Dear Islamorada Outfitters,
My friends and I have been renting boats here for Memorial Day Weekend for the last few years, except for last year when we waited too long to call and you guys were already booked. Oops. LOL You guys have come to know us, although sometimes I think we might be a pain in your butts, but I swear we don’t mean to turn the boat in late — time just seems to escape us in the Keys.
For people that want to do the traditional Memorial Day Weekend party on the Sandbar, this is definitely the place to rent from because the distance is super close, which means less $$ in boat gas. There are half and full day rentals, which for any regular weekend trip to the Keys is really a plus. One can do a half day of fishing for less than the price of renting a couple of jet skis for just an hour.
The docks here are ample, which makes it easier for inexperience boaters, and the staff gives a full explanation of the boat, where to go, what to see, how to call in an emergency, etc. before anyone can even take off. You’re so diligent with the safety rules! A rule of thumb is that the boat has to be returned with as much gas as it was taken out with, but luckily there’s a fueling station at the entrance of the cove.
For any Keys adventure, this is a great place to rent a boat. Happy boating!

Kelly and the friends at Islamorada Outfitters can help you out. Their rates are reasonable and boat rentals can be half day or full day 9−5pm. The staff gives you a basic 101 course on boating and the boats are actually really nice and well kept packed with all essentials such as life jackets, flares, etc. There is a $ 500 refundable deposit and fuel charge upon return. Be sure to return your boat on time if not you may be charged additional fees. Location is great and renting a boat is a great way to travel the Florida Keys.
