I am Chinese, so really cannot say this is authentic or not. But it tastes fresh and gives you quite a bit of meat! Price is kind of high in a food court. No more, no less.

Greek Islands is in a food court that is fairly close to my office. So, I needed to see if they were a good go-to lunch spot. They are just okay. I ordered the chicken schwarma plate and instead of getting boring salad or rice(which is normally a waste of money), I got a double order of hummus all for $ 8.95. The chicken schwarma was not the typical schwarma but was instead chopped up fairly dry pieces of chicken breast that were seasoned with mediterranean spice and flavors. It was nothing memorable. The hummus here, however, is memorable and that is why I gave Greek Islands three stars. It was creamy, garlicky and excellent. Would I return. I am not sure.

I have gotten delivery from Greek Islands many times. Most recently I visited their food court location for take out which prompted my review. For delivery they are a little slower than you would expect but the food has been great. They do tend to run out of things at times so check in advance if you are craving a particular item. The hummus in particular is outstanding. I have also tried the gyro, fatoush salad, dolmades and spinach pie which were all very good. If you plan to eat at the food court be aware it is very outdated and has little to no AC. Delivery is recommended.

This is a tiny food court spot. Spinach pie, tabouleh, and hummus were delish. Keftedeh and gyro were fine. Decently priced. The food court has a dodgy feeling, but I’ll ignore that to pay less.

Greek Islands is inside a food court in a small shopping plaza. The shopping plaza is across from the Lakeshore Towers parking lot. The two things I have tried so far are the gyros and the chicken shawarma. Both were about $ 7 and were pretty good.

This is a small Greek fast food restaurant in a food court located within an Irvine strip mall and a hidden gem in my opinion. The strip mall is rather dated and is not much to look at, but don’t let that deter you from trying Greek Islands. I’m pretty picky when it comes to Gyro meat, and this is one of the few places in the area which serves up excellent, high-quality gyros. I always leave here satisfied and impressed. Greek Islands has become a regular stop for me.

My co-worker and I came through the food court after I finished up at the local bank during lunch and decided to try this place since he was feeling Greek type food. We quickly ordered(I truly had no idea what I ordered, maybe I should have gotten the lamb). We proceeded to wait and wait and wait. The waiting process took forever after the purchase of our food. Eventually I got my food after 20 minutes. My co-worker however, had to wait an additional 20 minutes after me and I ordered before him. They need to keep in mind that some of us only have an hour lunch period and cannot afford our time to be wasted like this. The service was friendly though despite them being extremely slow. On to the food, it was decent in flavors. Again I truly didn’t like what I ate but that was mainly out of preference not flavoring. I’m actually pretty sure the food is decent but it just lacked an appeal to me, especially after I waited a lengthy period for it to arrive. The place was extremely busy though so I will give them the benefit of the doubt but realistically its a place I wouldn’t try again personally. YMMV but for me its a pass if I’m at the food court again. PS the food was about 10 bucks which is what I usually pay for at the other food court closer to me. However, in this food court its one of the more pricier places.

Best and most authentic Greek food restaurant you will ever find Anywhere. I have been going there for 15 years and I have never been disappointed. This family opened a small sit down restaurant in the Irvine area, so if you are not wanting to do the food court thing you can check out their restaurant. Anything you order is fresh and delicious.

Greek Islands churns out uninspired and hopelessly tired Mediterranean cuisine in an outdated food court. Chalk this one up to desperation. I found myself in-between meetings in the area and had 30 minutes to invest something and was famished to the point of ordering the first thing I saw. Welcome to my review of Greek Islands. I didn’t expect much from the first(or last) glance. From the menu and the surrounding food court to even the look in the eyes of the employees, everything screamed«run away» but after looking at the lines at surrounding purveyors I knew I was screwed. I ordered the Greek Salad with Spicy Shrimp while forking over $ 12.00 figuring to myself since«Greek» was in their moniker this would have to be their flagship item. I sure hope that isn’t really the case. Five minutes later I was given a paper plate with iceberg lettuce shreds, 2 kalamata olives, 2 slices of a quartered tomato, a handful of feta cheese strewn across the lettuce with half a dozen of soggy shrimp that was dredged in a «spicy» coating. On the side was a bland ranch based dressing that I applied sparingly as it added nothing to the flavor profile. In a word, this salad sucked. Greek Islands is wack and it is all their own fault.

