I’ve shopped at Zahra’s off and on over the years. I love this store. Every time I come in after not having shopped for a while, I’m always reminded what a gem of a store it really is. If you can’t find the book you want just ask. They can possibly order it for you. Also plenty of free parking.

Went here to send a fax and the customer service was terrible. I don’t mind waiting while another customer is being helped, but the wait was quite long and when I inquired with the lady on how much longer its going to be, she gave me major attitude. Of course I walked out and went to another printing place about 5 minutes away, where the service was absolutely wonderful! Will not return. I don’t care what color a person is. or who owns the business if the service is terrible, my $ won’t be spent there.

Nice old bookstore. You won’t find many older books unless I passed that section. The books still seemed pretty cool if you were looking for something specific. There is a psychology section which has lots of different topics and maybe if I was still in school, it would be helpful. Owner gives out free fruit and is very kind. Don’t forget to feed the parking meter.

Wanted to support but customer service was terrible. I’ll rather shop for the items I was interested in online instead.

Independent Black Owned book stores don’t get enough credit. I love this place! My mother use to come here when I was a kid, over 20 years ago! The two women(I think they’re sisters) are always so nice and so sweet! They always greet me with a smile and are so helpful! The selection of books is great! Black well known and independent writers! If you know what you like to read interest wise, then they can point you in the direction of some great books! I go for my daughter too! Passed down to another generation :) She’s 9 years old and loves to read! Right now she’s in a great series written by Whoopi Goldberg. Before this series, it was another written by Kim Wayans. She doesn’t need to be reading teen bop magazines, these books are right in her lane and she loves when we visit Zahra’s! Thank you ladies for being in the neighborhood! I appreciate you and will be a customer for as long as you’re here! SN: They have P.O. boxes for rent, computer/fax services, and numerous other helpful services! Just can’t think of them all right now :)

I was a customer of this bookstore for many years but not anymore. I was putting up with the MAJOR attitude from the ladies that work there but not anymore! The last time I went there the service was blantantly RUDE! I’m not going to include the worst part but let me say when Iwalked in there to do my Christmas shopping at the time, the girl behind the counter frowned at me! That was it I immediately walked out. I live far from this place but wanted to support a small bookstore since they are becoming so obsolete. Like I said I was customer for many years dealing with unfriendly women who worked in the store now I just shop on amazon for my books.

A top rate Black owned Bookstore with books up the yang. All new releases and they’ll search for a book if they don’t stock it. Lots of authentic African artifacts and art, straight from Africa. The owners go to Africa themselves to pick the collection. A great place to buy gifts from the Cidne Wallace Collection, Annie Lee and other artists. They buy and sell used books oils, calendars purses and totes. The location is great and plenty of parking in the back. Convenient as it sits near Ralphs so you can get your grocery shopping on at the same time.
