Today was my two sons first day at camp. One is enrolled in the graphic design for ipads and iphones. The other is Mindcraft programming. Both had horrible experience on their first day. My older son(11 y.o.) doesn’t want to ever go back. The software used in the iPad and iPhone graphic design class was so buggy they did not accomplish much. The instructor stated she would go home and research on how to resolve all the bugs. My son gave kudos to the instructor on trying to resolve all the problems but the day was a complete failure. Plus my son wasn’t given instruction on how the cafeteria worked. After the long walk to the cafeteria and trying to figure out how to get his meal, he had less then 5 minutes to eat. He was starving when we picked him up. My younger son enrolled in the mindcraft programming camp. He was unable to log-in for over three hours until the instructor gave his user ID and password to use. ID tech what? Did not appear they are technical with computers. Completely useless first day. Now both kids don’t want to go back. I am curious how the instructors are going to adjust their curriculum for the missed day. Or are they going to continue on and all the kids will by lost from missing their first day. Their policy is no refunds at this point. They also promise their equipment is tested and in good working order. The camps are sold out and the season just started. Hopefully you have better luck. I will talk with the other parents in class and collectively figure out what we can do about it.

Can’t say enough great things about this program. My son took the Intro to Programming(Scratch and Java). Not only did he have a great time but he came away with detailed working knowledge. The instructors here are highly qualified, enthusiastic, fair, super nice and know how to keep the kids focused. Amazing and worth every dime. Food was good too. Only thing that was a surprise was that the computer lab is all in one huge room. Very well organized but still a bit distracting. Maybe room dividers could work…

I have never had such greater summer than the one I had with iD Tech Camps last year. The program is absolutely amazing and it is completely geared towards creating an environment for the students to learn skills that they build career goals and confidence from. The kids were AWESOME! Brilliant, hilarious, energetic, and receptive. I recommend this camp to all of my co-workers and friends with children, the range of classes and the experiences the instructors give is a once in a lifetime opportunity for most. It may sound biased coming from an actual camp instructor but I’ve definitely been to my fair share of summer camps and this one is by far the best I’ve encountered. The students aren’t pent up in the classrooms all day sitting in front of a computer screen either, they are encouraged to be outside and make friends nearly 4 out of the 8 hours they spend a day. iD Tech camp made sure I knew what I was doing before I was hired, and I made sure to have at least 8 – 10 icebreakers and activities handy so my students were never bored or not accommodated. Sign your child up today, you will NOT regret it =)
