Picasso’s Cafe

I’ve been here many times over the past 5 years or so. They are located on the east side of Irwindale Avenue, south of the 210 fwy. You can turn in from Gateway Bus Dr. which is at a stop light. They have both indoor and patio seating. You can order online and they also cater. Note that they are only open on the weekdays from 7:00am to 2:30pm. They serve Starbucks coffee here.
The food itself including the bakery items have been hit or miss. I’ve tried their cheesecakes, fudge, cupcakes, and cookies. The cookies are not that great, but I do like their cheesecake. I also tried one of their special of the day drinks (like a berry lemonade or something) which I didn’t like. The seared ahi tuna wrap is decent and some of their other salads and pastas.
The biggest deterrent for me personally are their prices. In this particular area, there’s nothing to eat. There’s McDonald’s, Farmer Boys, a food truck comes every weekday at noon by the health clinic and then there’s Picasso’s. For more options you have to go down Irwindale towards Arrow or travel to other cities (Azusa, Covina, Duarte).
For a salad, sandwich, panini, or a wrap, expect to be out around $ 12-​$ 15 and that’s without a beverage. A salad by itself from their Garden Landscapes section is already $ 13 (I’m not referring to the Garden Salad. $ 5.95-$ 6.95) My friend and I have ordered to go plenty of times. Multiple times, they’ve forgotten items completely and you have to go back. For example, one time they forgot our drink and another time they forgot our dessert. So I recommend checking your order carefully before you leave.

This place was recommended by my coworkers. I ordered a takeout for lunch to be picked up at 1115. Two pasta dishes and a wedge salad. I phoned on my my order because they are slow but their food is good. When I went to pick up my order, they did not have my wedge salad. They forgot to make it! I’m glad I checked. I brought the lunch over to coworker. She had the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. When she opened her takeout, she found a long black hair in the pasta. I was so mortified and embarrassed!!’

I go to Picasso’s because they are so convenient. Always disappointed. The café staff is very nice.

Ok, listen up! So I do not believe in slamming someone for messing up… but the crew at Picasso’s messed up today. Only my second time here, drove over from Pasadena… rep is good food… which is true. So we order, and sit… and sit… and sit… after 25 minutes, I go to counter… and for some unknown, never explained, our order was never processed. No apology, no explanation, no nothing… very disappointed in their handling

Over priced, lacks flavor on certain items. Pastries not fresh. Not worth the décor or hype. Sometimes a place looks better than what it truly is, this is one of them. Very mediocre at its minimum, nothing exciting.

I dont see what is so special about this place. Expensive. Nice diner. I suppose for catering it might be nice.

Hidden in an industrial plaza, this business is also a catering company. The food is high end deliciousness. The menu is so massive, you’ll hold up the line deciding. They serve you in real plates and cutlery. No plastics. But the cups are all Starbucks cups even for ice tea or soda, strange and cheesy. They offer daily specials like salmon in lobster sauce with rice pilaf and roasted veggies. They have salads with substantial portions mostly greens. Not a comfortable place to split plates. The foods good you won’t want to share anyways. They are building a metro station within walking distance. I think this place is only open for lunch.

Very nice décor, and the restroom is very clean. The food menu is varied and everything looks very good in the glass cases. I had a turkey pesto panini. It was very good. Just wish breakfast went past 10am.

California turkey wrap!!! Always so fresh and very filling! I was only able to eat half of it! The cucumber salad is also extremely delicious and fresh. They aren’t cheap with their servings. Overall my lunch was very satisfying. I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so.

In the area for work and very little to choose from. Decided on a Chef salad and drink thinking it would be quick, wrong on that. Menu is expensive, only the Daily Deal is under $ 10. Total for a salad and soda was $ 14.25 and the salad was nothing special, but took over 15 minutes to come out.

