Avid Physical Therapy

A friend recommended Vince Kambe after their good experience. I had started to hike and was experiencing pain in a knee after long walks and short runs.
My goal was to hike Mt. Whitney with a friend as a celebration of his conquering Cancer. A secondary goal was to do my first sprint triathlon after 30 years of simmering as a couch potato. I’m 54 years old.
But I couldn’t run 1.5 miles or hike 7 miles w/​o pain in my knee.
Avid Physical Therapy was a great experience! Staff was professional, all of the assistants were top notch! Doc Kambe designed a great program and was very interested in my progression. I felt he spent a tremendous amount of his time with me. The stretching and exercises were successful! The cooling cuffs helped keep swelling down, and very helpful.
The office layout is open, friendly, creating a comfortable environment for rehabilitation.
Results! Hiked 2 14,000 foot mountains-​No Knee Pain. My Whitney, 22 miles in 11.5 hrs-​No Pain!
2 Sprint Triathlons, 1 International Triathlon completed, and more to come…
I’m now hiking 7 miles/​week, biking 20 miles/​week, and swimming 2 miles/​week, running 3 – 4 miles/​week.

I just completed a Doctor directed 6 week/​12 visit session with this very fine crew. I was impressed from the moment I walked in the doors on my first visit. This is a professionally led group of specialists. Ms. D’Arcy Hlavin, PT, DPT was my coach and a more ‘finer’ physical therapist you will not find in the Coachella Valley! It’s not a ‘cake walk’ when you’re under the care of Ms. Hlavin and her team (Jesus, Brian, Ruth). You work during every visit but at a very closely monitored pace and the results are inarguable. The crew stays tuned into your progress and helps you challenge yourself to better health. Thanks Mr. Vince Kambe, Director. It was a pleasure to watch you with patients and interacting with your Staff. You lead a very capable and professional crew of specialists. I will miss the warm greetings I received by the Ladies at the desk and already miss my workouts with D’Arcy and her crew. Best wishes team Avid! RMW

I am giving Avid 5 stars because of the office staff. I made an appointment for my uncle yesterday and he is about to go in to his first appointment today. A week ago I made an appointment at different physical therapy office and after he waited a week to be seen he was turned away at the door because they did not accept his insurance (which they previously told me they did). Avid however was very helpful and quick to call our insurance and get back to us with exactly what they needed to make sure the visit could be covered. They were so helpful and not to mention getting an appointment the next day so I couldn’t help but give them a good review on Unilocal.I will follow up this review after m y uncle’s appointment to let you know what he thought. thanks!

So far I’ve only visited Avid Physical Therapy once for a general evaluation and was assigned to Darcy or more correctly D’Arcy Hlavin PT DPT. She really made me feel comfortable as she pushed, prodded and stretched me during a health and wellness evaluation. I didn’t visit because of an injury but as a self pay who went in for an evaluation. I liked the environment mostly in a large, clean and comfortable room and it felt like the therapists supported one another in an open environment. I would definitely visit again but not sure I am committed to doing the work yet.

I have been going to Avid for almost a year with a few different injuries. They have been wonderful, caring and very supportive. I highly recommend them, the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and the office is very clean and the equipment is up to date. I encourage everyone to try Avid for all your PT needs.
