Its a fixture of UD. Raj is quite the character and, for the benefit of us students he stocks far more craft beers than any convenience store of that size.

Typical gas station and convenience store. The very interesting man Raj makes it a fun and iconic location for people around there, particularly for the University of Dallas students.

Been there once and Raj makes the place special. One of the friendliest and interesting convenience store owners.

Also referred to as «The Rajmahal,» The PDK Shell Station is the gas station directly adjacent to the University of Dallas: a checkpoint between campus and Old Mill, the subject to Dante’s long lost quadrate to the Divine Comedy. Do not pass go. Do not collect $ 200. The owner of PDK is Raj, a middle aged, loveable, gregarious Indian. Raj is a veritable walking encyclopedia of all things having to do with UD and any and all socio-econo-political situations there and in Irving in general. The PDK has gas in three flavors, ice cream, an ATM machine(but no cash back at the counter), snacks of all kinds, energy drinks, sodas, and various household necessities and toiletries. It is, in all senses, a college convenience shop. In January, pending the inevitable favorable vote, the PDK will have alcohol in stock to add to its already respectable selection of sin, which at the moment is limited to cigarettes, lottery tickets and cheap cigars. I do not work at the PDK, but you can find me there Mon-Wed, 8:30 — 11:00PM, just chillin, maybe taking out the trash for the fun of it and Raj may then just happen to give me free stuff because we’re friends.
