This is one of the safest independently owned shabby liquor stores in the fall creek place area of downtown indy. It’s walking distance and very conveniently located — nestled inside the neighborhood. there is not much rif-raff going on like some of the other liquor stores around the area. The prices vary as not everything has prices and depends on who is behind the bullet proof window at the time. I think the owner is charlie(or his wife?) and those who frequent the establishment know him by name and have much love for him. They have all the basics but you have to choose via the cashier so I sometimes feel like I am bothering them if I price check different items or change my mind.

I thought it would be funny to go to this liquor store, since Goose The Market has 14 reviews, but nary a Unilocalist has traveled directly across the street to check out the store that advertises its Crown Royal priced by the half gallon. You have to do all your business through bullet-proof glass, and the beer selection isn’t that great. All the big names, of course, but nothing special. The cashier/go-get-your-selection-from-the-refrigerator fellow was very nice and informed me that their cold sixer of Pabst Blue Ribbon was their best deal. Who could pass it up? Not me. I mean, c’mon, they won a blue ribbon in 1893, so you know its good. The place does have low prices going for it. So the next time you are wolfing down your Batali sandwich at Goose and staring at the State Discount Liquor from their window counter, you can rest and sup assured that you aren’t missing much.
