Crouse’s is a family owned and operated dining establishment in Indianola. The award-winning pie brings in people from all around. But the great tasting food and the friendly atmosphere bring people back time and time again. I eat there frequently and favor the philly steak pita(with a side of mayo), the chili dog and the chicken sandwich with bacon! The cheese sticks are awesome and the onion rings are great.

Locals you have it made! If you are a small town Indianolian you have it made. I spent the night at a friend’s and we walked around the corner to this café the next morning. We just to have happened to get to the door moments before they opened. There was at least 9 cars with people sitting and waiting to come in for the Sunday brunch. We sat in a booth and watched them flock to the buffet. There were so many regulars their tables were set up in advance to have their own spot in this café. I got to take a look at the buffet but it was way more food then I could eat for the great 8 dollar price. So much good food in fact I barely got to look before the line had formed to eat it. We had a small breakfast instead and the waitress was very prompt with our orders and meals. I think the locals have it down and know when to hit the right times. I hear right after church there is a wait to get in the door. I am sure I will be back the next time I visit Indianola. I feel jealous I don’t have a place that’s close to my home like this. I love a good small town diner and this is a great one. The breakfast was good and the buffet looked amazing.

When I walked into Crouses café there were a considerable amount of people here which I figured was a good sign. But when I took a seat in my booth that was broken and fixed with duct tape I was less satisfied. This continued when it took 10 minutes to get a waitress to take my drink order and then after she left another waitress came and told us that our order would be taken soon even though it was already taken. Our first waitress then came back and asked us if our mouths didn’t work enough to tell her our order was already taken. We then preceded to wait 25 minutes for our food to arrive and it was subpar in itself. Overall my experience at Crouses Café was not satisfactory and would not recommend the restraunt to anyone unless you want bad service and below average food.

Great little local diner! Aside from the menu, they’ll make almost any staple to order.

This is the absolute stereotype of «the small town diner.» What you see is what you get. Wonderful home cooked breakfast food. Heavy breakfast food. Biscuits and gravy are a MUST! The other major pro to this place is the service. They servers are so incredibly friendly. In fact majority of the time when I go to pay the bill I end up talking to the woman behind the counter for at least 5 minutes before I leave. Always a favorite when I am in Indianola! PS. If you come in at the right time you can have a late breakfast and catch the price is right!

Excellent breakfast place. The service is usually very good, though it depends highly on which waitress you get(both of the twins are awesome). I usually avoid buffets like the plague but their weekend breakfast buffet is great. Worth WAY more than the 8 or so bucks it costs. Great coffee. Anything beyond breakfast is fine. Typical diner food. The décor is ugly as sin, but you don’t notice it so much when faced with unending biscuits and gravy.

My family has been eating here for decades… I love the place and always will. A classic diner serving satisfying food… and they are family owned. Great choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. and daily specials. They have a great staff that is both family and those who have worked there for years. The price is right and the food is good… I will always recommend this place!

I wish that I could add something new and insightful, but alas I can do no such thing. Everything is solid and reasonably priced. You won’t find anything gourmet or fancy, but why would you come here if that is what you’re looking for? Not every restaurant needs to be pushing the culinary boundaries. Crouse Café i