I work across the street and order from Greek Islands at least 1 – 2 times per week. I can’t get enough of their chicken salad. It fresh, clean eating. Love it

This greek food hit the spot for me. I had gryo over salad. The sauces are good and the meat was nice and tasty. My friend enjoyed her gyro sandwich with fries. I’d come back again for lunch.

I’m not a huge fan of Greek food but this place is pretty good. The only downfall is the wait time can be a bit long during lunch time. I will say their fries are pretty good-they’re the thick kinds and not the stringy McDonald fries. Customer service is so so. Wouldn’t mind if the cashier smiled now and then.

Since I’m rarely ever in Irvine, I’ve had to get my Greek fix at other places lately. After each meal, I walked away disappointed, because it wasn’t Greek Islands. Their salad dressing isn’t as good, and the tasty mustard sauce isn’t served anywhere else! Today, I was in the neighborhood for a dentist appointment, so I decided to stop in afterwards. I phoned in the order ahead of time, and when I got there 15 minutes later, it was ready! And the food, it was as good as it always has been. I definitely didn’t walk away from this meal feeling disappointed! Side note: If it’s gyros you’re after, Greek Islands’ tzatziki sauce does disappoint. It’s runny and watery, and I didn’t care for the taste for some reason. So I learned early on not to order it, and I tried other things. The kabobs here, in my opinion, far surpass the kabobs at other places, especially because of the mustard sauce(same with the salad). I’d recommend Daphne’s over this place if you want gyros… but, if you don’t have your mind set on gyros and you’re open to anything, come here and get a kabob and salad!

I really like the food here. Unfortunately, the wait during the lunchtime rush keeps me from recommending this highly. A typical wait time for lunch is 15 minutes after you order. If you have a chance to eat here for an early or a late lunch, it’s worth it. If you’re eating between noon and 1PM, I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Been coming here for years. Haven’t had anything I didn’t like. I usually get the chicken plate with hummus, rice and salad. All of their meats are clean and cooked to perfection. Mustard sauce is on point. Gyro sandwiches are really good as well. Only downer is lunch is a tad pricey. But, for the quality I don’t mind.

Second time I’ve been here, good quality is consistent. You get what you expect from a food court Greek cuisine restaurant. Might not be the best gyro, but it is fresh and I would certainly prefer it over a chain like Daphne’s. The fries are okay.

This afternoon my husband and I decided a change of pace from our usual Saturday eatery options was in order. We decided to check out Main Street Plaza and Food Court which happens to be within walking distance of our apartment. After scoping out our available food choices we eventually settled on Greek Islands Cuisine. Ever since K-Bobby closed its doors at The District we’ve been on the search for a local place to get our shish kebab fix. It suffices to say Greek Islands Cuisine is decent but K-Bobby it certainly is not. Where Greek Islands Cuisine’s food achieves authenticity it lacks in high quality. We both ordered the Chicken Souvlaki which came with sides of hummus, pita bread, rice and tabouli. The side dishes truly complimented the meal especially the tabouli; it was fresh, light and packed full of parsley. Chicken tasted slightly dry on its own but it came with a curry-mustard dipping sauce which gave it a spicy kick. As remarked by my fellow reviewers service is indeed slow. We waited 15 – 20 minutes for our order. At least there’s a TV inside the food court; we entertained ourselves by watching«Wipeout.» I docked a couple stars because my hummus came with a complimentary eyelash — ick. Because I was hungry and didn’t think it worth it to wait around an additional 15 – 20 minutes, I fished out the eyelash and ate the meal(most of it) without complaint. Reasonable prices(our meal totaled $ 20 and some change). Generous portions. Courteous waitstaff. Tip: Be prepared to wait!

Gyro meat ANDPITA were both dry & the sauce was runny. NTS: avoid this place in the food court and stick with the thai or italian place!
