Super chill atmosphere, funny and friendly bartenders, great drink prices, awesome deck and ocean views. Don’t come hungry as they have not yet reopened their kitchen.

Love the Dead Animal Bar as a local told me it was called as I had to stop in for a little late night beer. Beer was cheap and they had pool and darts which made for a good Thursday night hang out, if your staying up by Bud and Mary’s it’s a solid bar to stop in and have a cold one.

Low price beers and live music on Tuesday. Easy casual place to hang out. Many taxidermy creatures on the walls. Black rhino over looks the bar

A locals hangout, next to the Caloosa Cove marina. Affectionately known to the locals as the dead animal bar. It is a true dive with one pool table and a juke box. You can have a bit of fun here.

Definitely not your typical Keys tourist bar. My brother-in-law introduced me to this truly unique«locals» bar. A friendly atmosphere, a beautiful Atlantic Ocean view with cold beer and cold a/c.

Myself and several of my friends, all young looking guys(21 and 22) entered the safari lounge and almost immediately after entering we were rudely told to leave immediately, we were being stared down by the other employees and several of the bars occupants. This is NOT a bar for young people, or anyone who is not a local.

I just left Safari Lounge hoping for a good experience; if you want one, don’t go here. I’ve always heard of local bars that don’t like anyone but locals. It’s very true of this place. I’m 25. A minute after walking in the door, I was greeted by an angry local who said, «If you’re under 21, leave now.» I told him, «The sign on the door says after 9pm no one under 21 is allowed in.» He simply said, «Leave.» I said, «Okay.» And left without him ever knowing I was a 25 year old potential patron who was about to bring a few friends for a night of pool and drinks. The business just lost out on a few good customers and a good review. Hopefully they won’t continue to be so unwelcoming of non-locals in the future.

This place is amazing, in a locals hangout/dirty interior/everyone smoking inside kind of way. But don’t let that discourage you. The people were friendly… we were greeted with a resounding«hello» by patrons when we entered, despite being the only people there who didn’t seem to know everyone else at the bar. The views here are stunning — right on the ocean with a gazebo and sand volleyball court right outside. The prices certainly couldn’t be beat… we haven’t had a beer that cheap in ages. No food except bags of chips at the bar, fyi. This place is definitely worth a stop on our next trip through the keys!

You can still smoke here, so you can imagine how bad it smells. Good prices, nice bartender and no problem parking. But then it’s off season and the snowbirds are still up north.

Friendly Keys atmosphere… without the typical HIGH Florida Keys prices. Yuengling draft $ 2.25… out-freakin’-standing!!!

My boyfriend’s parents live on a boat in the Keys, right near the Safari Lounge. When we went to visit last year, the first night I had a total panic attack on the boat. Waaaayyy to small and close quarters for my taste, I’m a bit clausterphobic. So, what could make this feeling go away? Beer, of course. We wandered across the parking lot to the safari. And we went back for the next two nights that we were in town. On the first night, we got an handmade Christmas card from a guy sitting down the bar from us. The second night we played pool with Daryl, who rocks, and the third night we were invited to their locals Christmas party. It was like home. And did I mention that Yuengling lagers were only two and quarter?!
