys a shot. I’m pretty sure they’re family owned and I like that, I’m all for thriving small businesses and inexpensive noms. But honestly, skip the chicken here and go for the steal, chorizo or al pastor ;-).
