If I could give this shop negative stars, I would. I’m in the navy and shipping out soon, so I figured I’d come and get a fresh cut with a beautiful lotus design, to express my love of art and flowers while I’m away at sea, but that went extremely wrong. Let’s start with me arriving and waiting five hours for a hair cut. I walked in, only to be ignored by all three barbers working. I figure«alright, they’re busy, it’s fine» but I noticed when ever men walked in, it was immediate hellos and what would you like. I got there around 4:15, ended up not leaving the shop until almost 9PM. Which is understandable since it’s a back to school weekend and I know everyone wants their hair to look great. But what isn’t understandable is why would a business know they have a busy weekend and keep themselves understaffed. By 6:30 two barbers had left and only one remained. I decided since I already waited for a while, I wouldn’t mind waiting a while longer. That is up until it was my turn, having already waiting four hours at this point, I was glad to finally get out of there; but the barber decided to call up someone who came damn near two hours after I had, it was already 8:45 by this point and I’d be damned if I wasn’t getting my hair cut. As for the haircut. It’s literally the worst one I’ve had in my entire life. I gave VERY specific guidelines to my haircut. I showed my barber a reference photo, not once but twice. I’d had been excited for weeks since my hair was finally long enough to warrant a cut. Only thing is, when I turned around and got to look at the back of my head, it was nothing like my photo. My hair and design was absolutely butchered and had none of the original elements at all. He asked if it was okay, and me; a young woman on the verge of tears who is much too shy to be confrontational, lied and said sure. I payed(almost 30 dollars too, for something I absolutely hate.) and walked out, and went outside to wait for my ride. As soon as I turned the corner, I burst into tears. I still at this point cannot believe how horrible and mutated my design turned out to be. How can one claim to be a professional and yet purposely do the exact opposite of what a costumer asks is beyond me! As I write this review I wish I had the courage to say something while I was there and refuse payment, but it’s done with now. I’ll be going to a different barber tomorrow morning to see what kind of damage control I can do. Needless to say, I will never come back to this barbershop ever again, and I’ll recommend any of my friends who decide to get a haircut to stay away also!

So I have a mixed child and needed a barber that knew how to cut because the last Hispanic to touch my son’s hair did a terrible job. Got on Unilocal and found this shop about 5 months ago. Walked in and the dude on the right hand side(first chair) was open, didn’t catch his name. He did an ok job. Told him I was new but he really didn’t say much, seemed like he was having a bad day. Anyways, I still tipped him $ 10, just for doing a good job although his customer service was terrible. He never explained to me about appointments or anything. Well today, I walked in to him(11am) and he tells me that he’s booked all the way till 2pm. Sigh… I was a little sad because I had already payed for parking and I had a big stroller w my baby. So this meant I had just lost money, time and effort lol– asked him if he could ask the other barbers there if anybody could take my son(there were like 6 others barbers). He asked only one who said he had one more person after the one he was doing. So bummed out, I turned and left. I felt they were being asses with me and wasn’t planning to go back ever again. When I was loading my baby into the car, a barber came out running and asked what had happened. Told him I was told they were busy and he explained that there were other barbers there who could take my son. I explained that the guy there asked one other guy and I was also turned down. He said he could take my son after he was done. I was very thankful. His name is Trevor. He is the bomb! Trevor, if you ever read this, THANKYOU for going the extra mile for a customer. I was shocked to see the other two dudes who claimed they had customers, sit their asses there doing nothing. Meaning they had lied. It is what it is. People like that don’t get blessed and if you don’t care about your hustle, I care about mines. I felt awkward so I don’t think I’ll be going back but if you feel like you need a barber, hit Trevor up.

Do not come here! Had my hair cut here and they did a horrible job. Wish I had taken my hard earned money else where.

Since we were visiting from out of town we relied on Unilocal to hook us up with a good barber. .and Unilocal did just that. We got extremely lucky that Dion had an available spot preety much right away and lined my son and my man up instantly. I would highly recommend Dion. as I usually have to point out at least one or 2 things I want fixed on my son…(yeah I’m picky)… BUT with DION there was nothing I had to point out. It was literally perfect. Plus there is a great fuseball table to entertain the kids. .definitely a GREAT urban spot and very family friendly. Go see Dion. You wont regret it.

This is an elevated urban barbershop. The barbers were very professional when I called to make an appointment for my significant other. When we walked in we were immediately greeted, the cut was wonderful and affordable. Definitely will return.

I would like to write and tell people about my awesome cut by Mike Lowery at In The Cut in Noho on Magnolia near Tujunga blvd. It was my first time and I left with an absolutely great cut. I loved the fade, but it was the all around cut that I enjoyed the most. Thank you, Mike! =] Gustavo

How not to run a business: a customer come in to get a haircut. Ignore him completely. He sits down anyway to wait. When you finish cutting someone’s hair, continue to ignore him, go outside and start talking on your cell phone. The customer goes to another barber, never to return. The end.
