Today Nails

Today was my first time ever at this location. I was desperate to get my nails done and did not have time to go to my regular nailshop. I walked in and everyone was really friendly. A woman by the name of Lee did my nails. Every customer who walked in seemed to know the employees by name which put me at ease. The shop is small but clean. I got oval shaped nails with gel glitter color and a spa pedicure for $ 55. Reasonable prices and good work.

Honestly, I’ve done my nails a couple times here and they haven’t been the best. There is one older lady that is so nice and careful but the nails are not long lasting… they break after 2 weeks of having them. And i believe they might do it on purpose just so you can go back and waste more money. They also start getting unevenn. I strongly recommend visiting another nail salon if you want long-​lasting nails.

So I’m sure the ladies here meant well but it’s true, you get what you pay for. Always check out the polish selection, that will usually determine the whole experience. That was scary, barely half full at max in an array of brands, many dried out, no OPI, or Essie in sight. But they did have ESSIE bottles for sale in their cabinets. Luckily, I bring my own just in case.
The place was minimal. I don’t mind supporting the locals but the conversation amongst the 3 ladies was deafening, and I’m hard of hearing. It didn’t help that they also had the TV on a Vietnamese station on full blast. I was almost afraid that I’d get cut since my manicurist watched the TV for the majority of my manicure, we didn’t converse at all, which can be nice if you knew that they were focused on your phalanges. So no stars for atmosphere. The effort was okay, I had to tell her to put basecoat on my toes, which I question if it really was basecoat before she applied my polish, we’ll see if my toe polish lasts. The massage was dismal, she went on auto-​pilot, glad she didn’t offer more on both my hands and legs. When she did my hands she put so much topcoat, I need to trim the excess. At least, the polish was evenly painted on. I tipped well, everyone is struggling in this economy but they really need to put an effort for me to return.

I’ve been getting my nails done here for over 10 years ! I personally always get my nails done by Tina! She’s lovely. Today nails have decent pricing. They also do eye lash extension and waxing.
