Plus Locksmith

There was something wrong with my lock that I called the closest locksmith to take a look at it. Instead of finding a solution to the problem, the other locksmith made it worse. In the end, I had buy a new lock body.
Still worried about my lock, I called this place to get an advice. Even on the phone, they were very helpful already. Their locksmith came that day to inspect the previous work and showed me the errors the previous locksmith made. He fixed the lock and adjusted the door — now, it works better than before. Had I called them before, I wouldn’t have wasted my time, money and effort on a poor service.

When you’re locked out of your house, you’re desperate to get in. In my urgency, I google for a locksmith and think I got a local company (because they have a local number). Their technician calls me quickly and tells me he’ll be at my house in 15 minutes. I think this is great. He spends about 15 minutes to tries and pick the locks on two of my entry doors. Not successful. He says he has to drill the lock. This takes 1 minute.
He says the bill is $ 190, including the $ 19 trip charge. I say «you’re kidding me!» «this is extortion». «You spend a total of 20 minutes. Destroy the lock and want almost $ 200?»
I end up giving him $ 150, because that was all I had in my wallet. (I wasn’t about to give them my credit card #.
So, I’ve spent $ 150 for some guy to drill my lock and I still have to replace the lock/​handle my self. I could have drilled the lock my self.
To top it off, the company gives me a follow up call, inquiring about the service. Are you kidding me?
Lessons learned. If you have access to a drill, do it your self. You’ll save $ 150-​$ 200. You have to replace the lock anyway. Second, go into the locksmith business, you don’t need lock picking skills. You just need a power drill.
