It’s a terrible shame they are closed. I’m lactose intolerant and I work nearby. I would order their soy cheese pizza regularly for delivery. Their soy cheese tasted better to me than the«vegan cheese» the other Z Pizzas have to offer. I went by there in person a couple times. The staff was cool. Good food, cool staff. I hope it was just mundane business matters that closed them rather than something aweful happening to the owner or something. Too bad. This place will be missed.

This place was absolutely amazing, best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had and I’ve tried many! Loved their Alfredo and Pesto sauce. And their staff was always great as well… Anyone know what happen? Are they really gone?

The Alton Square Z Pizza must be in the Dark Ages? They don’t answer their phone, and there’s no OGM to say they’re closed for a remod… the sign on their door is lacking any dates, their website makes no mention of a remod closure, and the«contact us» email address bounces. Good luck?! Either they are completely unorganized or gone for good! The late Suzie Megroz must be spinning… A former patron, Ross

The Vegan pizza is pretty bad compared to the chain Z Pizza. Unfortunately we are out of the delivery area for the chains and wanted to give this one a chance. But the pizza was pretty burnt, dry, and lacked flavor when compared to the chains Vegan pizza.

I’m a big fan of this place, especially since they have vegan cheese! I’m not able to eat regular cheese, so my fiancé and I love splitting the Texas BBQ chicken pizza, and he can’t even tell the the difference. Ingredients are fresh, priced are reasonable, and delivery is quick. So glad we found this little gem tucked into the Ralph’s shopping center:)

Simply not impressive. NY Upper Crust down the street is so much better. Don’t waste your time.

I normally dont like writing bad reviews but this place was terrible. The food quality was poor I ordered a cheese pizza and wings. The pizza was bland, the wings were not fresh, I ordered them plain and they still loaded them with sauce. Food took an hour to get here and after the first bite I wanted my money back. My boyfriend also tried the food and agreed this was probably the worst pizza and wings weve ever had.

When I found this listing off Unilocal,I called thinking it was part of the zpizza chain. It wasn’t. But then again, the place has high ratings and so I didn’t expect to be disappointed. I was. My order was the Mexican Vera Cruz pizza, which has quite the appealing description. Unfortunately, the chicken isn’t anything special and while the salsa topping is fresh and original, it wasn’t enough to make the pizza a huge winner. While the pizza isn’t anything horrible, the crust isn’t quite pleasing, the cheese seems low-quality, and the price is definitely too pricey for what they offer. I gave it two stars because the young crowd working the restaurant were welcoming enough, but I don’t think that the current 4 star rating is accurate to the quality. Could be that I caught the food on a bad day or should’ve ordered something else, but that’s my take

I had no idea how different the pizza would be at this Z Pizza since it is not part of the franchise. I never tried it before because I didn’t know they have vegan cheese. But one day when I was at Juice It Up, I took a look at their menu in the window and was excited to see that not only do they have vegan cheese, they also offer gluten-free crust! The small pizza was more like the medium at other places, so it was nice to have leftovers to take home. After taking forever to decide, I finally chose the Primavera. It was loaded with olives, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, and peppers. I don’t know what kind of vegan cheese they use(I asked, but the guy at the counter didn’t know either), but whatever it is, it’s delicious and melts really well. The gluten-free crust was thin and crispy with a good flavor. They have plenty of seating inside, but we opted to dine al fresco since it was a nice night. BF loved his pizza with regular cheese and regular crust, too. This Z Pizza has something for everyone!

Holy Hell! Is this pizza or flat bread? I’m from the Midwest so, I’m not familiar with this«healthy» pizza thing. The crust was thin, the sauce was non-existent and the veggies were at best soft and squishy. I’m not sure what kind of extra-skim, lowfat, goat cheese was on this thing but that’s not a mozzarella. I gave them an extra star since the guy refunded my $ after I took a bite and nearly gagged. Went next door for sushi.

We used to get Z Pizza delivered to all of our school events, nights in etc. When I moved to Irvine I was pretty excited to see that I had a Z Pizza just up the street. Well, I gave this location a few tries and I’m done. The pizza is dry and gross. I ordered pasta with alfredo sauce recently and they dumped a TON of salad dressing in with the sauce. It tasted horrible. When I called to see if it was a mistake, the guy acted really surprised that I wasn’t into alfredo sauce mixed with italian salad dressing. Gross.

When you go to a place that serves both fresh pizza and reheated pizza by the slice a distinction needs to be made between the two. I have only had«by the slice» and while I really, really prefer freshly baked pizza I get reheated slices because it is convenient and fast. I have had the pepperoni, the sausage and mushroom and the tomato basil topped slices. They are fine, they are prebaked. Reheating only takes a short while and the flavor is «A-OK» the staff are«A-OK» the prices are a bit on the high side. If I am hungry and in a hurry and crave pizza, I will still go to Z Pizza. If I have time and want great pizza I will go to BJ’s.

I was craving pizza again today and came here to takeout a late lunch. I ordered the daily special that had 2 slices of pizza, salad and small fountain drink. I ordered one slice of pepperoni pizza and one slice of sausage pizza. When I got home, I noticed that the sausage pizza had mushrooms on it also. I really like mushrooms, but what if I was allergic to the mushrooms or didn’t like them? The cashier should have told me the sausage pizza also had mushrooms on it. I assume, he thought I saw that before I ordered, but he should’ve mentioned it, in case. Both slices tasted really good. The salad was good, but I would have liked a little more red onion in it. I will come here again.

