This place was awesome! The only reason I gave it 4 cause at times it did feel a little small and congested, but that isn’t their fault so I digress. First off the bar tender Seth was the man. Some of the best customer service I have ever had. I’ve worked in the industry for several years and and can be mentally and physically taxing, but this guy’s spirits were always high with the odds against him(give this man a raise!) he even hooked me up with a menu(which I wanted for obvious reason). Next off the food and beer selection were on point. Some of the best wings I have ever had., and it eaten a lot of «good» wings from high reputable places and they were right up there. Beer was reasonably priced and the ambiance was great. Would recommend this place for anyone visiting thru Iowa City!

Best place in town on a Thursday afternoon/early evening. The drinks are half-price, yes even their various craft beers. The food menu is solid offering the traditional bar fare at a great price. The staff is good and the seating is plentiful booth/bar. This isn’t a party bar, a mix & mingle bar or a «shots shots shots» bar, but if you want to catch a game in a laid-back atmosphere and no intention of a «night out on the town», this is the place.

Had dinner there tonight and would rate it a 10 if possible. Our waitress was quick to wait on us, very friendly, and checked to see if we needed anything often. I had the combo with the club sandwich on a decadent croissant, and a bread bowl of Wisconsin cheese soup that was so delicious. Very clean and friendly environment. Will definitely be back!!!

The only thing keeping this from being a one star review is the food. That being said, we made the mistake of ordering from here instead of the one in Coralville. When we went to coralville to pick it up, the bar tender was so nice and even gave us the right number to call for next time. I then called this place and let then know we were on our way and even explained the mistake since it’s apparently a common one. I finally get there to pick up the food and the bar tender proceeds to make fun of me for messing up locations, by offering for me to drive to Des Moines to get my food. Maybe consider saving the snark and just handing me the food I paid for and you won’t have to get a crappy review.

Stopped here for a drink and a snack before an event at The Englert. Boy was I disappointed. Don’t let the décor fool you… this is a college beer bar and nothing else. Ordered some onion rings and when they arrived there was 8 total rings and they were obviously frozen. Went to the bathroom was practically knocked over by the smell of hot piss. Maybe things are better at the Coralville location since their patrons may be less inclined to get stupid drunk.

Lunch at Quinton’s Iowa City. Delicious food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, clean. They have a TouchTunes music system so you can play songs from your smartphone. @Quintons_IC #icdowntown

Quinton’s downtown in Iowa City is a hard place to walk by without stopping in for at least one of their craft bottles or tap beer selection and great specials. Their food is mad boss too — try the McQuinton or any of their burgers. Service is always friendly and lots of televisions too.

The food is amazing; I always have a hard time deciding between the tree-hugger spud or the veggie sandwich. Not gonna lie, sometimes I just get both. Great atmosphere in both IA City and Coralville; the latter is a little more buttoned-up and kid-friendly, depending on what you’re going for. Service is decent. My only complaint is that our order arrives messed up at least 50% of the time, but it’s quickly fixed and sometimes comped. Regardless, still one of our favorite places, and certainly worth the drive from Cedar Rapids.

Worst cooks in Iowa city. They put an item my wife is allergic to on her sandwich. In addition they still charged us for it! What a terrible establishment. Will never go back.

Whenever I go back to visit Iowa City and am on a mission to get all my favorite foods quintons is always top on my list. I always enjoyed this place in college and still do to this day. Cheap drinks and food that hits the spot. I love the T.A.C. It’s my go to sandwich there. Pretty casual and chill place. It’s a Hawkeye favorite.

My mother-in-law and I stopped by one Saturday afternoon around 2:30. We had been on the road most of the day and we were really hungry — so we had high expectations for something to really hit the spot. There was only 1 bartender and 1 waitress which made the service slow — but it was totally worth it. She had the Delux burger and I had the Ringer. We both have been talking about this place for a week now because we both had, hands down the very best burgers we’ve ever had. Juicy. The most amazing buns. Incredible flavor. Really good homemade fries too. If that’s what you’re after — this is the place. They had an extensive menu that all looked really good. My only complaint is that I don’t live in Iowa City and can’t stop by more often. No question about it, I’ll definitely be back. Thanks!

