Went to Zetts on Saturday, got there at 7:15am. The problem is, they only stock fish on Mondays. By the time Saturday swings around, most of the cat fish seem to be scarce except for the monster sized catfish you have to put back. After 8 hours of fishing, we managed to catch three catfish.

This is a great place to take the family for a day of fishing. They are open 7:00AM to 6:00PM. It is seasonal, so check their web site to make sure they are open
They are usually closed Mondays, but this Memorial Day they WILL be open. This is a fish hatchery and they stock ponds in the area, among other things. But they have about a dozen small lakes for the public to fish in, and they are easily accessible by car and you just park on the side of the road by the pond. Many benches to sit on, and there are some covered picnic tables too. The covered spots are good if it should rain, or be a blazing hot sunny day. They have an area by the«store» that is handicapped(wheelchair) accessible. They sell all the bait you might need, several varieties. They also have some snacks and drinks. Not sure if they rent fishing poles, so I recomend bringing your own. They do sell fishing tackle if you come up short on anything, but you are better off stocking up at Wal-Mart on snacks, drinks, tackle, and night crawlers before you go. Some people not only bring a cooler, but a BBQ grill. I can’t tell you what fish you could hope to catch, but certainly they have catfish and others. Our catch today was nothing to write home about, but a few fellows caught several catfish that looked about 24″. On our last outing we had about three«keepers» that we made a nice fried catfishe dinner out of, along with some«fried green tomatoes». YUMMY. And they let you take home up to six fish per person per day. Anything over 35″ though you have to put back. The downside in terms of facilities is that they only have port-a-johns, but you get a ticket and it’s good all day so you can leave for lunch and return. It is a couple of miles from Inwood where there is Sheets and fast food places(exit 5 of I-81).
