As good as it gets. This place is the total package, great food, great service, great experience.

Great service from start to finish. Shrimp cocktails were terrific. Charred filet was fantastic as was the bone-in filet. Babyback ribs were excellent. Grilled asparagus was wonderful as were the roasted potatoes. Minus one star for the lobster Mac and cheese coming out cold(not once, but twice, as we sent it back. Fix this ridiculous problem). Good wine list with nice variety at different price points. Carrot cake was tasty and not too sweet. Highly recommend!

We stopped by Prime 47 for brunch before going to an afternoon NCAA tournament game. The price was steep($ 25?) for what you get, but the food was tasty overall. They had your usual brunch items(eggs, potatoes, biscuits/gravy, bacon/sausage) but then they also had burgers with more decedent toppings in fancier cheeses and sauces. They also had everything for make your own bagel & lox. It did come with complementary mimosas or bloody mary, which was a nice touch before the big game. I would go back, but would prefer to order off the menu. The interior is beautiful and overlooks the downtown scene. Very pretty.

Great spot for meeting for drinks. Not the best steakhouse option in downtown Indy, as far as food goes.

I got the Chilean sea bass and it was cooked perfectly – absolutely delicious! Also had the crab cake as an appetizer which was hands down the best crab cake I’ve ever had. The service was AMAZING. The restaurant knew my boyfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary the night we ate there and they went above and beyond. They surprised us by printing out a special menu that said ‘Happy 4th Anniversary!!’ at the top… Plus took our photo, printed it out, framed it, and gave it to us – all during dinner. I was so impressed, both with the food and the service. Prime47 is definitely a hidden gem in downtown Indy. 5 stars from me!

Prime 47 is very upscale steak and seafood restaurant. The food and service are outstanding. The building has the original pillars, beautiful inside. The wine vault is where money used to be stored for the electric company I think years ago. We did not have to wait for anything, our food came out hit and delicious and our drinks were always filled. I had the Chilean sea bass, my family had steaks. We had the roasted vegetables and jalapeño scalloped potatoes. Even the bread was great! My favorite was Eric’s cookie for dessert, a hit half baked chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup on top. I would go back just for the dessert! If you are celebrating something special or just want a fabulous evening out, this restaurant is the perfect place.

It’s a spendy, high end, steak restaurant and makes fine food. Especially good on a game night when you want to eat a decent meal and get to the game on time. The staff is high quality and the bartenders do a great job. I love the space best of all. What a gorgeous building and first floor. Wow.

Had the $ 107 filet plus added the Oscar style — amazing. The lobster Mac was to die for! The jalapeño potatoes were good too. The service was absolutely impeccable. «A must at least once» kind of place. Compared to Ruth’s Chris the night before, I thought this place was tops.

Hands down. Prime 47 wait staff was amazing. They were attentive and spot on with getting what you need right away. Everything we had was delicious. I cannot complain one bit about anything. It is pricey, but it’s ok if you want to do this every so often. It’s definitely a treat and you wouldn’t mind spending your money on great food and service. The asparagus was cooked to perfection and the Sriracha mac n cheese had enough cheese and kick to it. I believe I got the rib eye steak, it was so delicious. I didn’t need to add any salt or pepper to the steak. My goodness when they brought out our cookie dough with ice cream for dessert, we were completely full but we devoured it. The dessert was by far one of my favorite part of the meal.

