These are hands down the best tacos I’ve had in Indy, and among the best I’ve had anywhere ever(and I lived in CA for a while, where delicious tacos are abundant). I eat here at least once a week. Their meat is freaking amazing, but the pork is *especially* good. Very tender and savory. Also, their cilantro, onions, radishes, and limes are always fresh. My bf usually gets the steak quesadilla and/or a burrito, so I’ve had a few bites of those, and they are equally as delicious. I’m so addicted to the tacos that I’ve never ordered anything else, but there’s a wide range of options on their menu. Someday, I will get around to trying it all. The staff are also very good people. :)

These Tacos are good, they are not best in my opinion. I have had better. BUT I would definitely stop in again if I was in the area. I would not make a special trip. Why? The tortillas they use are not my favorite. The meat is great though! Atmosphere: A Food: B Sauce: Caliente Mami! Customer Service: A+ They were all friendly and super helpful!

Very good tacos, with delicious toppings served alongside. They don’t serve chips, which would be nice, given the great salsas. Although in a strip mall, inside this is a nice, bright space. And most importantly, the food is really good.

Don’t eat the orange hot sauce!!! My mouth was on fire for 20 minutes and I’m a guy who puts hot sauce on EVERYTHING. Tacos were a little on the dry side. I’d probably try something different next time. I’d say it’s worth trying if you’ve never been.

Great little stop near the intersection of I74 and 465 in Indianapolis. Order at the counter, with a focus on the simple Mexican staples. I went with the steak burrito, which was delicious. The tortilla had a great chewiness to it, the steak was really well seasoned. I wished there was a little more meat and a little less lettuce, but the flavors were fantastic. We ate to go, but the presentation in the restaurant of the little plate with salsas and onions etc looked very nice!

Now that I’ve been to a wide variety of Mexican restaurants in Indy, I can confidently say that there are 2 basic categories: Legit and Not-Legit. This helps me categorize the review. Once you decide if it’s legit or not, then you can start to get picky as everyone will have their individual preferences. That being said, Tacos 46 is totally legit! The menu and register is right in front of the door, so you walk in, decide what you want and place your order. If you decide to dine-in, they will deliver to your table. The menu consists of tacos, burritos and tortas along with a few other items such as queso fundido, asada plate and quesadillas. I ordered 3 tacos to get a good feel for some different meats. The basic meat options are asada, pastor, cabeza, campechano and chorizo. I ordered an asada taco and a pastor taco and then threw on an asada con queso taco. The taco al pastor was great! Really good flavor and a nice bit of char which really makes the taco amazing. The asada was good as well although maybe not my favorite in Indy. Nonetheless, it’s still one of the better tacos I’ve had in Indy. The asada con queso is basically a cheese quesadilla with carne asada. That was out of this world. The cheese had leaked onto the grill just a bit so I got some nice grilled cheese at the edges. I’m drooling just thinking back to that! Along with speedy service, friendly staff and a really inviting atmosphere, Tacos 46 is one of the legit taco stops in Indianapolis. Oh, before I forget… be careful with the salsa. In my opinion, it’s some of the best I’ve had in a while but if you don’t like very spicy stuff… steer clear of the red one :) Super yummy and I can’t wait to go back to explore more of the menu.

The food is good and its cheap. If those are your two primary metrics then this place is a winner. I like their queso fundido and tacos. Everything comes with radishes and pickled onions which compliment just about every item on the menu. Lots of fresh cilantro on the tacos. Yum! My two gripes: 1). Service is S-L-O-W. Everytime i’ve gone here its about a 15 minute wait to get what is essentially street food. Pick up the pace! 2) they have two kinds of sauce to put on your food: Freaky hot and magma hot. You’ll need your own sauce if you want to stay out of the emergency room. Ultimately I can put up with the negatives given the quality and price point. And the people behind the counter are very nice. Be sure to visit the Mexican bakery next door for some nice dessert treats

I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the immediate area, but I still prefer Paco’s or Taqueria Zamoritas on the end of town just beyond the zoo.

The place is always busy and the food has always been great. I don’t think that there is anything you won’t like on the menu. Just be cautious on their level of spice/heat. Wow.