I’ve been here at least a dozen times. Came today with a friend and ordered a panini sandwich to share with tomato cucumber salad.
After a few people who ordered after us received their meals, we went up to see what happened. 25 minutes later, we had our sandwich to share. They didn’t even offer an extra plate… They knew we were sharing because we discussed it with the young lady who took our order. Oh well, napkins work as a plate too, I guess.
I enjoyed the salad. The sandwich didn’t have a lot of flavor (especially the chicken). Seems like things are not quite as good as they used to be, especially for the price. Very disappointed.

Got a groupon as a gift for this place. Ordered one of their daily special, a sandwich, and a lemon tart. Everything was delicious. Portion was good. Very satisfied.

I always enjoy eating here when I’m in town. They have delicious sandwiches, It’s a excellent spot for a quick lunch. I absolutely recommend coming here.

I bought a groupon worth $ 20 and went here for the first time recently. I ordered a sandwich and my boyfriend ordered spaghetti. The coupon is redeemed and I still have a balance of $ 14. $ 34 in total for a greasy slop of spaghetti and a tasteless sandwich. Also, when using the groupon they charge an automatic 18% for the tip. OK, so they serve your food then. Well we order and sit to wait for our food and the «server» drops off the food and leaves. The whole time I was there I got up myself to get a refill and to get more napkins. Not even worth any 18%. Needless to say, I will not be returning here.

This is a great little place for lunch! The hours are limited and its kinda tucked away but I must say I enjoyed the food a lot! Its very casual and you’ll hear plenty of work conversation amungst the tables.
I had an Ahi Tuna sandwich on freshly made ciabatta bread and the veggie pasta on special. Both great and filling.
I will be back again!

Words cannot describe the gem I found in the small community in Irwindale! As soon as you walk in you feel like your in an Art Museum surrounded by Picassos art! The colors, checkered flooring makes you feel like your in a Art Deco arena with jazzy background music not too loud but very relaxing to the sight and sound. Most of all the food is amazing and LARGE! My lunch was enough to take home for later since I could not drive back so soon:(.
A definite must see and worth it!

I only come here because it is convenient for me since I work in the same business center. The food decent but extremely overpriced for what you get. They serve Starbucks coffee, which I have to admit that I come to get once in a while and also an assortment of other coffee drinks. I have also catered from here for company meetings and the only thing I would suggest ordering is the spaghetti and meatballs. It might cost you an arm and a leg but the meatballs are pretty good. Big chunks of tender and moist meat packed together into a meatball and marinara sauce to add additional flavor.
Besides that, if you have the means to do it, then go somewhere else. There is a Starbucks down the street and a bunch of other restaurants in the area… The food is good but not worth the price you pay.

I came here for a catered event for Sammi 1^st birthday. Although I know most of the decorations were provided by the host and not vendor, I liked that they tried incorporate the theme into the settings.
We had Catering which included spaghetti, rolls, sandwiches, desserts. The food was pretty good. Nothing too fancy and nothing that tasted horrible.
Overall — cute place for Catering event or even as a caterer.

You wouldn’t think how a upper end café could hang around in a industrial city like Irwindale but Picasso’s Café has certainly accomplished this since 1989. It was during the week and I told my clients I would bring lunch in for three. I arrived around 11:30 am and found superb parking.
The selection here is large and the quality is upscale. Good selection of pastas, sammies, salads, wraps and Panini. I opted for three 8″ Italian submarine sammies, bags of chips, can sodas and a couple of apricot and raspberry bars for dessert. The sammies were solid — quality salami, capicola, mortadella, smoked provolone, lettuce, tomato, oil, and vinegar packed into a French roll and accompanied with a claussen kosher and pepperoncini. When I arrived to my clients another employee had arrived but there was plenty of food for all four. We thoroughly enjoyed the yummy food and the dessert bars were a nice finishing touch.
Total bill came out to just over $ 50.00 and service was spot on. One of the waitresses assisted me bringing the food out to my car since I had my laptop with me.
I’ll be returning to Picasso’s again, BTW Picasso’s caters and they serve breakfast and offer Starbucks coffee.
