Applebee’s

Went in for a quick meal tonight and was seated with Kourtney N. Worst server we’ve had in a while. Instead of writing down our order, she decided to go off of memory, and completely blew it. Never introduced herself, didn’t check on us until someone told her she screwed up, and honestly seemed to care less. Will be requesting Asia next time (or anyone else, really.) Also, thank you to the server in the next section for helping us out. Had you not stepped in and done her job for her, we were going to call it quits and walk over to the bar.

I think this location is pretty decent. The food is always consistent and waiters are nice.

Where do I began…
My hubby and I decided to eat here today. we decided to go with the 2 for $ 20…our order:
Boneless Wings (Appitizer) ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ — BBQ & Mild with an extra ranch dressing
9 oz Sirloin Steak w/​corn and loaded mashed potatoes
7oz Sirloin Steak w/​double loaded mashed potatoes no sour cream
BOTH to be cooked Medium Rare.
What we received was a 7 oz Rare… and Appitizer, came out with the meal with no extra ranch… so now we have to decide which to eat first, since we received together. I cut into my steak only to find it RARE as the blood runs through my potatoes the waitress stated she will take back to kitchen to get it cooked properly. .so now my hubby food getting cold while waiting for mine to come out.
The manager brings out my plate (same plate I had at first) so it has blood in my mashed potatoes from me prior cutting into a RARE steak. …now this steak is WELL DONE. because all they stuck my first steak on grill to cook more and have now over cooked it… so you took steak off the plate and overcooked it and put it back. so unsanitary… after the waitress, manager, myself and cook have touched this plate and you give back with blood. .ummm mm I won’t be back here EVER!
The only good thing was the Blackberry Honey Tea…

It’s Applebees, so I know I shouldn’t expect too much. But this particular Applebees is just a joke. Yes, I know it’s shithole Irving, so I shouldn’t expect a lot. While the food is alright, the service is always just horrid.

This place is unacceptable! Michael, the mod (manger on duty), is a piece of shit! I’ll never ever in my life go to another Applebee’s restaurant strictly because of Michael. I hope this establishment burns to the ground. With Michael in it. I wish I could rate negative stars on this shit hole.

Forget ordering online. They are slower than molasses if you dine in and if you order online for pickup they will charge you then when you get there they will say their internet is down. As if they know what that means.

Worst Applebees in the area. We ALWAYS have an issue when we come here with our service. We’ve ended up leaving several times after waiting extremely too long to even put in our drink order. The wait staff just must not be trained properly at this location. We’ve been baffled at the lack of common sense we’ve experienced with their employees. I don’t even know how this one stays open. Although this location is closer to our home, we no longer come here — If you want to go to an EXCELLENT Applebees, go to the Las Colinas one on 635/​MacArthur a few minutes down the road.

The male waiter at the bar Friday night 07÷24÷15, VERY RUDE, acted as if he did not hear me several times… I am very puzzled by the whole experience. Other customers at the end of the bar heard me trying to get his attention. Very weird and rude!

At this point I’m just going to give up on Applebees.
This location has 1 $ PBRs currently which is nice, so one star is solely for the cheap drinks.
Service was pretty bad, waiter wasn’t here for much other than dropping off beers. We only got her back over because she noticed all of our beers were empty. Food was sub par, the noodles were either burnt or the were raw, they had crunchy parts on the edges. I know it’s Applebee’s, but it has the potential to be good just lacking certain things to make this place great.

Cons:
1. Atmosphere feels dirty.
2. Tables felt filmy.
3. Windows dirty
4. Picture on wall had finger marks with crust all over it.
5. The women’s bathroom was filthy
6. Menu was dirty.
7. Waitress might have been tired because she used only three worded sentences. Not rude per say but not friendly.
8. Kids pizza not very visually appetizing. Didn’t try it and my son only ate half and he likes pizza.
Pros:
1. Mixed drinks were tasty.
2. Hostess nice.
3. Food was delivered in timely manner.
4. Casual
We did go on a Saturday but wasn’t very busy.

Initial service (drink order and appetizer) were served promptly. So was the entrée. Then it felt like the waiter disappeared. I spent a good 10 minutes not being able to eat through my Thai Shrimp Salad (spicy) because my soda ran out. His pace and attentiveness improved slightly after we finally got our refills.

I hate this specific Applebee’s location. Let me count the ways:
1. Their parking lot is always jam-​packed and frustrating.
2. It always takes more than a few minutes to be seated upon arriving.
3. Their Long Island Iced Teas are a watered down joke. (They did try t remake it — THREE TIMES before I just gulped it down and ordered something else to get it over and done with.)
4. A male waiter actually DROPPED shot glasses on my HEAD/​shoulder in front of my date while trying to overly chat us up for a tip (after he’d left us unserviced and pissed off the entire visit).
5. Two employees were goofing off by the register, falling into me as I was walking to my table. I got no apology and an «Excuse ME?!» when I said «Excuse you».
Never, ever, EVER returning. (Why did I ever before?)

We asked for non smoking and we were seated next to someone approx 2 feet away who is smoking… When I asked to be moved to non-​smoking she said I was in non-​smoking, «there is a divider»… Duh, I should’ve known that a 4 foot wall can stop smoke… Welcome to Grand Prairie… I think the Waffle House has more sense… Well, it took me years before I agreed to this place and I should’ve stuck to my gut feeling… Oh well… It’s also sad to see an Irving Firefighter in uniform sitting at the bar drinking and smoking… My family and friends are firefighters in Los Angeles and this is sad sight to the uniform. So sad…

Seriously 3 star it’s an Applebees not a high end steakhouse.
Food ok, service amazing. Chancellor excellent server very attentive. Good additude, just an all around fabulous job. Guys deserves a raise. Made our experience 10 plus
But in general awesome for a casual dinner and drinks.

