This has to be the best fish market in town. I’ve tried a few other places in the area and none of them have beat Gomo’s. I usually get the dinner combo(2 fish and 6 med shrimp) it also comes with a side and slice of bread. The fish and shrimp always taste fresh and is seasoned to perfection. They have quick and friendly service to top it off.

If I could post a negative I would!!! I found a hair in my to go container. Luckily it was under the cup containing the Cole slaw but still!!! I thought because it wasn’t touching food it was okay to eat. Dumb me! I wish I’d taken a picture. Now 5 hours later I’m feeling a little nauseous. Coincidence??? Never again will I visit this place!!!

I had to give Gomo’s five stars! The quality of their food AND service is absolutely phenomenal. Whether charbroiled or fried, the food is delicious. My usual is fillet sole and medium shrimp and I’m addicted! The fish is so fresh and so perfectly fried — there isn’t an overwhelming amount of batter or grease. There also isn’t any of that nasty, gray slimy stuff on the inside of the fish. I don’t know how else to describe it, but it disgusts me. Anyway, if you’re a lover of seafood and DELICIOUS food in general, eat here. Your taste buds will thank you.

This place will be getting my money at least once a week. The fried okra is melting in my mouth. Fried or charbroiled it is the best. True it’s a hole in the wall, but never underestimate the under dog. I recommend this place to anyone.

Let me first say that the food is BOMB! With that being said, this is absolutely not a five star restaurant or anywhere to go on a date, its basically a «hole in the wall» kind of place but with some bomb fish, fries, shrimp and gumbo. The woman helping us was really nice, the prices are slightly steep for what it is but not unreasonable. Overall, the wife and I wanted some really good fried fish and shrimp and gumbo and thats what we got. Next time, we would definitely get more of the jumbo fried shrimp with their seasoned tartar sauce. It was BOMB!!!

I’ve passed this place almost every day for 4 years and never thought to even try it. It’s a hole in the wall kind of fish joint, which most in L.A. are, so me saying that doesn’t mean anything. But don’t think you’re going to sit down and eat there, it’s not that kind of establishment … lol That being said, within the last 2 months my husband and I have eaten there about 6 times. We’ve had the fried catfish, filet of sole, red snapper, sandabs, jumbo shrimp, and orange roughy. We also had grilled(Yes they grill… yay!) salmon. All the fish has been fresh. The fried fish was not salty, but flavorful with a wonderful crispness on the outside and not breaded too heavily. You can get a delicious garlic butter sauce for your grilled fish. This is now our go-to fish place. This fish reminds me of Fishtown on 54th. If you have tried and loved Fishtown, try Gomo. Fishtown is just a little out of the way and Gomo is so close to home. So glad we finally tried this place. By the way, my picture is the sandabs, not sole, but I couldn’t edit it.

I tried this place tonight in a quest to find the«hidden gem» that neighborhoods tend to have. So, in quest to find the next great fish place, tried this place… It was ok, nothing that got my taste buds dancing. I got the family meal C which consisted of 20 pieces of fish(I got fillet of sole and catfish fillet), 25 medium shrimp, french fries, macaroni salad, hush puppies and 2 liter soda. The fish was seasoned well, not too salty not bland but just the right amount of seasoning. However, the fish was a little too soft for my liking, I like my fish fried a bit longer, but, I’m sure I could make that request with future orders. The French fries where soggy(I’m a fry snob), the Macaroni salad was not too wet, not too dry. The tarter sauce was good, thick and had good flavor. All in all good meal. I will give this place another try.

This place is not«whole» in the wall. It’s just a hole in the wall. But, the fish was tastier, crispier and better seasoned, without being salty, than I’ve had in a long, long, looong time. I ordered the family pack A. That comes with 12 shrimp, 10 pieces of fish(in any combination you choose), and 2 sides. It was quite a bit of food for under $ 25.00. I threw in some extra hush puppies for good measure. I still got out of there with lunch and dinner for my family of three for under $ 30.00 total. The hush puppies were crisp and golden brown on the outside, while being soft and moist on the inside. The cabbage in the coleslaw was fresh, with just a hint a mayo. The fries were fries… always good. The shrimp were just little butterflied pieces of heaven! Oh, and the sole was amazing! I have had sole before, but it was never a favorite of mine. NOWITIS!!! The sole, alone, is worth it! Sorry for the lack of pictures. I was too busy actually enjoying my food to photograph it.

