4 years after my first review and I just want to reiterate that I would NEVER take my children there. In fact, after we had our first incident with the dental assistant, I filed a complaint with our insurance company and then spoke with several(now) previous patients and informed them of our experience. They immediately changed their choice in pedodontists and never returned here. Do NOT take your children here. They will force you to let them go back by themselves, be tied on the pedo-board, and then be at risk for someone to yell at them.

Normally, a place like this would not even be on my radar. But it came to be that my wife(a foster parent for many years) had patronized Dr. Barconey because her office accepts supplemental benefits. I thought, «What the heck?» For the sake of convenience, we began taking our biological children here too. It did not take long to discover that there are two levels of «priority» in this office. 1) Private Pay & Group Benefits &2) Supplemental Benefits. The waiting room is always a mad house shortly after opening. Frequently packed beyond seating capacity due to what I suspect is double booking of time slots. Back to the presumed levels of treatment… Priority Level #1 will get you a scheduled appointment and allow your child to be seen within an hour of the scheduled time. It apparently also grants them the option to run crazy with exhorbitant charges for things like children’s aspirin. Priority Level #2 will get you seen eventually but obviously caps the out-of-pocket charges. So, they are careful to warn you of the $ 50-$ 75 additional charge for aspirin beforehand(something about only accepting cash). They also ask you to bring your own applesause for mixing the crushed pills. It was at the point of warning that I told them I refused to pay the premium for aspirin and would just go elsewhere. To appease me, they initially agreed to waive the fee and only collected the co-pay for the work done on the day of the appointment. Not long after the appointment I began receiving bills by mail for the aspirin. Only after expressing out loud my frustration and disgust about them reneging in front of my children was I told how much they hated going to this dental office and of the treatment they received once behind the door. My eldest daughter told me that her arms were tied down and that her legs were pinned by an assistant. My yongest daughter told me that Dr. Barconey told her«If you kick me, I’m gonna kick you back». As an involved and concerned parent, how could I have missed these incidents at the points of occurence? It really hurt my heart to hear of this maltreatment so long after the fact. I must admit, I half way questioned whether or not my children were exaggerating. But after reading the only other Unilocalreview for Dr. Barconey, I have no further doubts. It is now clear to me the reason why they refuse to allow parents behind«THEDOOR». When the dental work is done, they pacify their horrible treatment of your childrenr with the provision of complimentary balloons, toothbrushes and floss. By the time your child is brought back out front, any issues already have«bandaids». Gonna pay this bill and truly be done with Dr. Linda Barconey and her less than appealing dental office. Can’t believe these folks tried to sell me on their ability to accomodate adult patients too, Eek! Methinks not!!!
