My favorite appetizer is The chicken& veggie roll, it’s very delicious. My favorite plate is pad Thai extra spicy, But if your allergic to peanuts I suggest you exclude it. You have to appreciate Thailand culture in order to appreciate their food.

I love Thai food and I always come here. The quality of food has gotten more consistent since my last review. The owner is very nice and remembers my name.

This is my go to Thai place in Irvine! I usually order the pad Thai, Panang chicken curry, or the beef noodle soup. I also recommend trying their egg rolls because they make it on the spot and it’s always super hot when they give it to you! They recently just started a rewards program and I was surprised that one of workers recognized me and told me to join so I could get free food. Overall the place is great and the workers are friendly!

This place is amazing. The food is great! They have one of the best pad thais and phat si-io I’ve ever had. My favorite thing about this place is the service. I always get a friendly hello and even though I always get my order to go, it always feels like home. Great food and great service. What else could you ask for? I would definitely recommend this place. Especially when you are looking for a quick taste of Thai food.

I suppose Thai Spice is a guilty pleasure for a number of locals but I’m not as enamored with the place as other Unilocalers. Thai Spice is a no-frills food-joint that offers typical items such as soups, salads, curries, and house specialities The one caveat is that you can determine how spicy you want the food which is pretty cool if you find that Thai food tends to be too hot or not hot enough. Pad thai appears to be the favorite item here and I did try a few bites of it but I opted for the chicken salad instead. Man, that salad night have been mediocre but it was packed with veggies! I also selected the peanut sauce dressing and it wasn’t half bad. I really wish they had chopped the veg into smaller pieces. The pad thai was actually a let down considering it is one of their more popular dishes. The eggs were burnt and there were no peanuts. I wouldn’t really mind that if Thai Spice was a hole-in-the-wall place serving cheap food but they are not. There are other restaurants with almost the same prices but boast better atmosphere and higher quality food. Service was ok. Props to the guys working the register and bringing food upstairs. Also, add some blinds upstairs. The only table open during my visit was right next to the window and everyone at the table was sweating. Three stars because food/service weren’t terrible. But I don’t think I’m going to come back unless one of my friends has a massive craving for Thai Spice.

Located next to the Phở Factory. Parking can be hard to find during lunch time because of the lunch rush so just come a little bit earlier than 12! So I was assuming that they would seat you and then you order, but you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. They also have a quick take out area where you could just point at the hot food behind the counter and they will box it up for you and you’ll be on your way! They have a second story where you could sit too! What I got: Beef Pad See Ew($ 8): not exactly the pad see ew I was expecting. I’m use to the wide flat rice noodles with egg, beef, and Chinese broccoli. This place had carrots, American? broccoli, baby carrots, and egg. Wouldn’t consider this pad see ew and didn’t even really taste like it, but it was still good. It was almost like just a stir fry noodle dish. Service: Friendly people behind the counter. Brought up the food upstairs to us. They have plates and utensils up there too. Wouldn’t get the pad see ew again though, maybe pad thai next time?

Thai Spice puts together fresh ingredients and intense heat next door to IVC. Thai Spice seems to have become a bit of a neighborhood favorite even if the denizens of Unilocal largely ignore the fact. Pad See Ew, Pad Thai, Satay and Teriyaki plates are the house specialties and all of the food is freshly prepared in this fast casual. Largely a no-frills affair, Thai Spice seems to appeal to those that like a comfortable and relaxed setting and th interior is in dire need of a makeover. The hook is that they custom create the level of spiciness to your specifications: from mild to thermonuclear. I chose to go with the Garlic Shrimp Plate with spice level medium. Cost of admission: $ 11.95. Time to prepare: 5 minutes. Curiously, no chopsticks are offered and refills are fifty cents(in this day and age?). The Garlic Shrimp Plate consisted of roughly 8 pieces of 16⁄20 count white shrimp sautéed wok style with a spicy garlic sauce, onions, green onions, carrot, and then plated on top of a bed of cabbage and served with a lump of cooked rice and a small salad. On the first bite I realized that their interpretation of «medium» would be hot to most but it was nowhere near inedible, just a bit challenging especially considering it was 104 degrees out that day. The shrimp and sauce were absolute delicious with a nice garlic infused savory inbewtween the fiery taste of peppers. A small amount of rice in each bite kept the heat largely under control. As for the side salad… well, it went ignored after a small sample. It was a bit tired looking and tasted awkward compared to the bold shrimp and rice main. I would wager that they could probably nix the salad without any real public outcry. At $ 11.95 I had to wonder why so many consider this spot to be «cheap eats» as a lunch for two would easily be $ 30.00 with drinks. With that ticket price you have countless options in the area. Final word: Thai Spice is a sound lunch option if you are in the area and in the mood for something bold, interesting and spicy but cheap it is not. I will return to try the Dynamite Wings and the Pad Thai.

I read this place was a fast food type of thai joint but I had no idea how bad the food is. I ordered over the phone for pick up and it was ready for me in less than 15 mins. I opened up my box of pad see ew and right away noticed how DARK everything was. Took the first bite and nearly spit it back out because of how incredibly BURNT everything tasted. The beef was burnt, the noodles tastes burnt & the broccoli was oddly SOUR. I was starving so I basically sucked it up and ate just the noodles & carrots. Egg was nonexistent & the mushrooms were sparse. No wonder for dinner it’s only $ 8… The mango sticky rice… was also disappointing. The sticky rice was hard, dry & all clumped together. It was more like rice cake in my opinion. It was still okay but u prefer my sticky rice to be softer and easier to pull apart. With all that being said, I will NOT be back. The prices are cheap but honestly I would rather throw in a couple more bucks for a way more decent meal. You have been warned.
