Sat in the wrong theater for a half hour until someone came in and told us the tickets were misprinted. By the time we got into the correct theater we were stuck in the crappy seats! So annoyed!!!

The movie theater was big and seemed like it would be a great place for me and my husband to see a movie but when we got there it was over packed and we waited in a very long line to buy popcorn the people working there are very rude. We bought two hot dogs and there was no ketchup. We asked to get a refund because there was no ketchup and they did not want to give us a refund they said there is just no ketchup in the whole building… Took 15 – 20 for them to find ketchup. Please go somewhere else.

This place is terrible, first there are no ushers to quite those noisy viewers, and when I went to go look for one there was no one in sight. But when the movie was over there was a group of ushers standing outside by theatre 12 cussing and using the«N» word, saying f***k that n****r several times. Now they were all African American but really does that make it right. Its a shame but I have been going to this place for years and have steadily noticed it going down hill.

The worst theater in Houston! Employees are rude, the first movie starts at 11:30 am and they open at 11:30 am. That makes no sense to me, I like to buy my popcorn and sit before the movie starts.

I’m a huge fan of this place. It’s by far the cheapest place in the Houston area to watch a movie. ~$ 8 for a regular nighttime movie, really nice leather chairs, clean facilities. Every other place in Houston is expensive and not really worth it. Now, note that this place does tend to get a little sketchy at times, but I’m alright with that. Worth the drive if you live more central.

I’ve been here plenty of times and for the price, it WAS ok. I still come every now and again when I visit with my sisters, but it’s gone a bit downhill while prices have risen. On busy nights like Friday’s, they sometimes don’t have enough people to purchase tickets from so lines get really long. Speaking of long lines, same thing tends to happen at the food counter. Inside it does smell… either like buttery popcorn, toilets or both, but like Houston’s own putrid smell, you get used to it fairly quickly. Restrooms are usually decently clean, theaters are a hit or miss. Sometimes there’s a bunch of crap littered on the floor, drinks spilled on the floor and seats, sticky arm rests, sometimes it’s perfectly clean. Prices are just outrageous for everything, but you should already know that. I’ll keep coming here when I visit the east side, but only because it’s the only theater in the area.

I thank God for Tinseltown every time I come home to Houston. I live in San Diego and only about twice a year do I get to come back to Texas where gas is cheaper, rent is cheaper, and best of all, there’s Tinseltown. In California, if you want to see a movie, expect to pay about $ 10 for your ticket. And then if you want food or treats at the concession stand? $ 15 more dollars. But luckily I can come to Tinseltown when I’m on leave and see a matinée for FOUR dollars. That’s right 4. I think if you come in the evenings they bump it up to $ 6 or something, but still. Thats a right sight better than you’d be paying anywhere else. Granted, the popcorn and etc. are still going to be pricey, but at least you can see a movie with 4 people for under $ 20 bucks on an afternoon. The theaters may not be the swankiest and the other patrons may not be the finest citizens of Houston, but honestly, if you want to go to the movies for cheap, Tinseltown is the place to do it.

Here we have the Entertainment mecca of beautiful downtown Jacinto City. When this theatre opened, residents were sort of in a state of shock that Patrick Swayze would open a theater in Jacinto City. Yes he did. Patrick Swayze opened this and operated it until he died.

Okay, so I know this is actually a reflection upon the side of town we live on, but since Unilocal is kind enough to have us review the individual store as opposed to the corporation as a whole, I feel justified in giving it a 2. Really, I’m tempted to go lower, but I think that’s my grumbling tummy making me grumpy at the cafeteria that doesn’t open for another 15 minutes. This theater, being the only thing within 20 minutes from our house, happens to look nice on the outside. Hell, even from the inside it isn’t all that bad. The area is surrounded by busy chains(there’s a Chili’s, Joe’s, Bennigans, and Pappas within walking distance), so you’d think that the theater would be okay too. And you’d be right for the most part. Except after sundown. Like vampire, pimply teens with too much time on their hands flock to the theater to hang out. Not necessarily to watch a movie. But to hang out. Or make out. Or eat over priced food. Or play the arcade. Or make out. That would be fine(though annoying). But what also comes out after dark are the shady gang-like crowds. I avoid using the actual word gang since my husband(a former teacher on the East-side) would go into a long lecture about the differences between real gangs and what our version of gangs are on this side of town. Regardless of title, they are scary little punk kids with way too much anger. The parking lot is not very well lit, there are always kids milling around between cars(and of course, they’ll be by your car since that’s how luck would have it), and you’ll definitely find yourself walking very briskly to get the hell outta there. The midnight showing of the most recent Harry Potter was the worst. There are little kids everywhere dressed up in costumes and all these parents have this look of terror on their face. Not good. Plus, with all the rain in Houston, it doesn’t help the atmosphere of the theater. I suppose I shouldn’t complain and should just drive my lazy butt to another theater and I plan to do so in the future, but I felt the need to warn anyone who isn’t a 300 lbs linebacker to avoid that particular theater after dark. Scary.
