So much fun. I love swing and lindy and I’ve been to a few different places, but this is my favorite. Good music choices, great instructors. It can get a little cramped and hot when it’s really busy, but when you’re having fun dancing, you barely notice!

I’ve been all over the OC and LA county and no where is better to dance. Super family friendly, no alcohol, phenomenal atmosphere great teachers. 5 Stars all the way with no reservations! I frequent Tuesday and Friday nights for Lindy hop and East Coast swing! Tuesday’s they have a balboa room and Friday’s they have blues upstairs and Argentine tango in the sis room! Thursday’s are also great, West Coast swing though nature of the dance the attendees means it’s usually just a little more mature atmosphere. Other nights feature other dances, More traditional ballroom, tango, Salsa, etc. I’ve been at least once every day of the week and never failed to have a blast! Check their schedule and learn to dance!!! No partner and no experience needed!

This review should have been posted weeks ago but I don’t normally do reviews… First, i loved Atomic ballroom. I had been going for a few months after I originally found them on Unilocal.I loved the atmosphere and the teachers most of all. One week I decided to do an intro lesson with one of their teachers who I had been taking group classes with since I started going. He was amazing! Again, all the teachers there are great but Daniel has a way of teaching and making class fun when things can sometimes seem hard. It got to the point that I was only doing Daniel’s classes but it was after the sample lesson that things went south. The lesson itself was great and very helpful. Daniel was genuine in his desire to help me become the best dancer I could be while at the same time encouraging me to be confident and join in on social dances that they have every night. I liked the swing nights on tuesday and friday most but after the sample Daniel introduced me to some guy who told me about the packages they have for private lessons. After a good half hour of explaining everything I decided on getting a bunch of private lessons. But I told him I wanted lessons with Daniel and he kept trying to get me to do lessons with other teachers. He recommended someone for country and someone else for lindy hop and someone else for west coast swing but I told him I just wanted to do lessons with Daniel. He said that I could but continued to press other teachers. I got to the point that I was worried that after I bought the package I wouldn’t be able to take lessons with Daniel after all! The worst part of the whole thing was that I asked Daniel to teach me privately without paying the middle man but he wouldn’t do it. He still wouldn’t after I told him what happened. I’ll still go for group classes from time to time but beware of their private lesson packages.

We were visiting SoCal and chanced upon this ballroom for West Coast swing dancing on a Thursday night. We had so much fun. The dance floor is great, music was awesome and lots of fun dancers to dance with.

The atomic ballroom is a great experience for the your nuclear family! Get it? I didn’t make that up, that’s the slogan on a banner hanging outside this dance studio. The atomic ballroom is pretty tucked away, so it’s not a building that’ll stand out since it’s so grey. Inside, two studios: bigger one for swing and smaller one for tango. People? All ages and all walks of life. If it’s your first time going, you can try a workshop for free. If not, it’s 15 bucks a class and you can go to the dance every night. Dance as in, partner dancing. Not the free style you see in clubs. This is a good place to learn partner dancing in Irvine if you aren’t UCI affiliated to take their gym classes. Worth the free try!

This place is an awesome place to go to if you don’t know what to do on a Friday night. They have some promotion for how many classes for very cheap or you could take one class for $ 15 for that night. The teachers are funny and friendly but everyone else there as well. It makes swing dance so much fun!

I just attended a great Bachata Workshop taught by Pepe Gonzalez! He covered everything from basic steps and drills to advanced patterns! He gave us plenty of time to ask questions throughout the 4 hours and even provided quite a bit of demonstration and repetition. Thanks, Pepe! Excellent experience! I always learn so much from your classes!

I’m originally from OC but moved to Burbank/LA a year ago. I’ve checked out a few dance spots in LA, but I would have to say Atomic is one of the best dance studio/schools I have ever been to. My background: I enjoy dancing from Hip-Hop, Lindy-hop, East Coast Swing, Argentine Tango and Salsa. I’m mostly a beginner and don’t have much time to dance due to the MBA program at Pepperdine. The people, staff, instructors and owner are all warm and amazing people. From an MBA point of view, this studio is run very professional with customer experience as top priority. From their Customer Value Proposition, Core Values, and operations efficiency, it is run like a well oiled machine. Not to forget to mention, they’re website is ALWAYS updated and mobile perks and punch cards are all on point! I would like to see all dance studios with this professional business model. In this Studio, you will always be greeted with a warm smile, provided with refreshments and snacks, and there is always a dance for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer, or a beginner, it’s an amazing experience. I’ve taken advantage of their amazing NEWSTUDENT special(which I highly recommend). The crowd is friendly and warm, and I definitely recommend this studio! I will drive from Burbank all the way out to Irvine just to be in such a positive, professional, welcoming and warm environment. Thank you to all the people that make this place an amazing place to be! –Jedi