It’s a hole in the wall, But the fish is amazing. Get the filet of sole! Everyone I’ve introduced to this place says it’s the best fish they’ve tasted.

Yeah, this place is unimpressive from the inside and the outside, but the food is good and well-priced compared to lots of other places. Located on the corner of a market(don’t go in the market, Gomo’s has a separate entrance) that wants to be a strip mall, this is a true mom and pop neighborhood place. Ordering the $ 12.99 combo will you get 4 pieces of fish(they will let mix and match from what they offer, including whiting, catfish and red snapper) and 12 medium shrimp, plus a slice of bread and 1 side order(greens, fries, etc). it’s enough to serve 2 people with some left over. They also serve chicken nuggets, chicken wings and fried jars of oysters(still not clear as to how this is a delicacy, but hey). Haven’t tried the gumbo yet, and if you walk inside look around for the board with specials on it. Note that they also *grill* fish too! Everything is tasty fresh and for me, the big plus is that the fat they use to fry has *never* been off or rancid since we’ve been ordering from them. You know you’ve eaten at places where they use the fat in the fryer *forever* and the fries taste like fish, the fish tastes like last month’s fish, and the place smells like fish. This place isn’t like that! The food is cooked fresh and not soggy as long as you eat it fast, we live nearby so it’s still piping hot by the time we get home, and the staff is observant enough to cut airholes in the styrofoam packaging to help things out a bit. My only not-really-a-complaint is that sometimes you get hush puppies(for free?) with your order and sometimes you don’t. Could be the difference between a Lunch and a Dinner order but never asked. My order today came with hush puppies so I’m ok :) Orders come with hot sauce, to-die-for tartar sauce and a slice of lemon or lime. I am addicted to their tartar sauce BTW. This place is a keeper and I like supporting an affordable neighborhood joint vs. giving my money to a high-priced chain! It’s definitely not fancy, but the price makes up for it! p.s park in the insanely tight lot if you can, otherwise read the street parking signs carefully! Metered parking is across the street at the Subway.

Always passed this fish market, really easy to pass it and not even notice. Stopped by craving some shrimp figured I give it a shot, it was good not the best I’ve had the jumbo shrimp was good the fries were soggy and barely give enough hot sauce. The place is run down looking, I’ll stick to my Louisiana fish market in Carson for my seafood fix. But for the area its probably the best you can find in the wood.

I was driving in Inglewood and noticed a store front that read«YOUBUY — WEFRY» and I thought … why not give it a try? I drive by this place often on Manchester and always wondered. Being a person who loves fried fish and the nearest place I use to get my fried fish was from a Filipino Market in Glendale. Not wanting to make that trip for a long time. I settled on pulling up to this place with a grade«A» sign in front. I ventured in to find a take-out window and two wooden benches in front. I checked out the menu and was surprised at the prices. Skepticism showed up and I inquried about the prices from a young Omar and he noted the prices are correct. Good deal! I ordered a 5 fish + 5(J) shrimps called the«5and5» with fries and side of greens. I went to my car to test the fish and I said, «Where is mama? I need to slap her! This fish is excellent!» And so much fish the fish were large too. I order from other fried fish houses on Slauson in the Wood and what I paid here I pay at the other place and end up with less. I went back inside and decided to try their gumbo. It was slammin’ too! I ordered up some fried okra and I was set. I was perusing their menu and noticed for $ 60 I can get enough fish, shrimps, and sides to feed 3 familes. So my next visit I am ordering up this deal for the church luncheon. The gumbo was kickin’! A must try. Don’t let the store front fool you. Now go get some fried fish!