I stopped in at Prime 47 for a business dinner having passed the restaurant a thousand times but never actually stopping in. That will definitely change in the future. From the prompt service I received the second I set foot in their gorgeous dining area to the very last bite of my incredible Kansas City Strip, every part of my meal was noteworthy. This one-of-a-kind steakhouse knows that it faces steep competition from the more«prestigious»(also see: «bougie») fine dining options in the downtown area, but every member of the staff sets Prime 47 apart with not only delicious food but exceptional people. Upon entering the front entrance on Pennsylvania, I was immediately greeted by a hostess who offered to take my coat and promptly went to grab the person I was meeting with. The General Manager, Troy, also made a point of stopping over before I was seated to check in and get acquainted, as well as stopping by throughout my meal to make sure everything was up to their very high standard. My server, Chris(who has spent a long time with the restaurant), was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and made sure to bring out a display of the different cuts of meat they would be serving that evening for me to see before I ordered. Chris also made sure to check up multiple times throughout the meal to refill drinks and bring other courses; his service struck the perfect balance between attentive but not overbearing. I also met with Lisa, the Sales Manager, for the meal — it’s quite clear that anyone looking for private dining is in the best of hands in the Indianapolis area. To begin, we ordered a shrimp cocktail and calamari — though I wanted to pace myself for the main course, I had a hard time staying away from these delicious starters. The shrimp were massive and the cocktail sauce burned in all the right ways, and the calamari provided an excellent, creamy palate cleanse. I followed the starters with a bowl of their Lobster Bisque soup, which was the perfect lead-up to my main course. I ordered the dry-aged Kansas City Strip with seared scallops wrapped in prosciutto de parma, and I assure you my mouth is still watering. I was also brought a side of lobster mac and cheese and brussel sprouts, which I unfortunately couldn’t dig into(but surely will be reheating this evening). I tried my hardest to keep my composure and not just inhale my incredible cut of meat, but ultimately I found myself desperately picking at every last bite of meat left on the bone. As always, I ordered my steak medium-rare and it was immaculately prepared, perfectly juggling the hot red center with a sizzling exterior. The scallops were an excellent pairing, and my Davis Bynum Pinot Noir enhanced the experience even further. Though the meal lasted nearly three hours, the time flew by thanks to excellent spacing by the serving team; their ability to allow time between courses but not leave you waiting is something that other dining establishments should make note of. It was clear that restaurant staff cares so much more about each guest’s experience than just turning tables, a trait that sets apart the good from the great. We finished the meal with Handsome Eric’s Cookie, a massive, half-baked chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup drizzled on at your table. Though I thought the universal laws of physics wouldn’t allow me to fit another bite of food in my stomach, I glimpsed divine intervention as I somehow made room for some of this delicious dessert. I don’t find myself raving in such detail about restaurants quiet often, but I assure you that Prime 47 earned every last bit of my praise. You could give your money away at St. Elmo’s like every other tourist in Indy, but a stop in Prime 47 would surely provide you with not only an exceptional gastronomic awakening but also a rare view at how service should really be. It’s meals like these that make me wish there was an option for six stars, and I expect without any shadow of a doubt that my next stop in will only be better. 12 out of 10. If you haven’t stopped in, I’m not quite sure what you’re waiting for.

This will be my 167,893,833th time here…(Slight exaggeration). The Martinis are amazing. Service staff knowledgable and consistent along with a great location. Food quality is always on point and fresh. I will definitely be back… Again.

I was wanting to broaden my restaurant route and decide on Prime 47. First off the waiters were pleasant and attentive. Our appetizer of scallops had a good flavor but were services cold. The salmon was fishy although the mushroom topping was delicious. We ordered a side of brussel sprouts which were roasted and surprisingly had no seasoning and to finish off the meal lemon cake seemed like a no brainier for dessert but was a lemon less and over sauced flop. Maybe next time next!

Service was wonderful. Dessert was sinful but 2 of us had to send our steaks back because they were well done even though I ordered mine medium rare and his was medium. Ambiance is perfect.

I really enjoyed Prime 47. I also am grateful for Devour Downtown. Service was fantastic. Seated immediately and never had to wait for service. I ordered the salmon and it was simply delicious. Did I mention the service was fantastic. For dessert I had a big cookie with a scoop of ice cream. They could have had a better dessert choice, but the cookie was very good. Way out of my price range for good food, but I will see you again for Devour Downtown

Good steakhouse food but it was hard to get past the incredibly sexual attire that was the entire female staff. The men were all professionally dressed in white coats while the women literally had their shirts buttoned UNDER their Boobs so I had a breast eye view everytime one leaned over to serve or clear the table. Now please understand, I served for years, I get that looking«cute» gets tips. But if I’m going to spend $ 200 on a dinner for 2, I’d like for the only boobs my husband sees to be mine, not our loverly waitress. Please don’t misunderstand, the service was great. We had no wait time and the staff was very knowledgeable. My only issue is with what seemed to be company policy of women’s attire. My husband wasn’t overly impressed with his filet. Lobster mac and cheese was good as was the beef short rib. I had a bite of our friends chocolate cookie for dessert which is craveable! I had the lemon cake, which was the perfect in between of a lemon bar and a shortcake. We will probably return but to the Carmel location rather than downtown and hope that that’s a little bit more pg.

