LOVE this store! Larger store, great selection, very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Especially enjoy their various holiday, specialty offerings(Christmas selection birdseed, etc.) and their spring/fall drop-off bird feeder cleaning opportunities. And also enjoy watching their yearly«owl cam» — live online streaming of an owl family and it’s hatchlings! Happy place to be!

I am in love with this store. Walking in here is like walking into a hidden garden with a pond … might have something to do with the fact that there’s a pond in the middle of the store. A hidden garden where everything’s for sale. This store sparked my interest in bird watching(mainly from my porch and patio) and bird feeding(only the Nyjer seeds and No-Mess Blend, can’t screw with the landscaping). I also love putting out the hummingbird feeder and watching those little suckers zoom around. I had no idea they were so territorial, they’re like Japanese Fighting Fish, sometimes we get quite a show behind the house. I digress. The staff here is very knowledgable, they have every bird watching or bird feeding accessory you could ever need, and will gladly help you set up a feeding system to attract whatever type of bird you’d like to see. They even have bat houses and squirrel feeders, but I haven’t yet explored these past-times. This location also recycles their gallon jugs and bags of seed, which is why I go there instead of the one in Carmel which is closer. But the one in Carmel often has a friendly dog on staff who accompanies customers around the store, and is just steps away from Handel’s ice cream, so there’s that … again, I digress. The 82nd Street location survived the remodeling of the strip mall, now they’re surrounded by The Container Store and Nordstrom Rack, so there’s even more reason to make the trip. WBU is pretty cool. And if you get into it, they have a membership club that offers good discounts and rebates. Oh and throughout the year they’ll bring in owls, birds of prey and things like that for show and tell, very cool especially for the kids.

Great shop, really fun discussing bird feed as if fine wine! The staff knows their stuff and is very helpful. This is the mother store for the chain and it shows. Fun just wondering in the shop and big plus it is next to Taiwan Tea House

I’m not a big bird enthusiast, but I’ve stopped in this store a time or two. I found a great selection of all things related to birds and nature. If you have kids, they even have a special section devoted to them! WBU is a great place to go if you are looking for a unique gift for someone. WBU is now a franchised store with locations nationwide, but this store remains owned by the original founders — Jim & Nancy Carpenter. Maybe that explains why Betsy A. says this one has the best selection. I don’t know — I haven’t visited any other locations. I think they might also have guided nature/bird walks that they offer at this location. If you’re in the area, WBU is a fun place to check out and you might just find something that’s perfect for you or someone you know!

A fan of all the Wild Birds Unlimited stores about town, I think I like this one best simply for its selection. From every kind of bird feeder you can imagine to great bird, garden and nature-themed gifts, this shop has it all. I also like their unique birdbaths. We are devotees of WBU because they are experts in telling you how to attract birds to your own yard. Thanks to the staff’s help and advice, we now have resident hummingbirds, wrens and more. Suffice it to say that every time we visit a WBU, we find something we didn’t know we couldn’t live without!
