Fast friendly service!!! Everything looked so delicious but i went for the pernil and yellow rice with gravy. I will definitely be returning. Parking is on the street so be mindful of what yime of day you go. You may not be able to find parking. If you do find parking, it’ll be worth it. y meal was $ 7 and it was so filling. I will be returning. I’m so glad this place here. They definitely add to the diversity in Irvington in a good way!

ALWAYSASKPRICEBEFOREHAND!!! I stopped by to pick up some food to go. I ordered the chicken empanadas, roast chicken with rice and beans, and oxtails with rice and beans. The whole order came out to $ 17. I didn’t realize until after I left(and looked at their fb page) that I was overcharged for the dishes(should have been $ 14) and that’s the reason why I gave the place 1 star instead of 2. The empanadas were mainly the dough shell with very little filling. The chicken inside was slightly seasoned but very dry. The empanadas are deep fried so they are greasy and not at all flaky(which is how I like them). I wouldn’t recommend just because of the pastry to filling ratio and the lack of flavor. The food was decent. The roast chicken was moist and the oxtail was flavorful. I recommend when you are ordering to let the person behind the counter know that you don’t want too much rice otherwise you’ll end up with mainly rice as your entrée. I’m not sure if I would come back again, not just because they overcharged me, but also there are so many great choices in the neighborhood.

Great pernil asado(roast pork). Great empanadas(tried a beef and a chicken). I left off a star because the portion of beans was fairly small given 2 entrees purchased. Next time I’ll order an extra side of beans. Ridiculously inexpensive as well.

Good authentic food, nice people, decent price. Hubby and I got food and ate dinner inside. We brought our own bottle of wine and they opened it for us and provided us glasses.

I thoroughly enjoyed my food, especially the steak. Do not come here on a diet! The only dish I didn’t care for was the garlic shrimp… way over cooked. Otherwise, delish!

I give this place a 5 for appearance, cleanliness, delicious food, more than reasonable prices, lovely staff(owner and Rosa), and consistency! I love Dominican food and can’t always get to Washington Heights. So, while in Jersey I’m always on the lookout for delicious Latin food. Use to frequent El Merengue(check out my review), but I’ve discovered a new local spot. Boy it feels good to move on to something much better. All I have to say is: stew chicken, stew beef, stew pork, white rice, red beans, black beans and rice, potato salad, fried plantain, mofongo, and much, much more. This place is solid every time. If they relocated, I’d hunt them down. EATHERE!!! Down