Great bar, ok ish food. The bread bowl soups disgust me, as well as their truck sourced meat and cheese sandwiches. Great food for a bro or uneducated foodie. With the nice atmosphere and great bar selection, if this place were to step up its food game to use local and organic ingredients, I think the reviews would go up, and I would probably attempt eating here again.

Jumping right into it, I was pleasantly surprised by the Bacon Avocado Burger. In addition to the bacon and avocado, the chipoltle mayo took the burger to the next level, and with only a slight bite, which appeals to my palate. But frankly, the thing that made the meal was their fries. Hand cut on site, never frozen, they fried up well, weren’t mushy, and were served hot and salty. Yum. The wife loves potatoes and frequently mentions this place when in a potato mood. There aren’t many local places with baked potato entrée option — keep that up Quinton’s. Also, ask about their punch card; may save you $ 5/visit. Bottom line, have I been disappointed at times? Yes, but more often than not I leave happy — which is not the easiest of things to accomplish with me.

A cozy place, has not changed since I went to college a decade ago(might be time to replace the booth cushions). But the food is good and the beer selection is nice. I especially like the soup with bread bowl/half sandwich combo. Although the bakes potatoes have never steered me wrong.

While the place is kind of a dump, the sandwiches are great! Everything looks worn and beat down, but so does your grandpa and you love him. So appearances aren’t everything. My table split the Hey Cheeseball Spud(shredded cheddar and swiss cheese, butter, sour cream, chili con queso, bacon and chives). It was appropriately cheesy. I also appreciated there was salt on the outside of the potato. Nice touch. And I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The sauce was spicy without being face-melting. And when we were there, their special bread was a rosemary parmesean that tasted out of this world. I also ordered curly fries, which were solid. Could’ve used a bit more kick. Quinton’s isn’t fast.(But again, neither is your grandpa.) You’ve got to sit down and wait a fair amount of time for your sandwich. Thankfully, the wait is worth it.

Seems to be the place to go to get drunk on cheap beer. I haven’t tried the food, but it didn’t look or smell that appetizing.

Used to have legit food, now it’s better as a bar. The soups are ok and the sammy’s are better but not the gourmet comfort shop it once was. The bar on the other hand is fun times! Great jukebox.

Bottom line: decent food, poor service. I got the bread bowl soup & half sandwich combo. I went with the Smokestack for my sandwich — it tasted good but the beef was really fatty and the turkey was of the lunchmeat variety. For the soup I got the bacon potato — it was tasty but the bread bowl was really stale. Like, several days old and actually hard stale. The combo also comes with a bag of chips, which is unnecessary for the amount of food but appreciated(and tucked into my purse for a late-night snack after going out to the bars). Everyone seemed okay with their meal, though my friend’s fries were from two batches, one under-cooked and the other over-done. As far as the service went, our waitress was nice enough but wasn’t very good. We arranged our own table, retrieved an extra chair so we could all actually sit, grabbed our own menus, and only saw her for order-taking purposes — runners brought our food and she never came back to get a drink order for those of us that needed a minute to peruse the menu nor to see how our food was. She finally returned to drop off our bill, but that was all. Quinton’s isn’t the worst place you could hit, but I wouldn’t put it on the top of my list.

I’m just gonna say it — Quinton’s is my go to place in Iowa City. They have a lot of beers on tap and the food is quite good for the price. I am a big fan of the California Kid, which is a croissant with turkey, avocado, and cream cheese. I generally get that with a bread bowl of broccoli cheddar soup and a tall beer. Is it the best food you’ll have? No. Is it a perfect bar to hang out at and grab a non greasy bite to eat with your friends? There’s nothing better in Iowa City, that’s for sure.
