Tilly’s Club

I haven’t been to Tilly’s Club for a long, long time but my heart pines for Tilly’s, and the gorgeous Italian woman who owns the place. Especially around Christmas time. Highly recommended!

Honorary mayor Tomi keeps everyone in check with a gorgeous smile. Local bar with great local people. Very clean and friendly. Very welcoming to everyone. AWESOME!

Awesome bar on Main Street. The locals are friendly and the beer is cold. This place has been here forever. Highly recommend.

Nice folks. This is the local bar for the fireman school up the street. Ask to try the «fire in the hole!»

Cold beer in mini pitchers works well to quench the thirst. Clean, bartender raised hell along with our large group and kept the drinks flowing. Tributes to fallen CDF firefighters and to NYFD fallen members from 9 – 11 made me appreciate the bar even more. Cool place to hit in a little Gold Rush town!

Random chance that’d you’d find yourself in Ione on a Saturday night, but I did.
Rare that people in a dive bar would stare at you as you walk in, in such a «these people ain’t locals» sort of way, but they did.*
Never before been seen or heard: me doing karaōke (Bonnie Raitt-​Something to Talk About) in a public place. But I did.
And just amazing… locals Western swing dancing to karaōke all night long. Yes they do.
Drinks are around $ 4 a pop, and aren’t that great, but for the atmosphere, the karaōke, the dancing, and the pool tables, Tilly’s redeems itself many times over.
*Some people are going to argue that it isn’t a dive bar unless the locals stare, but I don’t generally find that people single me out as a non-​local unless I’m in a really, really small town. Ione is apparently a really, really small town.
