I originally posted this on 07÷12÷14 under the Carlsbad office, not knowing they were two separate entities. I have since removed that review. I was very disappointed in our pet-sitting experience with Dogs On the Run. Went away for a weekend, and hired one of their sitters to come by in the morning and evening to feed our 4 cats and 1 rabbit and give them water. One of the cats is on a special diet(per his veterinarian) and has to be fed separately to ensure he does not eat any other food. I left detailed written instructions and clearly labeled the food containers in order to prevent any confusion. However, the pet sitter fed all of the cats the same food. How did we know? When we arrived at home, we noticed that there was a bowls of half-eaten regular kibble on the kitchen floor and everyone was was free to roam and eat whatever they like. Also, our special diet kitty’s bowl had regular kibble in it. He promptly developed watery, pipestream(shooting out) diarrhea, and it took him about 2 weeks to recover. She also left our other 2 cats locked up in our bedroom. I contacted the pet-sitter herself to inform her of her mistake, and she denied it. I sent an email to the management so that they would be aware of their employee’s negligence and/or laziness. I received a return email the next day(a Thursday) that stated she was very concerned and would phone me the following Monday. That was one week ago, and I have not heard from her. Based on my experience I would strongly caution anyone from hiring Dogs On the Run.

I’ve been using Dogs On The Run for a year now. I have a rescued German Shepherd who needs to be heavily sedated if she stays in a kennel and had some separation issues when she first came home. My walker, Lisa, was able to calm my GSD down on the first visit and is wonderful with my cat, too. Lisa is very cuddly with my pets and sends email updates on how they are doing. If you need in home care for your pets, I highly recommend this service and Lisa! The price is a bit high, but worth it for the peace of mind for pets that just can’t handle a kennel situation.
