I recently went down to the Villages to visit my Dad’s new place, and I was hankering for a pedicure in preparation of sunny Florida. After looking in the Yellow Pages he picked the Salon Professional Academy due to the full page ad and was able to get us same day appointment. They also offer a full range of hair and makeup services. Despite having an appointment we had a 15 minutes delay, which was fine, we were able to read magazines and look at the products on display. I was greeted by my technician led over to the bank of chairs. She mentioned a special they had on paraffin treatments(almost 2 for 1) so I took her up on the offer since I’d never had one, and it was awesome! She took her time to do things correctly and made sure I was comfortable. I will say I was disappointed in the amount of ex foliation that was done on my heels, that’s half the point of the pedicure! They don’t teach razoring. Polish job was great and they had OPI color choices. Since this is a teaching salon it can be hit or miss depending on your student. My friend said she won’t be going back, due to a) getting stuck in the corner station with a towel draped over her b) the student didn’t offer her anything about the parafin and she kinda wanted to do it c) no attention was paid to the nails beyond some light filing. Overall I think it’s good if you have a lot of time to kill and want to save some money. Ergo a great place so the Villages women can maintain their looks on the cheap. After visiting the town squares we found that each has a nail place and next time I think I’ll be visiting those instead to make for a nice round of lunch/shopping/nails.
