Diego’s Mexican Grill

I love this place, great food and great customer service, the ladies there are so nice I took my father there he’s on a special diet and they put something together for him that wasn’t on the menu. I returned weeks later without him and they asked me how he was doing very sweet ladies that work there. I LOVE their chavelas and chips and salsa. They also have a buffet on Sunday and its sooooo yummy and very reasonable. I just love this place =)

Amazing Mexican Food! Delicious burritos with fresh guacamole served on the side and the Tortas were by far the most delicious in the area, and for the $ 4.99 price it’s one the best deals around! Must try!

Great food salsa bites your tongue in a good way ANNNNNNDDDD their restrooms are extremely clean.

I ordered an Al Pastor torta. Very filling and it was freshly made to order. Bread was crispy and soft! Also had really good green salsa that made it taste even better! Their micheladas are very good also… they were around $ 5. Good size also.

Great food, great service, good prices! Indio has the most authentic Mexican food in the Coachella Valley. Diego’s is our favorite hole in the wall place. Watch out for the lunch hour, everyone comes here from surrounding places like the courthouse, from work. @HACK@ Also, you can order from the Sushi spot next door and be served here because they are the same owners and have an adjoining back kitchen area.

We frequented this place almost weekly. Unfortunately, nothing too good lasts very long. We called in take out last night & waited a good amount of time before leaving so that it would most certainly be ready when we arrived. Upon arrival, we were sorely DISAPPOINTED. Not only had prices gone up by $ 2 on almost every menu item but they hadn’t even started on our order! The woman up front wasn’t even aware anyone had taken a phone order. Food quality has really gone downhill. My husband’s torta hardly had any meat! Not only did we have a long wait but food was made in a hurry & it showed. We probably won’t be back. Too bad Diego’s, you had a good thing going.

So I had picked up a menu (in 2014) prior to eating here. I was interested because everything on the menu was $ 5 and I love Mexican food! So about 2 weeks ago, I decided to try it out. I was pretty disappointed.
When I went in, I noticed that the prices were different. The torta for example was now $ 7. I asked about a price change and he said «yeah we raised everything by only a dollar.» Well it was actually $ 2… and from $ 5 to $ 7 is a 40% increase!!! Not sure what they owner was thinking. Anyways, I would gladly pay $ 7 for a good quality torta.
Unfortunately, this one was not. The good: the sandwich was big, bread was tasty, and the lettuce was crisp. The bad: the dark meat chicken was of low quality, and the avocado was three small pieces on a large sandwich. Why bother? The torta overall was mediocre at best and for $ 7, def not worth it.

I guess I expected too much from the review in Unilocal.You don’t say «I am busy» to your customers. We ordered first and boy these ugly men were served first. Very disappointing on their service.

in town on vacation looking for a cheap and easy place to get some late night dinner. their regular menu had many options to choose from at great prices! including $ 2.99 kids meals… great! the staff was very friendly, helpful, and patient. would go to again any time in town…

We were looking for a good late night Mexican restaurant and we found a great one! The food was amazing. Our party ordered nachos, the enchilada plate, a torta, the shrimp cocktail, tacos, and quesadillas. We all loved it AND the prices were very affordable. Highly recommend.

Green Chicken Enchiladas are great! So is the ice cold bottles of negro modelo!

Good food. Reasonable prices. Basket of chips was excellent with some added salt. They were homemade, came out hot and were thick.

Went here for breakfast before stagecoach and was pleased with the food and service. Chorizo burrito was really good. My girlfriend enjoyed the machaca burrito. Chips and salsa were excellent! We r from the OC so the prices seemed average for what we got.

We were pleasantly surprised after trying Diego’s for the first time. The food is pretty good and the place was clean and not too busy. The staff could be a bit more friendly, but all in all it was a decent, inexpensive place.

Has pretty decent Mexican food/​choices. I personally think a little over priced but nothing to cry about. You cant go wrong with the flautas or burritos. They have a salsa bar too. Always clean and pretty quiet, if you want to sit down and watch tv and enjoy a quick lunch. My only complaint is that the soda machine is never properly working. Its always over carbonated, but they will fix it right away if you say something.

So I would like t think that because of my review they got rid of the debit card fee, but I doubt it. Either way I am very happy and can now give this place 4 stars. Also when I was craving a chimichanga they made one for me even though it wasn’t on the menu. If i could give them 4.5 stars I would, but 4 will have to do for now.

So I ate here two days ago wanted to try it since my names Diego bad idea I got food poisoning vomit the runs cold sweat the works dr actually gave me Anti biotics to cleanse my system. It’s unfortunate cause the food was ok but making the customers sick no bueno.

I just love the «tortas» here. Everything is always good. Go here if your in the area and stopping by for a quick bite of mexican food. The girls are always nice, and the place is clean. Their salsa bar is good too. You can not beat the price! I like this place.

Inexpensive option for a quick meal in Indio. At first glance, the menu looks affordable. When you see the portions of tasty food, you’ll realize how really inexpensive it is. The nachos are generous and taste great. I highly suggest sharing unless you are able to bring some home. They have a bar with all the salsas and toppings you’ll need. I’ve also tried the huarache, which was also quite good.
It looks a bit like a corporate chain, but they might just have hired a good graphic designer.
I’m not sure it’s worth a drive to Indio, but it’s a solid choice if you find yourself on a jury and need lunch.
