This was an all around terrible experience. My husband and I ordered chicken chow mien, Mongolian beef, chicken vegetables and a side of steamed rice. My husband has a shell fish allergy and our Mongolian beef was cooked in the same pan as a shrimp dish of someone else’s order. Not only was the Mongolian beef covered in shrimp juices making it not edible it was so overly salted it was not even tolerable for either one of us, same with the chow mien, i took one bite and had to chug my glass of water, the chicken and vegetables was disgusting flavor and rubbery chicken made me feel like i was eating an unknown meat source… NONE of our food was able to be eaten and our check was dropped off at our table with our dishes we ordered FULL and our plates clean and our bellies left hungry, the guy KNEW there was something wrong and NEVER asked how was everything or can i get you anything else… its just the Worst part about all of this was how CLEAR it was to the girl server and male server that there was a problem with our food neither mentioned anything and dropped off our bill and we paid a $ 45 bill for taking ONE bite of each horrible, horrible dish. As much as we wanted to say something we didn’t because of the other guest in the restaurant. WEWILLNEVERRETURNHEREAGAIN and we will make sure to let our family and friends in the area spread the word about this place… they care about one thing your money and not quality of the food definitely not hospitality. They were pushing out togo orders before our meal and we were left there waiting for our food only to get our food half assed and gross.

It’s certainly not getting any better, but still OK. In Ione, it’s the only Chinese food there is. Just wish there was some really great Chinese food somewhere in the county. But there just isn’t. This is about par for the competition.

Best Chinese food in Amador Co. One of their best dishes is General’s chicken. You can order it mild to spicy.

I loved their food –have eaten there many times. The wonton soup is especially good. BUT this last time it was not up to par. I’ve ordered their Mongolian Beef many times and loved it. I was surprised the last time I ordered it as it was pretty flavorless… like they forgot something. I hear they may have a new cook that would explain it. Too bad cause there’s not much in Ione for good food. My mom got sick from eating there. Sad… note to Ione Chinese Food: Get your act together or you will join the ranks of other restaurants in Ione that have crashed and burned.

The food and service here is always great! We never had a problem when we come to Ione Chinese. We like to order something new every time and the adventure has been great so far. Yummy food & fast service. Very friendly staff, though sometimes it’s very hard to understand that so many people under-tip these girls. These girls work so hard, so sometimes it still amazes my husband and I to see people not tipping them. The food come out fast, but they are extremely hot and fresh, definitely not like buffet food. :)

Pretty standard menu, generally good food, friendly staff. This the best Chinese restaurant in Amador County, although some might say the pickings are pretty slim hereabouts. Nonetheless, the Ione Chinese Restaurant is a solid neighborhood place to eat. Recommended.

Good Chinese food. Fast and friendly service. We love the hot and sour soup, chow mein, and Mongolian chicken! While it is the only Chinese food restaurant in Ione, it’s high on our list and we enjoy introducing our family to this gem!

I wish I could give no stars! Definitely the worst Chinese I’ve ever had! Guys get some popcorn this is gonna be long! So to start off we were in the area looking for a place to eat because we were starving from all the swimming(not from the area). We went in a party of 6 people. They sat us down and nobody offered us drinks. She came to take our food order but still hadn’t offered drinks so we had to just tell her about the drinks. Which btw was basically pure ice. We placed our order for the family dinner A. They brought our food like 2 minutes later but to me that was strange because we were the only customers so how could it of been ready and fresh. That is why I choose restaurants over buffet because of the freshness. And that was exactly what the food tasted like. old buffet food that has been sitting there all day but recently thrown in the microwave, and the portions were really small for six people. Anyways we were starving so we are. Throughout our meal nobody brought us napkins or anything and then brought us the check. They don’t use legit receipts just some scribbles and numbers on a paper, So I asked the cashier to explain it to me and she mentioned a gratituity of like 30 percent!!! My ticket was 73 dollars so why the hell was my total 93??? I explained to her what my service was like and she said fine you don’t have to pay gratuity but we will not give you service anymore. By then I was baffled by the treatment of the employee. Guys wait I’m not done!!! The best part was when the girl who had been our waitress came banging doors and chairs out of the kitchen! Screaming things in her language like she was all big and bad! I swear if I didn’t have small children with me I would of knocked her out right then for all the disrespect towards my family. I started to walk out the restaurant when the cashier started asking why I didn’t want to pay gratuity of they brought my food to the table, I was so done with them I told her to shut the f*** up and tell the other B**** to tell me what she’s screaming in English! I walked out went to my car. I’m telling these people are immature. My little 5 year old brother had left his water bottle on the table and the waitress felt it was necessary to come throw it away in the trash can out side by my car to extend her show. Do not come here. The food is nasty and the service is nastier! Yes I also went here for the 4 stars but they all come from like 2013 this place has obviously changed for the worse through the years!

