Absolutely delicious. The server was so adorable and sweet. Checked in frequently. I’ve eaten my fair share of Phở and the broth was phenomenal! I get pork broth but even the beef broth was that perfect salty velvet that you want. I will be back for sure!

Boy oh boy! When I tell you guys that I am an absolute sucker for phô.(maybe I just like saying for phô.) Anywhooooo… I’ve been to this little, overlooked treasure twice. Although one time I stopped in solely for bubble tea which I absolutely love but that’s another story altogether. OK. Where was I? Oh yeah! Phô Tasty! SMH. Sorry guys. Let me say that there are no lush amenities or breathtaking décor. The seats, however, are full. That says a lot. People aren’t coming because it’s trendy. They’re not coming because it a cool, hipster, high profile attraction like one would find on Mass Ave. No, they’re coming because of quality. The first time I went, which was, mind you, only for bubble tea; they’re were about 20 people there… At the END of lunch hour(around 2pm). Sitting. I knew in that moment that my return was imminent. The portion size is incredible. I ordered veggie because I was feeling particularly heavy and I wanted something lighter. It didn’t matter. This was a feast sized portion. The broth was super delicate and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. I really don’t know how else to convince you to give this place a try. If you don’t, I’m removing you from my friend’s list… And possibly out of my life all together.

Delicious! The phở broth is amazing. Spring rolls are a bit chewy, but add chili paste to the peanut sauce to brighten the flavor! Fried rice is good, but needs more vegetables. Service was wonderful! Definitely coming back again!

The wife and I were running errands on the Northside on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to grab some lunch. I’m always in the mood for phở, se we consulted the Unilocal app and Phở Tasty looked very promising. Tucked away in the obligatory strip mall, Phở Tasty was a slight departure from most phở joints I’ve experienced. It possessed a bright, modern décor with attractive lighting(not that it was really needed midday on a sunny afternoon), and surprisingly lots of room between tables. I’m used to eating my phở in closer quarters where there’s a danger of getting splashed by broth from the table next to me. Frankly, I’m much more used to rickety tables and beat up tables on a linoleum floor under fluorescent lights. As for the phở, I had the House Special Phở($ 10.95) consisting of tripe, beef tendon, rare steak, and sliced meatball. I received a good-sized bowl of phở, mind you not as large as many bowls I’ve encountered, with a decent but still average amount of meat and noodles. My phở was accompanied with the standard plate of add-ins, fresh Thai basil, jalapenos, lime wedges, and mung bean sprouts. As always, the broth was the make or break component. Phở Tasty’s beef broth was excellent as it was clean, meaty, and balanced with just enough fattiness for a nice mouth feel. It possessed the expected subtle spice notes and was perfectly seasoned. It was one of the best broths that I can reasonably recall. The only downside to my meal was that it was one of the pricier bowls of phở that I’ve had given the amount received. Maybe it’s the lack of competition from other phở restaurants or maybe the necessary ingredients are harder or more expensive to find here in the Midwest, but Phở Tasty’s tasty phở was at least $ 1 – 2 more expensive than comparable bowls I’ve had on the East and West Coasts. Still, price aside, Phở Tasty made a very good bowl of phở. I would gladly eat here again.

I really like this place. It’s small, reasonably priced and the service was good. Our server was super sweet and attentive. Now about the food. We ordered bubble tea(I got mango and the hubs got honeydew — both were fantastic!), soft spring rolls with shrimp and pork and then the phở. The bubble tea came within 3 – 4 minutes then a couple of minutes later the spring rolls appeared along with our giant bowls of phở. We waited a total of MAYBE6 minutes for all of our food. The phở was a giant serving, as it should be, and it was sooo good! There were huge chunks of everything in it which made it comforting and filling. They also serve their phở with a plate full of bean sprouts and Thai basil for you to add as you see fit. On the table, every condiment to enhance you phở experience is available: salt, pepper, fish sauce, hoisin, crushed red pepper — it was so delicious! Definitely recommended :)

I wanted to like this place, honest. But I just didn’t. I came here with friends and order Phở Dac Biet; my friend ordered the Bun Rieu. My phở was mediocre at best. The minute they put the soup down in front of me, I knew something was wrong. The broth was so pale, it was almost water colored and lacked depth of being simmered for hours. The meat and noodle amounts were ok but nothing spectacular to write about. My friend enjoyed his bun rieu but from the looks of it, it didn’t look very authentic. They did have what my family calls«chocolate»(congealed pigs blood) which is not served at most restaurants, but even that was lacking in flavor. As a side note for service, the waiter was very nice and attentive. The food did take very long to come out to us(which is weird since the soup should be pre-made and simmering and you just need to put the ingredients together in one bowl). On top of that, I did ask the waiter if they had jackfruit for their smoothies to which he told me no, they never do. I later saw a sign on my way out that lists jackfruit as an option. Kind of weird that he didn’t seem to know the menu. At the end of the day, there are other Vietnamese restaurants with better quality that I would rather go to.