Saw Prime 47 as a restaurant on Devour Downtown so thought we would give it a shot since their menu sounded pretty amazing. Turns out I was not as impressed as I thought I’d be for a steakhouse of this caliber. I ordered the filet which came with au gratin potatoes and also decided to get the lobster mac n cheese side(extra $). The mac n cheese was good but very oily. My filet tasted… just alright. It seemed kind of overcooked for medium. I got the half baked cookie for the dessert which I was happy with but I wouldn’t rave about it. For such an expensive steakhouse, I guess I thought their meal, especially the steak, would be mind blowing and that I’d be drooling at the thought of one day coming back.

The food here is amazing quality, and the service was fantastic. My friends took me here for my birthday, and the staff at Prime 47 went the extra mile to make it a special occasion. They printed a happy birthday message to me on the menu, and then brought me the amazing half-baked cookie dessert with a candle! I definitely recommend this restaurant! The braised short ribs with mushroom risotto was amazing! Definitely get lobster mac n cheese and the brussel sprouts if you have room in your tummy.

I was surprised to see a packed house on a Wednesday night, but now I know why. The food, drinks and service were superb. The ambiance was gorgeous. Valet was quick and very courteous and I highly recommend in these weather conditions. I absolutely adored my waitress Claire who recommended excellent dishes and was very friendly and upbeat the entire evening. I had lobster mac and cheese that was flavorful of both lobster and cheese! To closeout the evening I indulged in a delectable half-baked cookie with a dollop of vanilla ice cream, but before I could dive in, Claire drizzled warm chocolate sauce on top! Fine way to end a fantastic dinner.

I choose Prime 47 for our Valentine’s Day dinner and I was throughly impressed. We had a party of 13 and they provided us with 4 servers to handle our table which provided sufficient and excellent service. They even gave us complimentary desert after out dinner. The restaurant is pricey, but once you eat the food it will explain the pricey menu. Hands down, Prime 47 had the best steak I have had the chance to enjoy in the city of Indianapolis. The sides were divine and well worth the price. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant and have a pretty penny to spend I highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere of the restaurant was romantic and is fancy. Another favorite part of mine was their wine selection. I love a great bottle of wine and they have an exquiset selection and wide variety to choose from. Overall, my experience was wonderful. It was a great place to enjoy Valentine’s Day with the ones I loved. Check out Prime 47 for a wonderful experience.

I had to plan a dinner event for work and I chose Prime 47 as the location thanks to a recommendation from a coworker. This place isn’t anything close to what I would call affordable. But there’s a reason why. The food is outstanding. And the location itself is really fantastic. Apparently, once upon a time, this location was a bank. The only evidence of this is that when you are walking back to the restrooms you pass by the old bank vault, which they use to store wines now. They have two spaces for private events. One is essentially the second floor of the main restaurant. It’s a really unique space, but doesn’t provide much privacy. The second is the Fortune room, which is a private room across the lobby from the main restaurant. This is the space I reserved and it worked beautifully for us. It also has the bonus of containing a private bar, which kept our guests happy. As far as the food goes, for appetizers we had crab cakes, as well as a beef and chicken dishes. Then a baby iceberg salad with blue cheese dressing to start dinner. We had the choice of a filet, sirloin, chicken, or sea bass for our entrees. Sides were served family-style, and included lobster mac and cheese, mushrooms, and broccolini. Dessert was also served family style and included cheesecake, bread pudding, brownies, and shortcake. By the time I left I was stuffed. And everything I put into my mouth was delicious. If I really wanted to be nit-picky the only criticism I had was that the lobster mac and cheese seemed a little bland. But I still ate every bite of it on my plate. I’m looking forward to doing more events here in the future. They took great care of us and everyone kept commenting about how impressed they were with the food and location.
