Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience with this office. We went for a consultation and their office simply would not cooperate or communicate with our regular dentist regarding their recommendations and assessments. Dr. Gessel sent a form with a note scribbled on it after the evaluation and said, «Give this to your regular dentist. They’ll understand what this means.» When I emailed a copy to my regular dentist, they said they needed further information. So I called and asked for clarification from Angolkar’s office. They would not provide further information. So our regular dentist office called and asked for clarification, and it took over a month to get someone to call back. Probably worse than that, my dentist was concerned with the evaluation of the doctor at Angolkar’s office. He recommended I get a second opinion. So I called Angolkar’s office and asked for a copy of the records and scans. I was informed that I would have to pay $ 150 for these records. So I asked if they would at least send the records to the regular dentist. They declined and said the regular dentist had to call and ask themselves. And so another month of phone calls ensues. I have never experienced refusal to give records and run-around like this. We are seeing another orthodontist now and definitely will not be returning to Angolkar’s office.

Perhaps it’s a little premature to be reviewing the orthodontist, seeing as the kids have only *started* the process of braces, but Angolkar is a pretty awesome place. The staff is efficient, friendly, fast and easy to deal with. They willingly get all 3 kids in at the same time for every appointment so far, and without a long wait weeks into the future. Every time we’ve arrived early, they also manage to see us early as well. The Orthodontist is awesome. At our first appointment, he brought all of us into the same office after his initial exam and wrote out a treatment plan for each child. He carefully explained all the steps, the importance of taking care of the braces and everything one could expect for each child. Allowing us, as a family, to participate in the process and understand what would be coming for each of them. And he managed to do so without that preachy jerk tone some Dr. s and Dentists like to get about brushing or other healthy habits. It’s a little out of the way in a residential corner far on Sunset, but parking is pretty accessible with a small lot and street options. The lobby is very nice and accommodating. The music overhead sucks, though, but I suppose it’s not their fault. It’s just streaming a local«easy listening» station.