I am so lucky that my children go to Preschool across the street from Tacos 46. On the playground in the summer the smell is amazing. The quesadilla’s are my life. The tacos are pretty darn awesome too. I love the radishes that accompany in the small side bags. Tacos 46 is authentic and amazing. So glad I get to smell it 3 days a week.

Better burritos than La Bamba. Don’t believe me? Try it out. I come here at LEAST once a month, and I don’t even live on this side of town. The burritos are as authentic as they get(Latino boyfriend approved). Super cheap for the taste and quality — only $ 5.50 for a GIANT burrito, leaving your mouth, belly, and wallet happy. You can see the burritos being made fresh in the kitchen when you are ordering. And although the decoration doesn’t really seem to fit, the taste easily makes up for it. Best burritos on this side of town, hands down.

Delicious and fresh tasting! Clean on the inside and service speedy and friendly. I ordered guacamole which was delicious but slightly overpriced. I also ordered a chicken taco and a pork taco. Delicious! The orange sauce they bring out is very spicy! Very satisfied with the food!

If you’re looking for amazing authentic tacos and a friendly environment, this is can’t-miss stop! Over on the outskirts of Speedway you might miss this joint in a little strip mall, except for the glow of bright orange from the décor inside. While you might need shades if you’re dining inside, you’ll definitely not need another place to eat! I highly recommend the chorizo tacos. They serve a trio of fresh made salsas along with limes, and plenty of onions and cilantro on fresh corn tortillas. I dream about these tacos at night.

My most favorite taco joint in Indy! I love a good, authentic taco. They do it up right at Tacos 46! My favorite is the chorizo taco and the beef tongue taco. I hesitate to give it 5 stars because sometimes the seasoning lacks in the steak and the chicken is dry and under seasoned. That being said. It’s a fantastic place! The staff is always SUPER nice, the place is clean and the prices are fair. Will continue to go back for the chorizo and tongue!

Delicious tacos for a great price? Count me in! This place is nice and authentic, with the staff and the customers speaking mostly Spanish. Their menu isn’t huge, but I also don’t think they need it to be — the place is called Tacos 46, why would I order anything but tacos(although maybe not 46 of them)? So, I think you can guess that I’ve only ever had the tacos. And they were awesome. But I’m sure that if they pack as much flavor into the rest of their menu as they do into their tacos, then you’ll be fine ordering anything. So definitely give this place a go if you’re in the area. It’s so much better than the Bell and you won’t hate yourself after. Unless you actually eat 46 tacos.

OK! I think this place is one of my favorite taco places now! I think I actually like it better than Carniceria Guanajuato. I finally had the chance to order take out here after running out of taco places to try, why not here. I had noticed but its right next to my AAA office. I dont know why it took so long to try this place. The menu is minimal but simple and not at all pricey. We ordered a 3 tacos of the asada, pastor, and mix(asada/chorizo), also did asada quesdilla, and Alambre Asada, I think we totally overdid it with the asada, but what can I say its one of my favorites! All 3 tacos came jam pack with lots and lots of meat! like literally it covered the entire taco. There were super good and the orange reddish salsa was super spicy!!! Like a 10 in hotness! I wish there was a mild sauce of that salsa, it was super good just way to spicy. The asada quesdilla was good, but for the price it seem very small. The alambre was yummy! It almost was like a breakfast fajita. It filled with ham, cheese, and steak with grill bell peppers. We had left over and I made a omelet with the leftover Alambre. It was the bomb! I think this is my go to taco place if I am ever in the neighborhood. Even though it was quite the wait it was so worth it! It was suoer busy so its understandable why there was a wait.

I found this place by luck. And it was a good thing. The wait is a little long, but it is worth it. The tacos are filling, the guacamole fresh, and the salsa is hot(not kind of hot… Really hot). They have tacos de alambre, which I will try soon. As soon as I am over eating their delicious steak tacos. I wish they had sides like beans and rice, but to make up for it they have cebollitas, and an amazing quest fundido.

I have passed this place for years and always said I would stop to check it out. Today I’m glad I did! I started light with just 2 chicken tacos with the works and I was not disappointed! Fast, friendly service and the restaurant is clean and brightly decorated.
