I had never heard of coconut sauce on meat so I needed to give it try. It is delicious! The sweet sauce and that odd taste of salty sweet. I ordered the surf and turf sandwich was pretty full(spilling out). The prices are decent, but the food shaves away any doubt. They have shaves of coconut in the surf and turf. Please give it a try.(:

Not good. I hear good reviews on Unilocal about the sandwiches but didn’t know that at the time and ordered a bowl. I ordered the shrimp bowl, it had 5 tiny shrimp, tiny shred of cabbage coleslaw which was swimming about ¼ cup of some type of vinegar. I went to the trashcan and poured out the for about 10 – 15 seconds. The coconut sauce helped to mellow out the remaining sharp vinegar but still very tart and almost inedible. I was hungry so I ate it, but I still there away the coleslaw at the bottom that still had a ton of vinegar. For 11 $ I had higher hopes. I might try a sandwich one day but will never get this bowl again. My husband had the chicken bowl and he said the chicken was good. The rest was unremarkable.

I had the surf turf sandwich and tried the grilled steak sandwhich both were so good! The bread though was a bit too hard for me, maybe but overall, i loved it! Plus the lady who was taking the orders at the line was suuupperr nice!

So I had to update my review out of sheer devastation!!! My initial 5 star glowing review was for their amazing coconut shrimp sandwich on yummy soft bread and they’re fried and/or grilled lemon grass chicken sandwhich. My sister and I used to go out of our way to hunt this truck down because it was so delicious. However we were so disappointed to find out at the counter of the truck that they were no longer selling their yummy staples and had completely changed the menu:(although my sister tried the shrimp sandwhich with its new modifications she said that it just wasn’t as good as before! The coconut truck I’m sure is still all sorts of yummy even with their changed menu, but I have to say they lost 2 extremely loyal customers by taking away their staple sandwhiches… So basically the truck doesn’t exist for us anymore because of that reason… which is why I had to give them 1 star:( #bringbacklemongrass… On a side note you will see many of the pictures Unilocalers have posted before the menu change, showcasing my fav shrimp and chicken sandwiches on delicious soft buns and the more recent pics are on hard dry French bread and of course without my lemongrass chicken:(

I was skeptical when I saw the price was $ 9-$ 11.50 for what is essentially a banh mi. I understand the ingredients are supposed to be better, but the only time this has worked out for me has been at East Borough($ 9 for a 12 inch). Had a coconut shrimp sandwich. I liked the bread, and the sauce was pretty good and a little spicy. The shrimp on the other hand… cold and barely cooked.. If this were a restaurant I would have sent it back, but I was already gone. Bummer. Flavors overall were ok, nothing real bold. Sandwich was something like 9 inches. IMO $ 7 is more of a fair price assuming the shrimp was cooked and hot. **In response to the owner’s response below — I «traveled» from your truck, 100 ft to my car, and ate in the car immediately. Also, you charge $ 9(or more?) for a chicken banh mi. Sorry if I do not see the«value» in that. I get it that you stand by your product, but on the day I ate from your truck, your product was really bad. Nonetheless, I wish you all the best.

So happy The Coconut truck came to our offices today! Shared the pulled pork and surf & turf sandwich with a friend and both were DELICIOUS! Tried the fries, and wished I’d ordered them too. The best lunch I’ve had in I don’t know how long. I hope they come back

This truck came to my work yesterday… and I am not a fan of coconut, so I almost didnt look at their menu. I decided to take a look, and the pictures of their sandwiches sucked me in. Once I got down to the truck, I saw they had tacos. I love tacos. I decided to keep my original decision and get a sandwich.(Now I still want tacos). I ordered the BBQ Chicken sandwich and Taro Fries. Then, I became the most annoying food truck customer. A coworker of mine is doing the Whole30 challenge which is a Paleo(on steroids it sounds like) challenge for 30 days. She had asked me to get the price of just some shrimp — not a sandwich or tacos. I think I threw the girl off a little, and she told me they had shrimp plain with slaw… I ended up just ordering them, being it was National Random Act of Kindness Day, I got her a treat. I said no slaw, because the slaw had vinegar which was fine, but also sugar. Then I said no toasted coconut on the shrimp because I wasnt sure… We had quite a few conversations back and forth about how about this, no this, ok that… The girl who took the orders was super nice, and completely patient with me. Im sure it caused extra work for the cooks in the truck, and they were really understanding and fine with it. SUPER customer service. Most trucks would have probably told me to get lost. Actually I had one truck refuse to make me something in the past because I didnt want one ingredient in my burrito… so I ended up not ordering from them. I really appreciate how willing they were to accommodate this special order. And with a smile. AWESOME! I think in the future, I will get the tacos to try them… but my sandwich had no coconut — so dont be mislead by the name! The fries were good, I wasnt sure about the little side of sauce that came with them. I didnt love it, but I didnt hate it either. My sandwich had an amazing amount of chicken on it, and so much flavor. I dont know if this truck has ever been here before, but I do hope they come back! Oh, and I tried one of my friends shrimp… and it was AMAZING!

I really love the unique flavors that Coconut truck brings to their food! I can not say that I have eaten a lot(or any) Cambodian food before, but I really like the food the Coconut Truck is turning out. I got the chicken sandwich and it was SOGOOD! The chicken was juicy and had a delicious flavor. The sauce on the bread was nice and spicy. The veggie slaw was crunchy and the tart vinegar went really well with the entire sandwich to round out all the flavors.