My husband and I decided to give Phở Tasty a try after a Coscto run — who doesn’t like a good bowl of Phở? I was looking for something a little lighter, so I opted for the vegetable Phở. The vegetables were very crisp, not soggy and over cooked and the tofu was browned first, so it also held its shape quite well and it had a nice mouth feel. The broth — clean, full of character and oh so good. When we are in Indy again, I could see us going back again as one of our go to spots.

Huge portions of delicious, savory phở at a great price? That’s an all around win-win in my book. The ambiance is low-key and casual. Service is surprisingly fast and friendly. All in all, it’s a solid phở joint with lots of great meal options besides Vietnamese noodle soup if you’re craving something else. Also, their bubble teas and Café Sua Da(Vietnamese iced coffee) are absolutely delicious! Phở Tasty is definitely worth checking out.

Great food and service. All ingredients taste fresh. Each table has a chili paste bottle, fish sauce, red chili flake container, sriracha bottle, and soy sauce. The restaurant is seat yourself but I’ve never had trouble getting a lunch time seat. My favorite is number 41. It’s a typical vegetable phō with tofu. Broth is light and delicious. Reacts perfectly to some added spice. Noodles are thin and perfectly chewy.

Moving to indy, I was concerned with not having a place for my phở and bun fix. I am confident that going to phở tasty will fufill any of those cravings. I’m year to try their banh mi, but I’ve heard great things from coworkers. Check it out, it’s a nice small shop and price is reasonable.

First time visit, very friendly staff. Ordered the Bun Boe Hue special, it was as good as phở gets. Super tasty broth, plenty of tender beef, noodles and veggies. SO good. Would go back, highly recommended!

Severely understaffed. Waited and waited, and nobody ever came back to take our order, so we decided it would be faster to just leave and go somewhere else. Will consider coming back if they hire more staff to help out.

This is a great addition to Castleton — fast, cute interior, inexpensive, and better than a burger! My BF and I have been here twice, and we liked it both times! First thing first — get the smoothie boba! You can get boba with the ice blended or unblended, but it tastes AMAZING blended. Boba stands for the tapioca balls at the bottom of the cup. I’m sure any flavor is excellent, but my eyes shot open when I tried the taro one. It tasted like part-smoothie, part-milkshake. The vermicelli noodles filled me up! I love the fresh favors of the veggies with the meat. The last few bites are the best, because the fish sauce stands out. But my favorite so far is the Banh Mi sandwich, which is only about $ 5! The first time my BF ordered the phở, the broth was weak, but the broth was way better the second time we visited. Maybe they improved their recipe! Overall, it was a good experience. People not used to Asian flavors will like it too.

It wasn’t the best Vietnamese food EVER, but I’ll definitely come back when I need an Asian fix. People not used to Asian flavors will like it too.

Yum! I loved the variety of Phở they offered. I typically get a chicken phở but this time I got a brisket #35 phở instead. I’m so glad I did as it was amazing!!! The meat was delicious and I was surprised to keep seeing meat show up in my dish! The others at my table got the chicken phở and had said it wasn’t much of a difference from others they have had in the past. In general, the bowl was huge and we all left stuffed! Lein our waitress was wonderful with customer service and recommending her favorites! Thank you! We will definitely be back!

I came here for lunch thinking I was going shopping afterwards, well I was wrong it tasted so good that I ate to much and now can’t move. I got the special and I can’t per ounce the name but it is beef stew with rice noodles. Visually it looked great then came the smells which were even better but after the first bite I was hooked. It is a must try!!!

This place has undergone an owner change, and the décor looks cleaner. The bathroom too :), cleaner i mean. High quality chopsticks too! As to the food — The crispy egg rolls are as tasty as they come. I don’t think I have tasted better egg rolls anywhere else in Indy. As for the entrée, I ordered ‘Hu tieu tom thit’. Its rice noodles with pork and shrimp in a pork broth with the usual garnishments. The pork and shrimp servings was generous for the price. The most interesting taste was some small sized eggs, which I wanted to know what they were, but the manager/owner didn’t quiet swing by. I think the taste was good but not excellent, not sure I’d want to order again. The portion size was huge. Also they served only two slices of jalapeños! Can’t they see I am Asian! I think I am certainly going to be back again since I want to try their other entrées. As for service — wait, what’s that? Jokes apart, as your enter, want up to the counter, order your food, and take any seat you want. Once you finish eating, walk up to the counter and pay your bills. Best to adjust your expectation in advance to avoid disappointment.

I didn’t have the Phở, but what I had wasn’t so tasty. The shrimp in my dish had that yucky iodine taste and the only other flavor in the dish was raw onions. Not sure if we had a new waitress, but the service was awkward and uncomfortable.

