I purchased a Gateway netbook through HSN and it is something I will never do again. They have the worst customer service I have ever seen. The quality of there products is also second rate as well. I have had to send my computer in for repair at least 4 times over the 2 years I have had my computer. The times I have called them it has always been impossible to talk to a real person without having to waste a great amount of time and they always seem to be trying to force you to sign up for some type of payment plan where you have to pay to get any sort of assistance

Its the end of February 2009. And Gateway Computer has been screwing me over since December 2008. Having purchased tens of thousands of dollars of equipment for my job in Silicon Valley, I have never received such piss poor support as I am presently getting from Gateway Computer. I purchased one of their 30″ HD displays model XHD3000 and it blacked out every hour. So I called them for a replacement and after telling me to try other computers(because I have spare computers to test their broken crap) and after screwing around with me for a week, they told me to send it back and they would replace it. Well, I’ll just STAREATTHEWALL for two weeks while they wait for the return and ship out a replacement on the slow boat from China. I had to purchase a second one on my credit card so that I would have a monitor to use and not miss any work. Well, guess what? The replacement monitor is also defective. Apparently this is a known defect as you can google the XHD3000 and find thousands of people who have the same problem with their Gateway products that were manufactured in the first half of 2008. It gets better. They won’t even talk to me without the serial #. The serial # is printed on the back of the mounted monitor and in 6 point font. Well, I got a magnifying glass and gave it to them. Now they tell me its invalid. After screwing me over for another week, they asked for a photo of the serial #. Don’t know what the point is as the font is too small to be photographed with anything but a Macro lens. So I guess I need to keep a spare computer, a camera, a macro lens and a magnifying glass just so that I can get Gateway’s miserable tech support department to start to provide service. After almost two months now, they have not even started to assist me. This is the first and last Gateway product that I ever buy. Their product is defective, and they know it, yet they continue to sell it to this day. Even more so, the OBSTRUCTIVE attitude of their tech support department is reminiscent of the phone company. I hope that someone is able to file a class action law suit against them for shipping defective product and not servicing their product in good faith! GATEWAYSTINKS!

Let me start this by saying Gateway’s Rules. I can’t believe I am running a 6 year old laptop, and getting Tech support on it 3 years out of warranty. I also can’t believe I’m admitting it in my first review. People are going to think I’m a bologna eating shit pants going for this and not a restaurant… not true. Gateway has karma so here you go So, this turkey with the 6 year old laptop, should we listening to him? You decide~ 1st. In 2002 I spent some time shopping and went with Gateway Laptop a Pentium 4, 1.4 GHz processor. Still hot solid silver. Still fast and only until 2008 and Vista will I be getting a new, w/dual core processor. 2nd they gave me a 3 year warranty, which I thought was plenty long. In my mind I was going to buy a new laptop every three years, as technology and software advanced. 3rd and lastly, they offer me out of warranty support this second weekend in 2008.(This is my first review so it helps to use numbers for my points, what a dork) A. The call that saved my baby started with NOT listening to my drunk(football watching) buddies, as they tried to give me a 1 Gig stick of memory that would have burnt my mother board. 1−800-Gateway My serial number that I have memorized over the years. B. A Tech that listened to me, and my drunken buddies in the background, and patched me through to a Technician, without charging me. C. The Technician that took 15 minuets and found that even though the maximum spec limit online said that two 512 cards equaling 1 gig total was max, that I could 21 gigs for a total of 2 gigs! But more importantly, that stick that my buddy had, and was trying to push on me would have ruined my motherboard. God bless you for reading all of this. I wouldn’t have
