So expensive for what it is. And the food took over 40 minutes. Do not come here unless you have at least 2 hours to eat. There is so many wait staff working but they all suck. The fried seafood platter was good. The fish especially. I didnt care for the shrimp. The beef from the carne asada was over cooked and flavorless. All the rice and beans came out cold. The sopa marinera was not thick enough. And the maduros werent riped and undercooked. I want my 180 back! Oh and they automatically add on the gratuity.

Really great service, if you are looking around for a really good Ecuadorian place to eat look no further. Good for foodies, family unions and the food was amazing. Though our food was a bit late the manager automatically apologized and sent us a dessert she was so kind and respectful made all of us feel important.

BEST Corvina Apanada I’ve had in ages! This is indeed true Ecuadorian food. Though the plate was a little pricey but all in all worth the time and money. Will come back again

Food was okay, definitely not my goto for Ecuadorian cuisine. Service was disappointing, hostess might need some customer service pointers. Overpriced.

I used to love the food at Barzola. My family and I have been going there since they used to be at their Brooklyn location. Over the past few years their prices have increased, the amount of food they serve is smaller, and the quality of customer service has become very poor. Last night, my family and I(a total of 5 ppl) waited over one hour for food to arrive. When it finally arrived they only brought over 3 orders, one of which the food was cold. Two members of my party had to wait an additional 25 min(on top of the hour we had already waited). I was extremely disappointed as I looked around and realized that a lot of ppl in restaurant were also just sitting there waiting for food to finally arrive. On top of HORRIBLE service, they tried to charge 15% tip included on bill? I was able to have the tip fee removed from bill after complaining. I won’t be returning any time soon.

The owners and/or managers must have been switched recently because they food and service is horrible now. I am Ecuadorian so I would come here at least once a month but I will not be coming back ever. I invited my parents there on Sunday and I noticed the prices have gone up a lot and the portions have drastically been cut. An order of encebollado came in a very small bowl and cost $ 15.00. We ordered a cazuela de camaron and it was cold. The appetizer order of muchines, 3 came on the plate, were smaller then chicken nuggets. Will not recommend to anyone anymore. I will not even talk about the service because there was none and it was not even busy. They need better staff and they need to go back to decent portions and prices.

Barzola was once my favorite place to go for authentic Ecuadorian cuisine. as an Ecuadorian its really hard to find authentic restaurants. when I first went the food was excellent– a hidden gem in the Corona area. The place was so trendy! great food, music and drinks!!! enough space to open for a great night of dancing with Karaōke. However, in my most recent visit I got word from one of my relatives that Barzola was no longer the way it once was– and it was said to be true. On my last visit, the food was not as stellar. The crab and shrimp ceviche was over cooked. We were unable to order cocktails as the restaurant was only serving juices.(Not sure why? theres still a bar?)

All I can say is the food is good but it doesn’t excuse the horrible service you get when you come here. So the first and last time I come. Waited an hour to be seated and one more hour to get the food, which they brought out at all different times. Then another 30 minutes to get the check because they only have one POS machine. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else there is plenty of better choices in the area.

Go here if you love terrible food, loud obnoxious music and street fights every Saturday. Lowest of the low ‘restaurant’ bar that brings down the neighborhood.

Lovely place with warm décor. We got the cazuela de camaron and it was excellent! The portion was huge and very delicious. The Humitas were huge and very authentic. The Tropical brought back memories. Overall a great place with awesome food!

I ordered two encebollados for delivery and when I saw my order I wanted to scream! How can you charge me 16 bucks for an encebollado in a very small plastic container that was not even filled? I have had the encebollado at the restaurant and I am sure the portion on the plate is way more than the small container you guys sent me. My suggestion to anyone looking for delivery… avoid it! Going there is also stressful due to the inattentive staff… I will just avoid this place in the future because I have given it too many chances. My parents used to take me to eat at barzola when they were just one location in brooklyn in a basement(early to mid 90s), but it has just become too pretentious(just look at their prices) and too inconsistent so… GoodBye!

Became super expensive and they’ve literally cut the portions by at least 50%. Their reasoning is that it’s «exclusive food». This is crazy. Paid $ 5 for an ayaca which you can see is smaller than my finger. A casuela you can see in my picture is $ 19.99 and it fits in my hand. They’re nuts!!!

Only reason i don’t give it 5 stars is because i havent tried everything on the menu to know how good it is(lol)…i LOVE this place, hands down the best Ecuadorian restaurant in Queens and Brooklyn(besides my mothers ofcourse, lol). The Cazuela de Pescado is to die for!.. only thing is i wish the rice portions were bigger, i alway have to order an extra(maybe its just me). Anyways, love the atmosphere. service a little slow but not too bad. bolons are amazing!.. if you are looking for good Ecuadorian food, you must come here!

Having dined at this Ecuadorian restaurant in the past, I was not very thrilled with their dishes. After their piece on «Restaurant Stakeout», I decided to give it another shot. I wanted to give this place a higher rating but the price of their ceviche prevents me from doing so. their shrimp ceviche, an Ecuadorian staple, is good. But, not good enough to justify the $ 16 that they charge. I will say that of all the nearby Ecuadorian restaurants in the area, their ceviche is a little better, but not by much. $ 16 for 8 – 10 pieces of shrimp and LOTS of broth is not value for your money. It also prices out the majority of the Ecuadorians that live in the neighborhood. Put a few more shrimp in the ceviche and give your customers value for their money. The service is just ok. Not bad, but not spectacular. Remember, a good service tends to make the expensive food a little easier to swallow.

I have been here many times with my wife and inlaws. If you don’t mind a wait, the food is very good. I have had most things on the menu, and I love the calde gallina. I hope I spelled it right. The bollo is awesome, too.

Dear foodies, don’t be fooled by the average 3 stars this place has. It is one of the best in the area. I came in with friends and the waitress was energetic and seemed to enjoy her job, which makes the environment more welcoming. She might be new since previously I see people posted that the servers were rude. As for the food itself I had the special which was sopa de camarron and that came with rice, a piece of thin steak and an avocado salad for only $ 7. There was not a lack of shrimp in the soup which I really appreciated since places can be stingy about that. The taste of the soup itself was good, not salty or lacking flavor. good. I did not care much for the rice or steak but I am not a rice person. The plate also came with pineapple juice, which tasted refreshing. My friend let me try her llapinganchos and though they lacked a bit of flavor, I felt like I had a pretty authentic Ecuadorian dish.

This restaurant will be the death of me lol(pretty dramatic huh) no but really, is real authentic Ecuadorian food. when we go here we drive from Staten Island all the way to Jackson heights because we love their food. We can never just order one plate. Try their Ensebollado de pescado and the Cazuela de mariscos, and the Empanadas de Verde and the Chaulafan oh and you must have a Bollo and Bolon and Llapingacho I could go on forever. My favorite drink is the Mojito de Maracuja which is a passion fruit mojito but there Piña Colada is very good too. Its a must try.

I just finished eating here and OMG, yumm! To be honest, I was here once before years back and was not impressed. A friend and I really wanted Ecuadorian food today so decided to give it another shot. We shared the ceviche mixto de camaron y concha negra. delicious! My friend who was having Ecua food for the first time got the Seco de Chivo which I tasted of course was perfection and he loved it! can’t wait no come back and try more of my classic faves!
