Got to give this place well deserved credit as my personal choice for Hawaiian bbq! Way better than aloha and L n L. Their burger is legit! Also thier poke, and fried dumplings! Great service too! Shout out to the cashier with the blue laker hat! GOLAKERS!

Filipino breakfasts??? Thank you! I don’t need to drive an hour for tocinos and longanisas with garlic fried rice! Don’t need to go to vegas for my adobo omelette fix. Amazing portion for poke bowls and kbbq plates! Can’t miss my shaved ice too!!! Endless options!

This has been my regular spot, at least twice a week. Can’t go wrong with their bbq chicken and 2 sides. I typically get their brown rice and«grilled veggies.» Note — the grilled veggies is probably not what you’re going to expect. Basically it’s stem veggies. Some carrots, maybe 1 – 2 pieces of broccoli and some cabbage. Other than that, the food is good, reasonable prices. Try the hot sauce, I usually take a few extra home and pour in onto my other food.

Decent Hawaiian food, although not the best I’ve had. I ordered the Chicken Katsu plate with a side of White Rice and Potato Macaroni Salad. It was good, but I definitely prefer other Hawaiian places I’ve been to. The Chicken Katsu was just as good, but I like other places’ macaroni salad and sauce better. For me, the sauce makes the Chicken Katsu even more enjoyable and their sauce was just okay. My sister got the Salmon Poke Bowl and it was decent as well although the sauce was very strong. Don’t drench your food with it or else you’ll experience a very salty poke bowl. The service was very friendly, they bought out our food promptly. I don’t think I’ll be back since I don’t live nearby, but it’s a decent Hawaiian restaurant for the area!

if you’ve ever craved any type of breakfast foods, this is the place to go. They have everything from your basic breakfast foods to the more authentic breakfasts from Hawaii and the Philippines. Food: –Longanisa Plate: $ 7.95 I really enjoyed the two sausages that came with the plate. You also get two eggs made the way you like it. I would’ve liked three sausages with my plate, to be honest. I felt like i was really stretching my meat & rice ratio, and i already eat way more rice than meat to begin with. –Spam Masubi: (if you get two, it comes out to about $ 6) The size was average. I think it was just a tad overpriced, but it definitely satisfied my craving, so i’m not complaining. Service: –the cashier was super nice. She even brought the food to us after it was done being made. As we were eating, she came by our table and asked if we were enjoying our food and if we needed anything else. I’m definitely coming back here.

Are you a fan of Hawaiian food? It’s basically a lot of meat and carbs. When you order a plate from this place, you should probably share it. If you’re on a diet, you probably should avoid this place. I started coming here and ordering kids meals because the portions were way too big for me. I’ve tried a couple items here(chicken katsu, loco moco, and bbq chicken). All the items were ok, nothing special. Note: they started serving Filipino breakfast items(tocino, longganisa)

Our first visit here with my family. I had found this place on OC Weekly and it was ranked #2 in the OC. Don’t believe the hype. My family and I have lived in Hawaii and the last 6 years in Las Vegas. The Hawaiian dishes do not compare to Hawaii or Las Vegas. So as it stands no better Hawaiian food outside of Hawaii and Las Vegas. However, the Filipino dishes was on point! Loved the Filipino dishes! So my son Keiki rated his Portuguese sausage breakfast a 3. I tasted the Portuguese sausage and it is not your traditional sausage rather it tasted like chorizo. Mari rated her adobo fried rice omelette a 4. I had the longanisa a 4 and the pancake was like a hard frisby my dog plays with. You can’t beat the free Diedrich coffee. So overall rating 3.75 stars. The music selection is all the old school Polynesian and traditional reggae but the music played gets a 4.

I like this place a lot as it’s a Hawaiian place that’s pretty close to me. I come here quite regularly as a quick snack before dinner. If you want something small I would recommend getting a spam musubi. You can also get fries as well. I really like the kimchi fried rice and egg(omurice), as well as the burger.