So good! I picked up carry out here last week – veggie phở with tofu. It had a wonderful rich broth and crisp fresh veggies. My only complaint was that my pick up order was ready about 10 minutes later than the estimated time. I’ll add this to my easy dinner pick-up list and can’t wait to stop by again!

Just ok. Service was very slow albeit friendly. My phở lacked depth of flavor in the broth. Only three small pieces of steak. There were four large pieces of meatless fat though which appeared intentional. Nonetheless, not appealing in taste or appearance. The pork spring rolls had good texture but lacked flavor. My wife’s kimchi phở had good flavor. The fish had a strange texture and no plate was provided for shrimp shells to be disposed.

So the hubby and I was debating on what to eat on a cold wet ugly Friday afternoon… and I thought… hey…I haven’t been HERE before. I was anxious because good Phở is hard to find… not everyone’s broth is up to par… but no fear Phở tasty is pretty awesome. Their menu is not as extensive as the bigger Vietnamese restaurant on the west side, however there is plenty to choose from including sandwiches, soups and cold rice noodle dishes. The spring rolls were a little tough, but still tasty. I had the Kimchee phở soup… OMG…that was what the body needed for the day we were having. It was good broth, with a variety of weird fish balls and shrimp and of course the assortment of veggies found for any Phở soups. The hubby got the cold rice noodle dish that was topped with a chopped up fried spring roll tender well marinated incredibly tasty pieces of beef and some plump flavor-filled shrimp. The prices were average around $ 9.00-$ 11.00 for either soup or cold dish. I am happy to finally find a worthy Phở soup restaurant close to me as fall and winter is descending upon us. This is definitely a place to visit if your looking for good well priced Vietnamese food!

We entered Phở Tasty at 1pm on a Sunday afternoon and were not sure if you were to seat yourself, approach the counter in the back, or what. We were finally told to «just sit anywhere» if we were eating in and opted for a table near the windows. From there, we sat for a full 18 minutes before being approached at all. The family beside us left at about the 15 minute mark. However, we quickly noticed that the gentleman that directed us toward our seats was *the only one* working the front of the house, so we decided to suspend judgement and just wait. Admittedly, I am not well versed in Vietnamese cuisine and always get the same thing. I perused the menu and noticed they only had beef or pork Phở options, and I usually get chicken. Hmmm. The sole waiter(the owner maybe?) finally came to take our order and I asked about Chicken Phở. He said it was an option(«many Americans like the chicken»), it’s just not on the menu. Score. The Hubs branched out and got the #28(rice and egg noodles with shrimp). Of course we got the spring rolls(sans pork) with peanut dipping sauce. When our food came out my husband’s had pork in it when he had ordered shrimp, and only rice noodles. Our server brought his order tablet back to compare, then left and brought back the menu, then left and came back again before agreeing to bring my husband what he had originally ordered. Luckily I take notes for my reviews in real time, so I was able to confirm that he had indeed ordered the #28. Whew. I would think they should have just taken it away and made it right from jump instead of making 3 trips back to the table to look at the dish again, but that’s just me. Taste wise, the rolls were good. The peanut sauce was sparse and topped with a gob of onions, which gave it a strange onion-y taste that I am not used to, but to each their own I guess. My phở hit the spot despite having onions in it when I asked for no onions, and once the hubs got the right meal, his was«ok», too. Things we learned at our visit: – The Groupon must be used for Phở dishes ONLY and other entrees will not be discounted. Ask at the beginning to be sure that what you order will be covered under these guidelines. – Bathrooms are clean, dining space is bright and nice – Service can be a little slow and water refills were difficult to obtain – We may give it another shot for take-out as dining in took a really long time for a Sunday afternoon. All in all I became homesick for my little Phở spot on the Westside after our visit to Phở Tasty as the service and food is ALWAYS stellar at my former spot… oh well. Phở Tasty will have to do in a pinch.

The new owners have really turned this place into a great restaurant. They did a remodel on the inside and it looks much brighter and more welcoming. They also expanded the menu and add Bahn Mi(THANKYOU). I ordered their Grilled Chicken Bahn Mi which was phenomenal! The chicken was great and the sandwich itself had a great spicy flavor. Tip: skip the mayo and have them add avocado. That’s a perfect Bahn Mi. They also now offer fruit smoothies with boba. I had an avocado smoothie with boba which was very good. I will definitely be back for lunch very often at Phở Tasty. Can’t wait to taste their phở next time.

I’ve been here 3 times in the past month. The service has varied widely pending on who is working as they get the kinks out of the new restaurant. Everything I’ve eaten had been good. The phở, banh xeo, and rice dishes have been spot on with tons of flavor. Though be warned the pics on the menu do not match the food you get. I think they may have just downloaded pics from the Internet instead of taking pics of their own food. I will be back for take out next time till they work out the kinks with service.
