The Colony, TX

The hubs and I went here because it was open on Turkey Day and I had landed at DFW early so we were too early for our dinner reservation. Bartender didn’t seem to know much about the wines he served and the hubs ordered a second beer but never got it before it was time to go even thought it was dead in there. Wasn’t the worst experience but I have zero reason to want to go back either.

You have got to be KIDDING me on this place…
Drinks are hardly passable as a cocktail, bar is BARELY stocked with anything more than what you would find at a club in LA, the bartenders have attitudes worse than Honey Boo Boo, and to top it all off those idiots charged my card more than I agreed to pay on my receipts!
I tried this place out twice just to see if I may have came in at a bad time the first time around but the second time I was there while it was slow and still got the same horrible attitude and sub par service.
If you don’t carry the spirits I like maybe try to make a better recommendation rather than gunning for the bottle your vendors tell you to push. I’ve been to dive bars more stocked than this place and paid half the price for better drinks and service!
If you’re ever in town take a quick shuttle ride down the street to the Marriott, I’m sure their in-hotel bar is more accommodating and less of an embarrassment of an establishment.

We’ve been here a few times and never had a bad experience. Love their happy hour $ 5 absolute Martinis and half price appetizer menu (ask which are half priced). The martinis are too strong for my early evening palate so I get a glass of wine instead. The coconut chicken strips are fabulous! I can not speak for the main menu however it’s a nice place to hang out and enjoy a drink and a snack. Bartenders are great too huge plus!

Ambiance is what you would expect from a hotel bar — the 4 stars are for THE BEST GARDEN SALAD EVER!!!
I would never have thought that I could get this excited about a garden salad — they call it the CRUSTY BREAD SALAD — and the reason is, instead of croutons, they use huge torn pieces of baguette turned into crunch, chewy, better-than-croutons.
The rest of the salad is romaine, red onion, tomatoes, capers (awesome addition, who knew?) in a white balsamic dressing. OMG! This is one great salad.
Now that I think of it, I have had the wedge salad here as well, and it was the best of it’s kind I’ve had.
So this hotel bar has some of the best, freshest, crispiest, yummiest salads you can hope for.
I guess I should try the real food!

I would never go here if I wasn’t staying at the hotel but the bar menu is very good and the service is good. I really liked the scallops and I had an AWESOME burger there tonight. Great wine menu list as well. Not cheap, but its a hotel.

For the Bar, not the food.
Went here to as part of an effort by my friend and I to discover the bars of Las Colinas Blvd.
Being in a hotel, this bar has a big variety of people. If you’re in the mood to people watch, go here.
When we sat down at the bar, the bartender gave us a bowl of some awesome wasabi covered peanuts. Delicious. I was actually very surprised. This bartender was actually talkative… well surprised b/c I just came from The Cellar across the street. He was very attentive, coming back to make sure we are good with drinks and the peanut bowl.
A great place to just grab a beer and people watch.

Good place to eat and drink at the Omni. Friendly bartenders, good food, good wine selection, full bar, and TV.
The blackened scallops are delicious! I like blackened things to be black, and that they were. If you do not like things charred, stay away from them.

Good place for lone business travelers who arrive late and want a hot meal, some TV to watch while eating and no one bothering you while eating.
Yeah, the bar isn’t the ideal place for dinner but when you don’t feel like taking a cab out, this is pretty good place. They have a good variety for varying types of budgets. Prices were reasonable and you could have a nightcap if you wanted one!
I figure since I was in Texas that I should try the Texas flat iron steak sandwich (comes with a choice of side — I got Terra Chips). It arrived not Texas-sized, which is good for my waistline
The bartenders on this particular night were practicing bar tricks with empty bottles, which made it a bit interesting. I had work to do later that night so I didn’t drink, but I’m sure they could make you anything you want at Texas prices.