Food was great, service was ok. Drinks were inexpensive, I’ll definitely need to go back on days when the cowboys aren’t playing. Sunday it was crowded

I was searching for a late night dinner and the only options that came to mind were Ihop, Denny’s and fast food. I didn’t want fast food and I am not really a fan of either Ihop or Denny’s, but initially I had decided to just go for Ihop. But when I turned on North Belt Line Road, I noticed Applebee’s was open and ended up turning into their lot instead.
First great point is that Applebee’s offers free Wifi!
I walked in and it reeked of stale cigarette smoke which made me internally groan because I hate leaving any establishment smelling like a pack of cigarettes. But after the waitress asked smoking or non and I told her I want to be seated as far away as possible from the smoking section, I was seated in a non-​smoking area that didn’t have any trace of smoke and I couldn’t smell cigarette smoke from the ones who were smoking. So Applebee’s gets a plus for that!
My server, Heather, was awesome, sweet and very attentive which I appreciated. She helped me choose my drinks and stayed to see if I liked them. They were running a special on the Bahama Mama drink for like $ 4.50 or $ 4.99 and it was a big drink. I tried some Summer Squeeze drink but following the Bahama Mama it left a LOT to be desired. I told Heather I didn’t like the Summer Squeeze drink because it was too watery. She didn’t hesitate to take it back and I was not charged for this drink.
I ended up ordering the Chicken Fried Chicken that came with mashed potatoes and corn. All good! The gravy was great too! Very rich and creamy. I think Texas Roadhouse has some competition in terms of their Chicken Fried Chicken dish but I will always love Texas Roadhouse’s especially since they have the early bird special from 4 – 6 so their Chicken Fried Chicken plate comes to $ 7.99. But for late night cravings of Chicken Fried Chicken, Applebee’s will have a repeat customer, especially at $ 11.99 for a good sized portion.
Music was a great selection with a wide variety ranging from Beyonce to Pharrell’s «Happy» to alternative.
Because their parking lot was full, I had to park in Outback Steakhouse’s parking which was kind of sketchy because it was by a dumpster and not as well lit as the gas station or Applebee’s parking lot.
FYI: Not sure if ALL Applebee’s have the same hours but this location is open until 2am everyday.

I met a friend here for lunch and I probably should have turned around and left as soon as I walked in.
First of all, I had NO idea that smoking in restaurants was even still a thing. When I walked in the entire place smelled like an ashtray. The guy seated me in the non-​smoking section and it didn’t make one bit of difference. It was disgusting to smell that. If it weren’t for my friend, I wouldn’t have stayed.
Secondly, the menus were super gross. I had just read that you should always wash your hands after you touch the menu because it’s probably not wiped clean. CLOROX WIPES, people.
I ordered the trio for $ 11.99. The 3 items I chose were the steak quesadilla towers, spinach/​artichoke dip, and boneless wings. Everything was EXTREMELY salty. The dip looked more like some type of green soup with cheese on top and it was heavily salted and came with salty tortilla chips. The «towers» tasted like a Philly cheese steak eggroll, and the boneless wings with sweet/​spicy sauce were also incredibly salty.
I don’t go to Irving much, but now that I know it’s the smoking side of the city, you can bet I won’t be doing that again… but even if I overlooked that (which I don’t), the food was still subpar. In my mind, I could just imagine Chef Robert Irvine on the restaurant rescue show or Gordon Ramsey on Kitchen Nightmares, going through the processes in the kitchen at this Applebee’s and telling them all the problems with the food they prepare (or thaw out).

I did not have a good time when I visited this location at all. When we entered the building, we were seated towards the door (where all the employees would sit during break). It was very uncomfortable being seated where you could hear all of their conversations about their jobs and their personal lives.
Our server was very professional and attentive, but I could not say the same for the other workers. While my friend and I were eating our appetizers, I had an employee almost hit our table with a towel that he had cleaned another table with. Needless to say, I stopped eating because I had lost my appetite.
My mood had not been so great after that experience, but the staff then decided to turn up the music so loud that I could not even talk to my friend. We had asked for the music to be turned down and heard the other employees complaining about why the music had been turned down. We just continued to watch our surroundings and wait for our food.
I had ordered the shrimp scampi linguine and I was just frustrated by the time I took a bite. The noodles were still undercooked and the shrimp was definitely raw. I decided to just take the meal home and recook it myself. Sad to say, my friend suffered from food poisoning from this meal.
I will not be visiting this location ever again.

Leaving… this place is disgusting. My husband likes his ((but he eats anything in front of him so… he doesn’t count)) my son didn’t eat all of his either.
Never again, not on THIS side of town…
They need a new chef that knows about presentation, and how not to over cook broccoli and carrots… the «cream» on my chicken looks curd like old milk!!! The meat on my sons club sandwich looks old.
I do not recommend this place unless u have a stomach of steel.
Asked for receipt 25mins ago… it still hasn’t come.

I had Napa Chicken Portabella for lunch hand it was a very good choice. I was surprised that there was a smoking section but I’ll be back.
The prior bad reviews must have been from another time. All was well with my visit.
