Jerk Village Caribbean Cusine

I ordered at 12:30 and my order arrived at 3pm. The manager called to apologize and offered to include an extra item off the menu to make up for it. Nothing was included… Sad all around. The place needs new management. What a disaster…
Edit: My brother ordered a Shish Kabob and there were two extra in the foil to make up for the late delivery.
***Bottom line if you can’t place an order on time to an area call to cancel and refund the order so the customer has time to find something else.

I order from here almost daily. The jerk chicken is authentic and fresh, the mac and cheese is one of a kind! The cabbage has the right amount of heat to it! You can choose from an array of sauces, sweet to inferno. Myself and 2 co-​workers ordered the Tacos today for the first time and they were amazingly GREAT! The sauce on them was just awesome!!! Instead of taco Tuesday’s they should be added to the daily menu! I’m always satisfied with my order which had been daily for almost 2 months

This place is amazing ! Very welcoming … most of all the food is above and beyond tasteful! If u haven’t been goooooooo… if u have been tell a friend to tell a friend :)

Authentic Caribbean jerk chicken, best I’ve had so far in New Jersey. Can’t go wrong with the extra hot sauce.

I was visiting an old friend from high school over the weekend in NJ and we decided to order from this restaurant since we were both craving caribbean food. First, delivery took over one hour and when it finally arrived part of our order was missing. Since the delivery took so long we didn’t bother calling the restaurant to complain or seek a resolution.
The food looked really appeasing to the eye however I found it to be very tasteless. Their speciality is jerk however from the different items I ordered none of them had that real Jamaican Jerk «sting» or «hotness» I actually don’t think this is an authentic Jamaican Jerk restaurant but I could be wrong. My mother is originally from the Caribbean and I know what jerk food is supposed to taste like! The fish that I ordered tasted fresh (and not in a good way). The sweet plantains was not sweet but instead dry and tough (I think they cooked it too soon before it was ripe).
On another note the beef patties were also disappointing. I was expecting authentic beef patties because once I saw the name «Jerk Village» I assumed everything was going to be Jamaican style… The beef patties tasted like ground beef in a triangular crusted dough. It’s a cool twist by the chef but I would have preferred classic old fashion beef patties. Overall, I was not satisfied with the food.

They have a $ 15 buck minimum for delivery which is fine however my order came up to 14.98 and they wouldn’t not deliver without me buying something to drink. When I get my food there’s no drink yet I was charged for it. Don’t order from here. Why lose 14.98 for .2 cents?

This food was horrible. The rice was hard, The food was cold. the sauce was sour, the mac and cheese was salty and sour. I tried this for the first time. I feel like throwing up Uhhh I need a shower that’s how bad and disgusted I feel. Unnecessary calories. Booooo Boooo to you, ya jerks.

These guys are bringing a modern touch to service with real jerk chicken made on the proper grill. They do delivery through both Eat24 and GrubHub, and they accept credit cards, which is rare for this kind of authentic cooking.

my girlfriend and i are from San Francisco and just passing thru town, so this was our first time eating in Irvington. but damn. this place made it an extra special stay. bomb jerk chicken, delicious sides (the rice & peas are solid but you HAVE TO get the sweet plantains), and several appetizing sauces to choose from (we loved the spicy ones).
they just opened but i’m sure they’ll be in business with food this good :)
