Del Taco

I got off of work at 11:30 & came to this location for dinner, as it is delicious & the only thing open, but when I arrived at 11:35 it was closed. The advertised closing time is 12. I was extremely disappointed and still hungry. Send help.

I should have written this review a long time ago. I visit this location once a week. I’ve lived in the area for 25 years and this is my go to Del Taco. They offer, fast friendly service and always get my order correct. I’ve visited the new one on main street and I am sadly disappointed. They may be new, but their service and employees are sub par. I think the employees at the Barranca location are by far the friendliest. The only Del Taco I think is a little better is one of the originals in Barstow off of Lenwood. If you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about. My only complaint is the .99 red burritos seem to get smaller and smaller. That’s not a huge negative. Less calories and I still get the taste I so love.

I should have checked and believed what other negative reviews to this location. What they say do happen to me.
I ordered about 20 tacos and other items that day. When I got home, I found out that what I got was less than what I ordered. Called the store right away, the manager promised me that I would get back what were missing in my order next time when I mentioned my name to them. Guess what? 2 weeks later, I came to the store again and would like to collect my missing order as well. The manager (not the one I called) told me that my name is not on their list, which means they don’t owe me nothing. To me, which also mean there are more people having the same problem like me, because they mentioned «list».
If you still want to go to this particular store, please make sure you double check what you get, especially when you order multiple items.
For me, I would never go to this store again, because I always order multiple items for the whole family/​families and I don’t have time to check everything of what I get.

I never have bad service or bad food at this Del Taco. I like ordering off the dollar menu; they also have some great Lenten items like beer-​battered shrimp tacos. If I am in the area, I stop in to this Del Taco for lunch.

It’s a Del Taco. There is plenty of parking around this area. The food comes out pretty quickly. They have a regular drink fountain here, not a Coke Freestyle. There is no internal restroom. The booths are also sort of narrow, or we might just have long thighs, since we kept bumping into each other while getting in and out of the booth.
The worst memories I had of this branch was the time there were a bunch of rowdy teenagers talking loudly here (about 8 or so years ago). Following that, there would be a security guard in the general area to maintain order. But those days seem to have passed, since I don’t see the guy that was forced to take action against the rowdy teenagers amongst the staff here anymore or security guards.

A good review for Del Taco??? I know, crazy. I have not been to Del Taco for several years because 1) I don’t eat a lot of fast food unless there is nothign else, and 2) Del Taco was not in NorCal or Houston. Recently, I would drive by various Del Tacos and was impressed by the fresh options shown on their promotional posters. I signed up for their email list and was rewarded with a coupon for 2 free chicken soft tacos. Upon entering this Del Taco, I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place and how each table had a tray filled to the brim with their hot sauces. I ordered by taco and also ordered an iced coffee. What is great about their iced coffee is that, although the as-​ordered iced coffee comes with syrup and creamer bringing ti to 230 calories for a small, they are nice enough to accommodate customizations. I asked for just a small squirt of the vanilla syrup cream and a tub of half-​and-​half. This combination still makes the iced coffee tasty without being too sweet (i.e., 30 g sugar). The servers were very nice to me and brought my food out quickly. The chicken soft taco actually has real chunks of chicken, rather than the extruded chicken mush found in chicken nuggets. Next time, though, I will have to ask for pico de gallo if they have it to add some fresh crispness to it.
The hot sauces are pretty good. The hottest, El Scorcho, has a pretty good kick. I’ll stick to the medium spicy.
I’ll probably return to this or another Del Taco to try their fresca salads.

I love Del Taco I hate Taco Bell I will come here everyday if I could their prices are good but due to the economy prices are going up and that sucks

I love me some Turkey Tacos at Del Taco. Del Taco is the first (and currently only) Mexican fast food chain to offer ground turkey as a protein option. We usually swing by here on Taco Tuesday to each order their special: three regular Beef Tacos for $ 1.09. It’s plenty of food (for me) allowing just enough room to devour one of their delicious and warm churros ($ 1.00) for dessert. Hubby also usually orders a bean and cheese burrito. #YayDeals #MexicanDonut
This Del Taco location wins my heart (and stomach) for the following reasons:
–Near home (yay convenience)
–Fast service (yay for speed)
–Friendly manager and staff (yay nice people)
–Inexpensive (yay extra money in the pocketbook)
Some downsides:
–Dining area usually dirty
–Restrooms are located outside
–Not open 24 hours
–Quality is subpar, but hey, it’s fast food

I will never eat here again. First off, the cashier took the change I gave him to pay for my meal and to put the rest on my card. He charged me all on my card. And almost stole the change I gave him. And second, the manager rolled his eyes and gave me a rude attitude about it. I did nothing wrong and my friend and I were shocked about how rude these workers were. THE MANGER! He rolled his eyes for me giving the cashier change. Which was only $ 2 in change. (Dimes and quarters). I’d rather spend my $ 5 someplace else. And I will never go here again.

