Reclamation does many things right. They’re in a super location, bring new things in regularly, have reasonable hours, and affordable prices. There’s books, jewelry, clothing, art, furniture, dishes, lamps, kid’s stuff, & knick knacks. Even though they’re in a smaller space than before, they don’t have a lot of junk like other places. I found that in large mall type antique shops, I’d spend a lot of time but not find many things because I have to look through so much. When I browse at Reclamation it doesn’t take all afternoon, and I always seem to find something wonderful.

I had no idea this place was as cool as it is! There are other vintage shops in the area that are crazy expensive, but this place has tons of cool things at really affordable prices! Every once in a while they have an outdoor sale that draws more vendors, and even if you don’t buy, it’s fun to walk around and talk with the sellers. I will definitely be back.

Let’s talk about my new favorite place, shall we? Located right off the Monon at 54th St, this place is tucked away from the street but very visible from the trail. A girlfriend had stopped by and knew I would love this place, so she convinced me to stop by on a recent Sunday. This place is part antique shop, part art gallery and part showroom for refurbished furniture. Think old coffee tables painted modern colors mingling with dresses from the 50s and great vintage art pieces. I basically wanted to throw away everything I own and furnish my place with items from Reclamation. I didn’t get that crazy, but I did find the perfect bistro set for my screened in sun porch. I had been searching everywhere, but hadn’t found anything that fit my taste until I spotted a nicely painted sunflower yellow table and chairs. Some places slap a coat of paint on an old chair and charge you $ 300, so I was blown away to see that this bistro set was selling for only $ 75. Awesome. Sold. What’s that? An additional 10% off(I don’t even know why some items were discounted, but I didn’t look a gift horse in the mouth okay?) sealed the deal. Seeing as I had a tiny car and big bistro set, the owner offered to let me pick it up another day. I was going to try and fit in into the car until he offered me delivery since I live less than a mile from he store. Another guy who supplied items to the store popped the table into his van and followed me home. He didn’t accept a tip, and instead told me to spend my money at Reclamation! This guy knows what’s up. I’m already planning my next visit very soon!
