Payless Shoe Source

This place is really meh.
The selection is okay, but they are always out of the popular styles, or have them in only limited sizes. What bugs me about this place is how unfriendly they are. Seems like the people who work here are interested in minimal customer contact. No one walks around the store to check up on people, and when I come to check out, they just ring me up silently unless it’s to ask if I want socks, or the latest deal. Then it’s out the door I go, without another word.
As this is one of the closer Payless stores, I’ll probably be back if I need shoes in a pinch. I would avoid this place otherwise.

I went in to this store about 1o-​15 minutes before closing as my sister needed a pair of new shoes. The male associate (older man with crazy hair) told me that we could only look for a minute because they were closing. I said fine, while thinking I have at least ten minutes before (out of consideration) I would leave. We found her a pair of shoes but with the BoGo figured we should get another. We asked for another size of which they didn’t have so he tells me to just get a ½ size up or a ½ size down. I told him no thanks as they obviously then wouldn’t fit. He rolled his slightly. Another customer customer walked in about this time, which was 8:55– 5 minutes until their posted closing time. As she opened the door he said sorry we are closed you can’t come in. The customer made note of the time on the door and that it wasn’t 9. He then responded fine for a minute, but then we are closing. Talk about being rude and no customer service. Definitely won’t be going back to this location.

I usually come here when the kids need shoes for their play/​recital/​talent show/​Halloween, etc. in other words, something they will only wear once. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly. However, the popular styles in popular sizes are always always always out. And we usually have to end up with second choice or go somewhere else. I just thought that after all these years, shouldn’t they know that they need to stock up on those styles and sizes that always run out fast? Hmm, on the other hand, maybe after all these years, I should learn to stop going to this location? haha.