The bad: maybe the cashier was having A bad day, but he was very rude. This is one of the first times coming here and I don’t know the menu or the food very well. So when I go to order I’m trying to make all these substitutions, but I ask politely and the cashier just says no. Can’t do that, can’t do that, can’t change that. Finally the other cashier, who was very nice, says she can get that, and the guy finally says no. No substitutions. Then I understood why he was saying no to all the changes I wanted to make. First of all he could’ve told me that from the beginning. Then I paid and asked for a cup of water. He didn’t give me a number for my order and he didn’t give me a cup of water. Then when I went back to ask for my number and cup of water the guy COMPLETELY ignored me. He looked at me and didn’t even acknowledge me… that made me really upset. The good: Food was good. Thats why they got 2 stars.

Live close by? Want hawaiian? Then Da Luau is worth a visit. Its a standard size sit down or take out place in the Cypress Village Plaza. Most people seem to get their meals to go, I’ve never really seen it get that crowded there. I’ve come here a ton of times, and I’ve never been wow’d, and only rarely been disappointed(I was totally disappointed when I got the poke bowl… do not order it!!!) Da Luau is the typical hawaiian plate lunch spot where you’ll get a combo with meats and sides. The sides are rather tasty. My favorites are the potato mac salad and long rice noodles. Classic Hawaiian sides. For the proteins I’ve tried the bbq chick, chicken katsu, kalua pork, bbq beef, bbq pork, pork katsu, mahi mahi, and kalbi ribs. So yea… I’ve tried most of the menu! Verdict? They’re ok. All of them. None of the meats are great, none were terrible. Loco moco’s are decent. Spam musubis are also decent here. Don’t come out of your way, but if you’re close by its worth coming by.

We came here because the Filipino menu items grabbed our attention. My roommate is a huge fan, so we ordered the langonisa, tocino, loco moco, and adobo chicken fried rice omelette. Langonisa — the sausage was a little too sweet for me and lacked any other layers of flavor. Tocino — this was our favorite. It tasted like sweet barbecued pork, but this dish wasn’t too sweet. It was also tender and had a nice char on some pieces. Adobo chicken fried rice — this was probably the most disappointing dish. I’d hesitate to call the chicken adobo. It lacked flavor completely and was dry. The rice itself had very subtle hints of garlic, but that was about it. The omelette definitely needed salt, but was cooked well. Loco moco — once again flavor was lacking. The hamburger patties were dry, and the gravy had no personality. We were tempted by the fusion of Hawaiian and Filipino dishes, but left disappointed. It’s too bad because DL was the only place I’ve found that married the different pacific island cuisines.

Come here mostly during dinner time. I think most people get their food«to go» here; although there is plenty of seating both inside the restaurant and outside in the common area. I normally get one of the dinner combos. Today, I chose the Lava Combo which comes with BBQ Pork, BBQ Chicken and BBQ Beef. You also have the choice of two sides which can be salad, macaroni/potato salad mix, rice, veggies or noodles. Overall, the main dishes are pretty good but I like Aloha Hawaiian BBQ better taste wise and they give you more food in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, a three item combo from here will fill you up. I love macaroni salad but not here. It’s a potato salad mixed with macaroni salad. I think they should serve them as seperate sides! They also serve breakfast which I’ve never tried here. There is plenty of parking. Staff is always friendly.

Awww Da Luau !! How can you go wrong with an islander spot that offers Pinoy Style breakfast plates! Longsilog(longanisa), topsilog(tocino) ! Yum! Soo good. Eggs over easy or runny, garlic fried rice… You choose! And Da Luau even had the vinegar on the side for that added«kick» to the longanisa! Eat your heart out L&L’s! Other highlights include Da Luau’s exclusive selections such as their sweet and fluffy Capn crunch french toast which you can combine with eggs, bacon and fried rice or their Loko Moko fries which is served up atop crispy thick steak fries and drowned with thick juicy gravy. Another favorite of ours would be their coconut pancake combo breakfast as well as their juicy kalua pig combo lunch plate which is always served extra moist and comes with a healthy portion of Da Luau’s signature garlic rice. Thank you Da Luau! So now I just wish you can open a new location near San Juan Cap so we can enjoy your Islander style goodness more often! Til we meat again! Mahalo and aloha!