I call and every single time… someone who isn’t looking at their map answers the phone and says there’s a franchise near me… uh huh. THAT’S YOU! Seriously? He doesn’t believe me I’m just 3 miles from him and tells me I’m by the airport. If I’m a liar… so is Google, iPhone Maps, Unilocal, and Yahoo. Maybe he doesn’t know how to use the internet? Whatevers… bad customer service, no ordering, I guess no incentive to make money either.

In an earlier review I talked about the dearth of good restaurants in Woodbridge. Z Pizza is an exception. A DELICIOUS exception. While you’ve likely seen other restaurants in various parts of CA and the USA carrying the Z Pizza name, it’s important to know that this Irvine location is the ORIGINAL Z Pizza, and the only Z Pizza still using founder Suzie Megroz’s original recipes. This location is a stand-alone – under completely different ownership than the others – and can’t really be compared to similarly-named chain, except to say that it is FAR superior. If you haven’t tried their pizza before, I recommend starting with the basics: either plain cheese or Napoli Margarita. You really get an understanding of the quality and care put into their pizzas when you bite into your first slice. The crust is flawless: thin and crispy, while still being chewy enough to satisfy. The flavor stands on its own, but it doesn’t take away from the other ingredients. The cheeses used are obviously high quality, and the tomato sauce – on the pizzas that have it – is zesty and fresh. The produce used is also clearly high-quality – I’ve never known anyone to complain of dull-tasting basil or overripe tomatoes on their pies. Combined, the flavors balance and complement each other beautifully, and it’s hard to believe that pizza this good is coming from a small storefront in an unimpressive strip mall in Woodbridge. Once you’ve learned to properly appreciate the deliciousness you are consuming, I recommend trying the Provence Arlesienne, with«capers, fresh tomatoes, choice of artichokes, sausage or anchovies, garlic, basil, mozzarella & marinara.» It’s probably the perfect pizza.(I love it with artichoke hearts, while my boyfriend prefers it with anchovies). Prices here are reasonable: ~$ 7 for two good-sized slices and a drink, $ 11.75 for a medium(14″) cheese pizza, and $ 16.70 for a medium(14″) «international»(specialty) pizza. If you’re complaining about customer service, then you simply don’t know the staff well enough to have a truly informed opinion. They are all up-beat, community-oriented people who unfailingly make visiting Z Pizza an enjoyable experience. I love Z Pizza. I eat at Z Pizza at least once a week. I celebrated my 16th birthday at Z Pizza. I may celebrate my upcoming 30th birthday at Z Pizza.(Why not?) I will continue coming to Z Pizza when I live nowhere near Irvine. It will be worth the pilgrimage. It is that good. PS: Suzie & Jeremy, thanks for the great eats. You are missed.

I. LOVE. Z PIZZA! They have a perfectly thin crust, tasty sauce and high quality ingredients. You can definitely tell its not a 5 dollar pizza, I think the texture of the cheese and crust is just so superior to the cheap stuff. They’ve ruined pizza for me! If its not NY style pizza then I don’t want it anymore :[ I’ve also had the salads which are incredibly fresh and decently sized if you’re not feeling for pizza that day. Its definitely a little bougie but thats not a bad thing in my book ;]!!! I also like how they use lettuces other than just plain old(nutritionally deficient) iceberg. Also the staff is fairly consistently nice.

Just an A-OK pizza place! Z Pizza is a couple minutes from my boyfriends place, so we went here for dinner over this past weekend since he was craving pizza. I ordered their #7, which is two slices of pizza and a glass of beer. I ordered one slice of the Mushroom Pizza and one slice of the Pepperoni Pizza. The pizza was decent, had good flavor but was lacking that«wow» factor I was looking for. For beer, the only kind they would give me as part of the combo was Coors Lite. Kind of disappointed with the beer choice, but oh well. The inside of the restaurant was nice and clean with a few flat screen TVs around, which I liked. Plus, staff was really friendly. I like! Overall, just an OK place for me. I’d come back if we are craving pizza again, but Z Pizza wouldn’t be my first choice! Cheers!

I travel to Irvine every three months and usually arrive in Cali around noon — Zpizza is the first place I go. The owner is great, the workers are great, the place is immaculate, and the thin crust pizza is tasty and even feels healthy. My last 2 trips included a meatball/ricotta pie and a texas bbq. Both were amazing. Everyone in the family enjoyed their meals. I will post some photos of these pretty pies. Price is right as I used an entertainment coupon too — Large deluxe pizza like above with a 2 liter for $ 16 — Shut the front door good deal. I watched these guys making the pizzas and it is an art to them. They constantly check the pizza for bubbles and doneness — pros — not a bunch of kids working for minimum wage that just don’t care like some other pizza joints. The owner is also right there to greet you and keeps all his workers in check — really well run. Nice clean bathroom. Nice eat-in area with a large salt walter fishtank with a «Dory» that my kids love. We also eat outside under their umbrellas, which also just makes you feel happy. I will be back — probably for a nice Margerhita pizza!
