I was in the area and noticed San Diego Taco Shop. This was my first time at this location. I have been to the location in North Richland Hills but I’m not sure if all locations are owners by the same person. I ordered a fajita taco without onions and a carne asada taco without guacamole. I just thought the tacos were ok and I probably wouldn’t make a special trip to order from them again. The meat was not seasoned that well and like others have mentioned the meat was dry and chewy. I ate half of the fajita taco and I tasted the meat in the carne asada taco. Nothing special at all. Their customer service is great so that’s always a plus. I will just stick to the location in Norht Richland Hills for my quick taco fix and carne asada French fries.

The food here is pretty good(granted, I’m a white guy from Chicago). They give you a LOT of food for the price. I tried some of the burritos and I found them pretty bland, but the combos provide a nice assortment of food.

Went yesterday for lunch. Carnitas street tacos were juicy and tasty and the refried beans were good too. I would like to go back for breakfast(menudo on weekends)

Went here yesterday off of a recommendation of a friend that lives in town and I really liked everything I ordered. I got a wide assortment of tacos and an order of rolled tacos and it did not last long at all. The pork was seasoned well and the beef was juicy. My corn tortillas were decent but not a deal breaker but the red and green sauce available was really good. The drink prices were a little steep in my opinion but the food prices helped balance that out. The staff were friendly enough but nothing overly exciting but they are not rude which is a good thing. I will return to try what I couldn’t fit onto my tray or budget because the food was great.

Went by there just after 7 am this morning and they weren’t open… got home and checked Unilocal and it shows they should’ve opened at 6am.

Worst mistake I ever made… my burrito feind boyfriend didn’t finish his chicken burrito … that says a lot.. The chicken was hard and stringy… as if it was left over chicken from a few days ago. .and the flavor was nonexistent. I ordered a fish taco… not expecting … 2 fish sticks on it… smh. overcooked at that …

Okay, this place is absolutely AWFUL. My boyfriend and I are HUGE taco people, THE taco people. I’m talking real, authentic, greasy, flavor-packed tacos.(24⁄7 tacos in Garland is our #1 go to) But this particular night, we were passing through Irving on our way home from visiting a friend when we saw this little place and thought«why not ?» The man that took our order was just your regular disenchanted, unenthused, run-of-the-mill fast food employee. He was neither helpful nor accurate. But, we are food people, so we brushed off this guys poor attitude, and decided to take our food togo. I ordered the carne asada fries extra crisp with added lettuce, onions, and cilantro(per one Unilocal reviewers recommendation). Upon opening them, I realize my fries are neither crispy, nor do they have lettuce/onion/cilantro. I shrugged it off, not a big deal enough to ruin it for me, I didn’t even bother walking back inside to have my order corrected, I was just hungry. After the first bite, I quickly noticed the carne asada was fatty and bland. The guac was nothing but green much with no flavor other than«mashed up avocado». I will say the cheese was plentiful and tasty, but nothing special. My boyfriend ordered two fish tacos and a fajita taco. Ok, these fucking tacos were made with FROZENFISHSTICKS. Are you serious !!! FISHSTICKS ??? He said the sauce on them was good but that hardly made up for the train wreck of a «fish taco». The fajita meat, again, was bland and unsatisfying. Their tortillas were good, though. After this experience, we thought maybe we caught them on a bad night. A few hours after eating, my boyfriend and I were both so sick from this place that we vowed to NEVER go back. I don’t give one star reviews ever, but San Diego Tacos is TRULY, TRULYTERRIBLE.

I’ve only had breakfast burritos here, but I’m already hooked. They are huge AND cheap($ 3.50)! I wish I could stop here every morning to have a breakfast burrito, but that wouldn’t be good for me. They also have horchata, which is the bomb. I haven’t tried any of their non-breakfast items yet, but I’ll be back.

The tacos are here are great! I was surprised with the size of the tortillas and the amount of toppings. Their red salsa and green tomatillo salsa are both very good as well. I ordered two fajita beef tacos and a chicken fajita taco with a limon agua fresca(lemonade). Way more food than I could handle for less than $ 7 bucks. I will definitely be back again the next time I’m in the area!

I have been in search for authentic Mexican food since I move to DFW. The carne asada is delish, the food is fresh, and best of all … The prices are very affordable! Definitely coming back!

So beyond disgusting! Complete waste of money and time! I love carne asada fries and was hoping these would be added to my list of favorites as well… NEGATIVE! The carne asada is super fatty and bland. Everything else is tasteless too. Even the little red salsas aren’t good. $ 10.27 for these and a bottle of coke, ripe off!

Food was ok. Meat had good flavor, was excellent but they put avocado over everything. Torta was dry but edible. The carna asada fries where ok also.

Pretty much what you’d expect from a drive through taco shop. Gave it 4 stars because the food is good for what it is — reviewers expecting fancy Mexican obviously won’t find it here — but someone who wants take out tacos will enjoy.

On a scale of THOT to video vixen, this restaurant would be THOT, but that doesn’t stop it from being a great option for a late night Tex-Mex bite if you happen to be in the area. The nachos and enchiladas are great options for first-timers. When I want to make poor decisions about meals or when all the other«good» spots are closed, this is where I come. They are the ‘gourmet’ option if you are comparing it to Taco Bell or Taco Cabana.

It’s a nice option to have in the Valley Ranch area considering there’s not much over here. Definitely try the tacos with corn tortillas, fresh onion & cilantro. I’ve been to the Story Rd. location & this one is definitely better. Their chips have a tad too much oil for my liking though. Hot salsa rocks! Ask for extra. Both the green & red went perfect with the tacos. So, skip the chips go for the tacos(barbacoa mmmmhmm) and you should be good to go!

Have you ever heard of early morning crazing?(and I mean way early like 5:00am) We had one of those days after coming home from international travel. Due to the jetlag, I woke up 4:00am in the morning hungry for lunch and started looking in the fridge to find snack. But when the mind wants lunch, it wants lunch. For whatever reason I started looking in Unilocal for the open restaurants at 6:00am and there it was not to far away. The food is fresh, authentic and reasonably priced. Long story short we had a huge lunch at 6:30am in the morning and was very satisfied. For all the mexican food lovers out there … try this place and you will not be disappointed.

Most authentic and best tasting Mexican food place I’ve seen since my move here 5 months ago. Tastes like all the Mexican food restaurants back home in Arizona. It’s cheap, delicious, portions are huge, and have you had carne asada fries?

I really love Mexican street tacos, so from stumbling on this place on Unilocal and seeing it was close to my new office, I decided to give this place a try. This place isn’t a fuel city/town, but they were okay. I ordered the carnitas, barbacoa and a coworker had the fajita tacos. We also split an order of the Carne Asada fries, as I’ve never had them before and from other Unilocalers reviews, it seemed like a must have. Since I have limited time during my lunch breaks, I opted to use the drive-thru, the tortillas for the tacos were sooo greasy, almost like they were swimming in grease/oil; that didn’t bother me too much. The meat was sub-par, nothing really stood out, including the salsa. The green salsa was just meh, the red was a bit more flavorful though. For the fries, they were alright, it didn’t blow me away either, although they did put a good amount of meat on them. The pricing is good though, but it is what they say, you pay for what you get; I guess i was just expecting something way better. A problem I had was when going through the drive thru, I handed the employee my card, and I guess they don’t have a register at the window, so she walked away with my card for quite a while. longer than it should be to just swipe a CC, so it made me iffy about that. All in all, it’s good for what you pay for, but I think there are better authentic street tacos out there. Fuel City/Town are still at the top of my list!