My daughter woke up from a late nap so we wanted to go to Tang but there was a long wait so decided to come here. My daughter loves her kalbi so she will definitely eat well here. True enough, she did. My husband had their loco moco. My order was salmon poke bowl and we ordered two items plate with kalbi and pork katsu. Just in case she didn’t want kalbi. But, she ate mostly the kalbi. Overall, the food is pretty good. Their seared the kalbi well and my daughter eat well here so it’s definitely gets high ratings from me!

This place is a gem! My husband and I have been having Hawaii-withdrawals ever since our honeymoon to Maui, and this place was a great find for us. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because of the price. For the casual atmosphere and food offerings, it was a bit high in my opinion. Get the rice noodles and mac salad. SOGOOD!

This location of a small local chain has been here for a few years now. I’ve been here more than half a dozen times and pretty much every single time I’ve always been satisfied with the food. The breakfast is awesome, I highly recommend the banana pancakes plate with scrambled eggs. The dinners or lunch plates, you can’t go wrong with pretty much any choices, be it loco moco, chicken katsu, BBQ chicken, BBQ ribs, or kalua pork. The spam musubi are also good. Unfortunately they always have a different person working the front counter, which can be a little bit tricky because they’re not always trained exactly the same. But usually everyone hustles and tries. There can be a bit of a wait at peak hours — noon or 6pm for dinner. But other than that you’re going to like what you get, have a very full belly and probably end up coming back here again. A while back I noticed they started having chicken«bowls». Think what you would order at any old chicken bowl place, but tastes more like Hawaiian BBQ chicken over rice, with some veggies thrown in. The portion is not a bowl but a full plate… but you are basically paying a bowl price. On weekends they have a full breakfast menu, but there’s also a quick menu of breakfast specials around $ 5 like Tocino and eggs, which are pretty bomb too. They made it for me on a weekday once too, at 10:30am… look for the sign and if it’s on the counter then you can order it. But pretty much this is just a lunch & dinner place during the week. I always come here to grab food to-go every week or two, because it’s super convenient and tastes like a home cooked meal I’ll be back in my house enjoying within 20 minutes. Finally, I don’t have to drive to L&L in Huntington Beach or Cypress anymore(the L&L in Irvine is just rubbery, cash only, and not good). Free wifi if you pick up the Cypress Village Shopping Center.(formerly Trabuco Grove) free wifi signal from outside. In case you’re eating here. Next to Subway in the middle of all the restaurants in this plaza. If you can’t find it after that… sorry you’re lost. Food:(taste) 4.25 Food:(variety) 4.5 Food:(authenticity) 4 Prices: 3.75 Staff: 3.5 Convenience: 4.5 Overall: 4.0833 — Good & tasty

The menu at Da Luau Grill has changed which made me a little sad. All the food is still really yummy, but some of my favorites like Lau Lau and the poke and chips are now gone! The restaurant is still an affordable place to get your Hawaiian fix and has nice outdoor seating(dog friendly) to boot. I recommend getting a three item plate and a poke salad to feed three people. They were really nice and brought us plates even though we were eating outside. The garlic fried rice, tropical chicken, and pork katsu were great and the fish was so-so.

Was craving some chicken katsu and mac salad so Hawaiian food it is! Located near the Kohl’s. Plenty of parking spaces. Place was pretty wide and clean inside. Indoor tables and they also have outdoor tables. Hot sauce, katsu sauce, and other condiments are next to the soda fountain. What I got: Chicken Katsu w/Long Rice Noodles & Potato Macaroni Salad($ 9.25): big pieces of chicken katsu, not too dry and the outside later wasn’t too crunchy either. Comes with your choice of 2 sides. The long rice noodles(japchae) which was really really good, it was the best thing out of the whole plate, but cabbage could have been cooked a little longer. Potato macaroni salad wasn’t that good in my opinion… I’ve had better. Service: Walked in and no one was there so the girl behind the counter gave me a huge smile. Order was taken and I was just sitting along the wall and she brought it right over to me when it was done.