I LOVETHECOCONUTTRUCK! I read about them in OC Weekly and I was so excited to give them a try. I was not disappointed! I got the loaded pork fries and the steak sandwich. It was so awesome! We went to golden road in Anaheim and they were so sweet! They brought our food inside to us! I can’t tell you how important it is to try to coconut truck. My friend got a rice bowl and the coconut sauce they give you on the side is the perfect accent to the flavor of their meat! Great service and amazing food!

We were just at Bottle Logic and we needed some victuals. My wife went off-menu and got what I’ll call«Semi-Loaded Fries»: Loaded Fries minus pork plus grilled, marinated tofu. Score! Damn, these were good. I’m not sure how loaded they were(certainly not as much as we were), but that chili cilantro aioli definitely made the dish. They were a perfect accompaniment to our beers. Cheers, Coconut Truck! Vegetarians take note: it looks like they can make almost anything on their menu vegetarian. Also, everyone take note: their online menu is pretty outdated. It doesn’t include all of the bowls that they have, let alone the fries. It does mention taro fries, though. I’ve been to Cambodia, by the way, and this truck doesn’t really serve traditional Cambodian food, so don’t expect that from Coconut Truck. Instead, expect delicious sandwiches, bowls, sides, etc. with a Cambodian twist. Why have I not heard of this truck before? I hope that I see them again soon, like at the Frida’s showing of Don’t Think I’ve Forgotten.

We tried this food truck that was parked by our apartment today. We wanted to try their loaded taro fries which comes with pulled pork and the nom pang grilled steak sando. Wow, that was really delicious and I loved the slaw that came with the nom pang! We enjoyed our dinner and looking forward to their visit at Park Viridian again.

Wow I would love to come back! At first I was skeptical about this truck because it looked a little hippie. Plus, the name Coconut made it seem like it was going to revolve around coconut, which I’m just okay with. I decided to get it because I wasn’t feeling the other food trucks in the area. I got a pulled pork brioche which was AMAZING. The pork was marinated with sweet soy to give it that sweet and umami taste. The veggies had some aioli sauce which made it refreshing while having a spice kick. Plus, the bun was brioche which is just delicious, and I never would’ve expected to put it with something savory. I think they fried the ends because everyone loves crispy buns! Hurrah!

The truck was there for CMF in Anaheim. Their truck really caught my attention and menu caught my attention. I ordered their grilled lemongrass steak burger and it’s delicious! Everything on their menu looked so good and it was hard to make a decision. Looking forward to trying the rest of their menu soon

This food truck stopped by today at my work. I tired their sweet pulled pork hamburger and let me tell you … wooow! The bun tasted like the hawaiian bread but better. Worth the $ 8! It was not large enough to stuff you but small enough to satisfy your belly. Would I try again: oh yes!

Once apon an OC night market adventure we stumbled across The Coconut Truck and all of it’s truck deliciousness! One of the main reasons we checked them out was because their line wasn’t super long after we received our food I was kinda surprised it wasn’t long because their food is super flavorful and unique! We ordered the loaded taro fries I was surprised at how good they were because I wouldn’t have expected fried taro to be as flavorful as it was. The fried taro itself had a bit of a crisp to them leaving the inside relatively soft and perfect to go with the toppings they out on the fries. They also had a good amount of pulled pork on them it was tender and just delicious definitely something I would order on a sandwich or other items but the real kicker was the cilantro sauce it paired marvelously with the taro and pork! This is a great food truck and I would totally check them out if you spot them parked in the neighborhoods of Orange County to satisfy your flavorful needs of consumption!

The Coconut Truck was parked on the outskirts of the recent Cambodian culture festival, which had a strange dearth of food options. Sophy’s was operating a tiny little stand off in a corner… and then there was the Coconut Truck and a Korean wings truck. That was it. This was weird and pretty disappointing, because I was hoping to gorge myself on unfamiliar foodstuffs, but I guess I can just stroll down Anaheim whenever I want and get solidly immersed in Cambodian cuisine. I was happy to see the Coconut Truck offered a chicken kroeung slider(I LOVE kroeung). I was less happy to taste that it tasted like chicken satay. I was also happy to see that they offered a beef lok lak slider, but similarly, less happy to taste it bore no flavor relation to beef lok lak. It was kind of shredded and would have been at home in any generic ‘Asian’ beef dish. This is not to say that either sandwich was bad. In fact, I enjoyed both of them. The bread was not too sweet despite looking suspiciously like a Hawaiian roll, and the ingredient balance was pleasing to both my tongue and my tummy.

The food was definitely worth 5-stars, but the wait was around 20 – 30 minutes on the day I went. I had a steak sandwich and shared a side of loaded taro fries. Both items were full of flavor and the sauce on the loaded fries in particular was outstanding. However, I wasn’t a big fan of the texture of the taro fries. Highly recommended, I will definitely visit again!

The food was delicious and very large portions for the price! I would recommend chcking them out for sure! We did have a bit of a wait but they did apologize so I guess it’s not normal for things to take that long.

Cambodian food truck with great flavors. What I really liked was the sauce. It had a kick to it, not too spicy and not too sweet. The rib eye was cooked well– wasn’t rubbery or chewy. I liked that the rib eye was cut into pieces so every time you took a bite, you had some meat in your mouth(mmm, I’d rephrase that but it’s true!). Also, the cucumber in the hamburger cleansed my pallet which was refreshing. Make sure you eat over a plate because when you pick it up the sauce will drip out but that made it part of the experience. A lot of people raved to me that the coconut water was really good since you actually get the entire coconut and it’s not from a can– maybe I’ll give that a go next time.