Supposedly they’re open late I came at1 am and they didn’t answer the drive thru or were cordial enough to say they’re closed. Corporate is gonna get a call :)

After a walk around Irvine Lake I was looking for place to buy a drink. Drive thru service was a positive experience. Maylene was courteous and prompt and took my order right away Lemonade drink. Downside the location is older.

So, Del Taco is always going to be Del Taco wherever you go. The food, the menu, the bathrooms… haha.
Here’s the thing, today I went in for lunch and they were absolutely slammed. I was #33 and before I knew it they were creeping up on #50 and I was still chicken soft taco-​less and bold bean burrito-​less. So I let the manager know what was up (in a nice way, I promise.)
Well I’m writing this to say that EDGAR is legit, and seems to be one of the store managers. He very politely got my order out right away when he was notified about the error and then proceeded to hook my buddy and I up with a bunch of fries. The gesture speaks volumes about his character. I really appreciate good service no matter where it is. So, Del Taco owner, if you’re reading this… give the dude a raise. Not enough store managers out there like him.

Great food. Fast service. However, nothing irks me more than people thinking Del Taco or Taco Bell is considered mexican. THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD!!! It’s plain good food, that is it.

Ok so I just got my food about 50 mins ago. We orders 2 ½ lb bean burritos, 2 spicy jack chicken quesadillas and a jacked up grilled chicken taco. We had 2 coupons for buy 1 get one for burrito n quesadilla. Guess what got back to work and there is no quesadillas, instead 2 regular tacos. My jacked up grilled chicken taco is a regular chicken soft taco. I should have checked the bag because we all know how hard it is for a drive through fast good place to get the dam order right. But when your lunch is short and your in a hurry you assume a worker could tell the difference between a taco a quesadilla. Seriously your employees suck. This del taco sucks! If your in irvine go to the one by Costco on Technology.

Just wanna start by saying I’m a HUGE fan of Del Taco.
While some of my friends have no idea why I have such an affinity for this chain, me and most of my SoCal friends have found that it’s (sadly) better than the Mexican food in most of the cities we go to college in!
That being said said this is NOT the case for this location.
When I say we’ve consistently gotten the wrong order at this Del, I mean EVERY time. And one time my sister even got a bottle cap in her burrito, wth!
DO go to Del, DON’T EVER come to this location!

Del Taco’s food overall is mediocre. It only taste good when I am really hungry or craving a particular item. What was funny about last night’s visit was the girl who was operating the drive thu window, I think she was tired. It was roughly 10:30ish pm when I arrived, I placed my order and drove up to the window. The look on the woman’s face confirmed it; she was hella tired. Another female rep came out to the window to give me my order and she was a little loopy too. What is wrong with this crew of people on that particular shift that evening? I think they tried to show that they are playful and happy to be at work, but I saw right through that façade instantly LOL! Not only they were acting all weird, they also forgot my drink. I came back around the second time and when I reached the window to grab the drink they two females were placing blame on each other in a weird playful manner –what da hell dey smokin? Any who my order that night consist of chili cheese fries and the Epic potato n steak burrito. Not going to lie, that burrito was pretty good and by squirting on hot sauce it made it even better. I don’t know why but their mystery ingredient chili made those crinkle cut fries taste hella bomb! And I wasn’t even high! That Saturday’s evening food hit the spot even though the service off the wall. Oh yea use them coupons from the mail. Lots of good deals. And also is that real turkey in the turkey tacos? Hmm…

I am not sure why this chain gets some high praises from folks on the west coast. I really did not think that any of the items on their menu were very good. Better than Taco Bell? Maybe, but not by much. Considering that Taco bell would get a negative rating had a chance to review it, Del Taco scores 2 stars.

Always quick service and accurate orders!

No judgment… BUT I think that Del Taco has one of the best breakfast burritos! Honestly, it’s nothing special… just some egg, cheese and red sauce but it’s sooo good! There is also another breakfast burrito that I LOVE, don’t know what it’s called but it has eggs, cheese, bacon, red sauce and lettuce and I simply love it.
The chicken tacos, bean & cheese burrito w/​red sauce are also good choices if you’re here for lunch.
Clean place, cheap prices, tasty fast food and fresh hot fries.

As a lifelong resident of Irvine, I have been to this Del Taco countless times. Whether I showed up at 6:30AM or 11:00PM, the service has always been impeccable and the food consistently DELicious (poor pun intended). Seriously though, this is my first review on Unilocal and it’s because I can vouch for the quality of this establishment and I couldn’t stand the obnoxious comments slandering this place got precedence over those attesting how great this place is.
While I appreciate most every item on the menu, a couple of my favorites are:
1) chicken soft tacos /​del classic chicken burrito: the special sauce together with their house hot sauces makes for an amazing combo.
2) classic red or green burrito: I favor the green sauce on the classic bean and cheese, personally.
3) fries: they’ll blow your freaking mind. Honestly, I go and order a macho cup full of fries and that’s all.
4) double del cheeseburger: Not your typical order at a mexican food restaurant but my goodness this burger is better than most burger-​only places. Seriously. It’s like a better version of a Big Mac!
Yes, most Del Taco establishments are the same, but this one will always have a special place in my heart because it’s where my love and loyalty to Del Taco all began.
