Southwest Granite and Marble

Southwest Granite & Marble installed granite countertops in the kitchen of our new (to us) house as part of a kitchen remodel. They had previously done work in our previous house, with acceptable results.
Unfortunately, they failed miserably this time around. First, they were delayed in doing the work, revising their arrival time throughout the day and finally not making it at all until the next day (Saturday). Unfortunately, I lost most of a day’s work because I was cooling my heels waiting for them to arrive that Friday.
Then, after assurances from the owner that we were their only job that Saturday and they would arrive by 9 a.m., his install team finally made it around 2 p.m. and informed me on arrival that their first activity would be lunch…
They finally got the job done, which included countertops and an undermount sink. They finished around 5 p.m. — another full day of my time blown…
About 3 weeks later, the undermount sink they provided and installed dropped for no apparent reason — the epoxy holding it in simply gave way.
I contacted the owner (Kevin Mason), who admitted this was their installer’s fault and they would fix it the next day. Unfortunately, after that conversation, Kevin stopped accepting our phone calls or returning our voice mail messages.
Talking with other granite professionals since then, every one of them agreed the fault lay with the installation.
I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but they have informed me that Southwest Granite & Marble failed to reply to them, as well.
To this day (5 months since installation), Mr. Mason and Southwest Granite have failed to correct their work.
What happened to this company who treated us right in the past but so horrendously this time? I don’t know. But I’m very disappointed and will not use Mr. Mason’s company again.