Best Chinese food in the area. I wish they would add tempura style shrimp to the menu instead of the breaded style they have now though. Service is good and prices are fair.

My husband and I LOVE this chinese restaurant. We live in Jackson and drive to Ione because we like it so much. We don’t eat at any of the chinese restaurants in Jackson because they are all BAD. The staff here is nice, food comes out quick and is steaming hot. Honestly, I like Ione Chinese better than PF Chang’s. Seriously. And you pay a quarter of the price at Ione compared to PF Changs. Try it and you won’t be disappointed, promise!

Did not like the food at all. The Kung pow chicken was mostly peanuts zucchini and celery. The general chicken was not very good and the sweet and sour pork was really soggy and had hardly any sauce. The chow me in was good though. I paid $ 40 for the four items and I will not be going back.

Took a tip from a neighbor and decided to try some Chinese food in Ione. We got in on their lunch special and tried 2 plates. One was fried rice and a Spicy stir-fried chicken dish. The fried rice was very good, but too salty for me. The stir fry was OK, nothing special. The other plate was a spicy beef dish with vegetables and that was better. The restaurant is clean and the service was good. We will try some other dishes the next time we go. I heard their sizzling seafood platter is good and also their sweet and sour pork. So, we are sure to venture out there again.

Very good Chinese food. Fast service including takeout. Nothing exotic, just the typical Chinese-American fare that most come to expect in Chinese restaurants. Ingredients are fresh and prepared nicely. Clean and comfortable. I would compare this establishment to just about any of the regular Chinese restaurants in San Francisco. It is definitely the best Chinese food in Amador county.

We have tried several Chinese Resturant’s in and around Jackson. All of them were bland. We usually try to go Chinese once a weak. We decided to try the Ione Chinese Restaurant. Went here based on talking to the locals. Wow what a surprise. Finally found a decent place around here. It’s a small hole in the wall, but service was good, food was tasty. Recommend the sweet and sour pork(not fatty at all). Chow mien was good too. Not the best I’ve ever had, but the best I’ve found in this area and we’ve been searching. 3 and half stars.

By far the best Chinese restaurant I’ve been to in the Amador & Sacramento area. Prices could be a little less expensive but the food is superb. I highly recommend the Sesame chicken and Honey walnut prawns. Very succulent and flavorful. Something that I noticed lacked thus far in other local Chinese restaurants.

Yay another Ione restaurant review! Today kids, we’re going to be discussing Ione’s lone ethnic food establishment! That’s right the«exotic» Ione Chinese Restaurant! I know what you’re thinking… «Chinese food in the middle of rural California? Pass!» Well buster, you’d be missing out on one of Ione’s better restaurants. OK, so they use the frozen peas and carrots from the grocery freezer case in their soup and fried rice… Annnnd their chow mein is on the meh side. But you better believe that they make the best sweet and sour pork I’ve had in recent memory. Perfectly coated, crispy on the outside, yet tender on the inside… You’ll think you’ve died and gone to a glazed, unnaturally red colored heaven. Bottom Line: Ione Chinese Restaurant is a great option if you are looking for something a little different in Ione. Had to knock off a star for the peas & carrots thing, but this guai lo deems ICR road stop worthy.
