In a neighborhood that desperately needs liquor stores, this is really all we gots folks. A dearth of variety and options, I come here when I make impromptu get togethers at my place, as it’s on my way home from the subway. Dusty and a bit chaotic, it serves its purpose in the clutch, but I wouldn’t be able to stock my bar with their options (to use a hood term, I’m a bit boojie, lol).

This place is disgusting. I was shopping nearby and went in to get wine. Besides all the drunks hanging around outside, it was quite messy. I went to get my usual which I pay around 10 – 15 dollars and he tells me $ 20. What? I look around and the bottles that are usually 6.99 everywhere else he is selling for 18.99! Are people that gullible? I am not. Walked out and spent my money somewhere else!

Normal Liquor store, noting special. Like other stores, you have to buy at least $ 10 to use Credit /​Debit card. They do have decent selections compared to others in the area.

There are a few liquor stores in the area — and I’ve conveniently assigned personal nicknames to each. My nickname for Orchard is «the disorganized one.» Walk in and you’ll see why.
There is a decent selection and the prices are okay here but it’s definitely not my favorite place to go.

Long Island City, NY
This was the booze spot closest to my house so the one that was most frequented. It’s pretty tiny, but we knew the owner, and I must give him kudos for always saving me boxes. Those were clutch, at one point I’d moved about 12 times in 2 years, consistently in and out of the Heights, so those boxes saved my booty!
They have a cute dog, too.

Ithaca, NY
This is one of the other liquor stores in my neighborhood, not nearly as good as E&B Colony Wines, because it’s a little more expensive, they have terrible hours, and they barely have any wine or champagne. It’s much smaller, so I guess that’s expected, but nonetheless. The only time I go here, is on my way back from the subway, if I am feeling really lazy, and if I am positive they’ll have what I want.