I still say I’m a beginner to dance and it’s always an apprehensive affair when I attend a social dance. However, the folks who run the Friday night dance here are nothing but congenial and cordial, very welcoming my first time here. As mentioned, I went on Friday — they have 3 rooms open. East Coast Swing/Lindy Hop on the main floor, Blues upstairs in one room, and a Tango practica in another upstairs room. The Swing room has a decent floor and plenty of seating around the floor to watch or mingle. The Blues room is smaller and intimate, fitting of this dance style, although it was a little too dark for me. Didn’t get a chance to check out the Tango room. Near the entrance you can buy refreshments to cool you down. Great music, great dancing. Will come back when in town!

Interesting first time experience. Atomic Studio was recommended to me by a friend who knew I wanted to get into social dancing. This studio offers a great variety of classes for different levels with several options for class times. Rachel was inviting over the phone so I was looking forward to my first session here. I took the 7pm beginning bachata class. The instructors were great and provided a welcoming atmosphere. My only complaint is for Megan, the receptionist up front. I came in and told her it was my first time at their studio, after a quick«congratulations!» she gave me a release form to sign than asked for my $ 15. She didn’t bother offering the new student special Rachel told me about, which is also promoted all over their website. I asked her about it, which she responded«oh yeah you can do that.» I gave her my money, then she proceeded to help other guests without giving me direction with where to go. So I asked, and then she tells me to sign in, and left me hanging again. After some wait time and her giving me a look suggesting«Why are you standing here looking at me?» I had to remind her I’ve never been here and I needed to know where to proceed. After class I went back to her to ask what the procedure is to utilize the unlimited classes for the week and the private session. I simply got«Just come back and tell them» followed by silence. I had to ask how the other staff would know because I wasn’t given any form of receipt. She shortly answered«your name is in our system». In summary, the check in and check out procedure was awkward. I didn’t feel welcomed or informed. I was expected to know the studio’s administrative system and floor plan prior to arriving. The class was great. I’ll give this place another try. After all I came for class, not for the front desk. It wouldn’t be fair to judge the whole business based on one person’s lack of customer service.

I’ve been going to Atomic Ballroom since April-ish of 2013. I go for the East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, and Balboa. My first time going was on a Friday. It is very inspiring to see so many people dancing and taking classes, but it was way too crowded. Social dancing on Friday allows you a 1ft x1ft area to dance. They have improved it a little by opening up a balboa room so that others can dance there. I decided to go on Tuesdays now because It is less crowded. The nice thing about Atomic Ballroom over other dance studios is that they have SOOO many classes. They have so many teachers from all around the states that have won championships and are really friendly. It is also nice because each day has a different theme. Some days are Lindy hop, another day is Salsa, and another is ballroom. They also give private lessons for any style you want or to prepare you for an event like a wedding. One of the best things though, about Atomic Ballroom, is that they sometimes give out free cake on your birthday and free food! Best way to end a night of dancing!

Two different salsa class in the same room and different levels in the same class is unprecedented! Free practice hour is below avarage in terms of songs they play and number of dancing who actually can dance…

This place is incredible. Appropriate for dancers at any level. It’s one of the top Lindy schools in the country, and they have quality instructors for practically any dance style. More importantly, the staff here strongly encourage an inclusive community. New dancers can be intimidated when cliques form and push newbies into being wallflowers. Certainly not the case here. This is an open, friendly environment, and a fantastic place for anyone to dance!

I learned the basics of lindy hop. The steps so far look nothing like the razzle dazzle dance I have seen on TV but I guess you have to get to the advanced level to learn the smooth moves. The instructor makes the whole group swap partners after every itteration, which means that even the shy and uninitiated will get their groove on. I had a hard time finding the place. Do not follow Sky Park Circle. Atomic Ballroom faces Red Hill Blvd at the corner of Red Hill and Main.

I come here weekly for Tango classes from Cerritos and I love it! Miguel and Claudia are a great teaching pair and they work very hard on technique, which is a necessity for tango. They also have an open dance every night based on the theme(Sunday is tango night) and there are always plenty of people around to dance and practice with… I haven’t found another ballroom that does that! Excellent music, teaching, and dance floor, with just as good prices. I will definitely be coming here for a long time.
