This place has quickly become my least favorite pizzeria. Customer service wise, they have fell off. Placed a couple orders recently for delivery and pick up via phone. I felt rushed and brushed off. The order taker was impatient and a bit rude both times. Not to mention I didn’t get a thank you at the end of any of the calls, instead I said thank you to the order taker despite his lack of gratitude for my business. What i received in response to my thank you, was the phone slamming in my ear both times. Done.

Food is inconsistent and there are better options available in the area. I ordered the same salad 5 times and each time it comes with different things in it. The last salad I received was the worst: a cesaer salad with grilled chicken — and green olives??? It was horrible. The pizza was fair. Not enough quality cheese or sauce. The dough was undercooked. The owner is too busy with his other pizza stores to pay attention to what is going on at his Inwood store. Such a shame, since I remember Max since he started with my friend Peppe. DEFINITELY not the pizza we had at Schiano’s!

Oh how I miss Max’s! This was the best place to get pizza in the Inwood/Lawrence area. Unfortunately I live all the way in Manorville now, so I haven’t had too many chances to get here since moving to Manorville ten years ago. Lauren O is right none of the other pizza places in the Inwood/Lawrence area can compete with Max’s. Mauro’s is the only competition Max has, and even Mauro’s is not as good as Max’s. Ciccio Boy? Forget it! The pizza at that place never tasted the way a pizza should taste. Ciccio Boy is mediocre at best and that may be putting it kindly. South Shore Pizzeria? Don’t even get me started on them. They are the worst in the area! That pizzeria has had so many name changes over the years I’m amazed it’s still called South Shore Pizzeria. Max rocks when it comes to friendly, charming, courteous service. I wonder if Lisa who was one of the waitresses when I last went there is still there, she was a sweetheart and Max himself is one of the nicest owners you’ll ever meet. So if any of you Unilocalers are reading this, and you want to find the best pizza in the Five Towns look no further than Max’s.

Best pizza in the 5 towns. The pizzas are consistent, which is a hard quality to find in a pizzeria. Best Grandma’s pie! Caesar Salad Chicken slice is amazing as well!

One of the better slices to get in Inwood. Been coming here for years, not my favorite spot, but service is good and the slice is decent. Had a pretty good slice this week. This place does get pretty busy on some days though and if you ask for delivery, it make take awhile.

This pizza is pretty good. Not too crazy about it though as the bread feels too bready? Like too spongy maybe? The garlic knots are great.

Very solid pizza stumbled upon in an industrial corner of Inwood. The Grandma is the slice to get here — delicious. Max himself mans the oven and is very friendly and engaging. If you find yourself, as I did, in this corner on the backside of JFK, do yourself a favor and visit Max’s.
